Yeah I'm sorry but these videos absolutely destroy Zero's "tutorials" that are done on-stream and on-the-fly with whatever comes out of his head.

This was not the case when I checked on 13 Dec, so it must have been patched. We used to grab the ledge on the 54th frame following hitlag like in smash 4, so this is a huge difference.

Wandering most of this (if not all) are geared towards the competitive side of the game, if you want to play in locals or other tournaments, for example. If you just like playing with friends, it’s not necessary (unless you wanna stomp them lol). This all comes with practice, however. The more you play and make use of these abilities, the less you’ll focus on them and the more they’ll become second nature.

    I actually took notes:
    *Smash Bros. Ultimate Guide*
(1 Stop JoyCon during dash to turn quickly.
(2 Perfect shield allows any combo. Jump, Smash Attack, Grab, etc.
(3 Shield when you land to preform a Tech. You can tech on the side of a stage. It can be used to survive a “spike” but cannot be done at high percentages. Holding down will decrease your knockback (making it easier to survive) and holding up will increase your knockback.
(4 Air dodging and place dodging. Dodging in place counters a grab.
(5 When launched up, move directly left or right. Down will not do anything. When launched horizontally, move towards the stage and try to line up with the corner of the radar (assuming you were launched far) Momentum cancel moves work well like Villager’s Pocket. Jumps also work. Air dodging is risky, but if you survive you’ll still have your double jump.
(6 Knockback increases while charging smash attacks. Knockback decreases while crouching.
(7 Moves become stale (less damage and knockback) the more you use them.
(8 Ledge Trump = Grabbing ledge right after an opponent to force them off. Dash towards ledge, then half circle (upwards) to instantly ledge Trump. You can prevent being Ledge Trumped by buffering any action.
(9 A Two Frame is when a character has 2 frames of vulnerability when first grabbing the ledge. You can do a fake out on some special moves by holding up
then releasing at any time when trying to recover against a Ledge Trumper. This will make them grab the ledge first so that you can Trump them instead.
(10 Reset: If your opponent doesn’t tech, you can go in to reset them by hitting them which will force them to roll, attack, or stand. You can only reset them twice. They will bounce, then you can start a combo or a quick smash attack. Or you can reset them twice and try to predict what they will do next (roll, attack, or stand) and punish them for that.
(11 A Tomahawk Grab is preformed when you pressure your opponent with aggressive aerials to bring out their shield. After doing this a few times, you can instead jump and fast-fall to grab them while they’re shielding your fake aerial.

If, for example, I show my parents, who know next to nothing about fighting games, the Daigo Parry without an explanation, they wouldn't get exactly why it's so hype (they're not idiots, they'll suspect that the block takes great skill when they hear the crowd cheer and realize that it was a great comeback when they see the HP bars). Without a basic explanation Street Fighter's physics, frame data, rules, etc... they couldn't possibly know how precise and skilled one would need to be to pull off the parry, much less under tournament and losing conditions and punish with a special before the opponent can recover and knock you out with a light breeze.

How am I supposed to decide within a split-split second whether I should do something for what I would have a time window of less than 0,1 seconds?
I am feeling so overwhelmed, seriously

last time I checked, air dodge into the stage to live longer depends on the character and does work with most of them as a better option than double jumping

Would love to see a video on the mindset changes a smash 4 player has to make in order to excel in Ultimate; I'm in this position and am finding myself adhering to too many Smash 4 habits while playing (trying to jablock 3 times, staying on the ledge when edge guarding, spacing aerials instead of being aggressive, etc.) thanks for your vids!

Oh wow, ledge trumping. I gotta try that. Playing Zelda online is absolutely hard as all heck but just the potential for a Phantom is basically an option select for Ledge trumping. Get a phantom up in good timing, and then just go for a ledge trump. Either way, the opponent (Based on the phantom timing) will either be trumped or get hit (maybe killed) by the phantom.

I just figured this out earlier. I’m not sure if it’s already well known knowledge. But id wanna share this. If you jump forward and press bair on the c stick. You’ll do a back air but in the way you’re facing. I found this out first with mega man. So I’m not sure about other characters yet. It would be cool if you could explore this further.
