  • During the Clone Wars several corporate states and trade unions joined the Separatist Alliance cause but at the same time maintained business interest and held political positions within the Galactic Republic. We take a look at how they operate freely without much recourse on both sides of the battle line.

Republic wins hard due to overwhelming numbers and wealth.
In fact using clones pretty much crippled the republic. Not only did clones listen to idiotic orders albeit grudgingly, the number of clones were extremely limited compared to the billions of conscripts the republic could field. Also the jedi would try to preserve the lives of conscripts better which would lead them to at least attempt to create better tactics. The clone army was a trap, while the droid army was brilliant.

You know what really gets me? After the fall of the separatists and the rise of Palpatine's Empire, why is it that the Empire decided to use slave labor for military projects like the Death Stars? I would have thought that a number of these parties would have made some real moves after the war in the high end military contracts sectors.

@@nobleman9393 Oh I get that. It's not that slavery of the offending peoples that comes into question. It's a matter of efficient labor, upkeep, and requiring specialized equipment to have that labor function. Why bother with say Wookie labor, when you can have mass produced droids that can work in a zero G environment without oxygen and have can magnetically adhere to the hull/super structure of whatever is being built? When they break, send them back to ether be repaired, recycled for parts, or sent back to be melted down entirely for re manufactured units. Meanwhile, slave labor of organics is prone to error, our squishy nature, the need for not exactly standardized equipment to do the work, and other issues that seem like far more overhead cost than simply deploying them as slave labor on planet side projects that are lower risk to project and cost.
