The way they carried Maurice was beautiful
The fact that Maurice wasn’t the lead in this song shows his advance stage of his health decline .My musical hero is Maurice .Love and miss him .
He still sings up to Illumination album in 2005.
Parkinson's just got too temperamental for him to perform live up to that point he still sings in EWF album back then.
I am just thankful he was able to be there.
Agreed !!
💔⭐⭐🌹💞💕🌠
Yes and that is his signature song.❤❤❤
The best band in the world!!!!!!
I think of the line from Gratitude..." Allright y'all ..Mr. Andrew Woolfulk on saxophone. Mr. Larry Dunn on piano! Give em some!" 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
The last performance of the Original Divine 9!!!!! Rip Maurice & Andrew!!!!!!
I took my kids to see EWF two years ago, and they're still talking about that experience. At 74 years young, Phillip Bailey is still hitting those outrageous falsettos on Reasons and Way of the World.
For my money Maurice was one of the most underrated vocalist of all time his delivery was one of the cleanest , and rich tones ever, I loved the quality of this dudes vocals !!!
This is a very touching brother helping brother
These are the O.G. 9 members:
Maurice White - Vocals (seated on right)
Philip Bailey - Vocals (standing)
Verdine White - Bass
Larry Dunn - Keyboards
Al McKay - Guitar
Johnny Graham - Guitar (guitar solo)
Ralph Johnson - Vocals (seated left)
Fred White - Drums
Andrew Woolfolk - Saxophone
Don't forget the "Phenix Horns" of Michael Harris, (Trumpet) Rahmlee Davis,(Trumpet) Louis Satterfield (Bass and Trombone)(R.I.P.) and Don Myrick (Saxophone)(R.I.P) All together there sound was power.
Verdine White, man he be energetic onstage! That cat move in double time all the time!!
And of those people, only Maurice & Verdine were there from the start (during the Warner Brothers years).
One of my all-time favorite songs. Some of them are gone, but I still can't wait to see them with Chicago this summer.
All of the originals plus Maurice💖💖💖💖, may he continue to Rest in Heavenly Peace🙏🙏🙏💖
Ms Washington, this enshrinment ceremony took place 20 years ago. Parkinson's took his voice away, but Maurice was still functional
It was also great to bring in (at that time) current members Sheldon Reynolds, B. David Whitworth, and (the late) Robert Brookins.
♥🙏🙏🙏♥
Verdine White, man he be energetic onstage! That cat move in double time all the time!!
Larry Dunn, WAS band director Of EFW! at just 20 yrs old! that's A BAD BROTHER!
So great to hear this in 2020 a live performance of remaining EWF of 20 years ago. 👍👌 😢🥰🌺
RIP Maurice White, we miss you. 🙏🙇♀️💖
Whenever I find myself missing Freddie White, which is often, I watch these R&R HOF performance vids. You never lost your pocket, Bro. ❤👍
Rest in Heavenly Peace Maurice and Andrew🎷🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖🎵🎶
They are both together up there singing and playing with the angels 😇 💖 Their music 🎶 🎵 will live on forever in our hearts.
And please let's not forget Maurice's younger brother Fred on drums also. We're all disciples of EWF!!
The greatest band ever assembled.....
Oh Maurice, what more wonderful compositions would you have made if you hadn't gotten sick? The group still continues with your legacy ...Rest in peace, yo! 🙏🙏🙏
This Audience DID NOT DESERVE this performance. Should have let their TRUE fans have those seats.
Late for the party. But I agree also.
This nearly makes me cry. Such an awesome band. Takes me back to my youth. Still remember that time in my life. No drama no worries just life with my family and friends. 😢
This song has a unique touch additionally when listening to it I can feel my father by my side every day religiously when he took me to school for a good time he played a cassette of greatest hits by Earth, Wind & Fire and this was his favorite song and He made me sing it with him at the top of my lungs, music that wonderful thing that when we listen to it in a magical way if we close our eyes can transport us to unique places and moments............ . ...................... I love you and I will always love you Dad, thanks for making me enjoy this really magical and unique music.
Beautiful memories of your beloved dad will always be with you, especially when you hear this song That's The Way Of The World by Earth Wind & Fire. May your dad rest in God's loving arms. ❤️
Great group, love how they gave vocal support to harmonize with Maurice. RIP Maurice...
Chills & tears...So blessed to have grown up on Earth, Wind & Fire🌎💨🔥 ❣️♐️
Rest in peace my idol, Mr Maurice White. The best band ever, EWF. Your songs will live forever. I love you guys. You are one of my favorite band ever.
Smooth as butter. 😊
So good to see Larry Dunn, Johnny Graham, Al McKay.
I have been noticing his stage presence but did not know his name, but Verdine's, ability to reflect the amazing pulse of the entire group is phenomenal and should be so noted. He has been there for years, expending great energy and maximising the efficacy of the entire group. Love him. He is unique looking, can play that guitar and his moves are great. Love you darling.
Verdine was once described as a 100 lbs of dynamite. Rightfully so . ❤️
Love this band and to see the original line up is 👌.
All I see is an audience that has no idea of the magic they are witnessing.
Lord, I'm trying to not let it bother me. BUT, Mo just touched my heart from heaven and said "If ONE NOTE hit this starch, posing group of hollow souls, it is worth it."
It's disgusting. I know I'm judging and over-reacting, bless my soul.
You could'nt have said it better🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
@@edongreene8761 you hit the nail on the head
I was thinking the same thing. Saw them this year, in the presence of magic, artistry and such soul. The entire crowd stood on their feet dancing, swaying and singing along.
Did you actually watch the entire video?
This was beautiful and seeing all them together just brought back memories of Maurice White and when he was here but I know he is looking down as they carry on the legacy
Wow ❤, Fred is so handsome back there in the drums. Rest in paradise Maurice and Fred❤❤.
I love rock and roll I Love heavy Metal I love death metal punk rock but I love Earth wind and fire and I thank God that they were inducted into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame
One of the best E.W.F. song!❤️ sad for an older Maurice!!😢
Good to see Johnny
He is still amazing!❤❤❤
September was released in late summer ‘78. In September, it was voted Class Song of my Junior High Graduating Class of 1979. I bought that Greatest Hits Vol. 1 and soon had EIGHT EW&F albums including I Am. I used to tease my then 4 year old neighbor, Willie with that album saying his name is, “Will I Am”. Today, it’s his professional name.
wow!
I've been waiting 20 years to see this part!!
Me too
Indeed.... I Concur.
Long Overdue!!!
This is the original lineup. Larry Dunn on keys Andrew Wilfork on saxophne Mc Kay on guitar Maurice White brother on drums. Great band. Rest in peace Maurice White you are truly missed.
Muito feliz as suas falas...valeu
Amen! Give Larry D his propers. The man is a force!
Purtroppo qualche mese fa è venuto a mancare anche Andrew Woolfolk! RIP😔😔

Wowwwweeee ewf,Jonny Graham listening audience is spell bound the music is so pure so good perform by great live musician, still listening radio 2022amann
My first ever concert in 1972. No cell phones then. Great band!!
From left to right: Andrew Woolfork (saxophone), Johnny Graham (lead guitar), Fred White (drums), Ralph Johnson (vocals), Maurice White (vocals), Verdine White (bass), Phillip Bailey (congas & vocals), Al McKay (rhythm guitar), Larry Dunn (keyboards)
That intro is sort of like the album intro to "Evil", with Larry doing a tribute to Maurice's Kalimba solo.
What a great band.
Brings back memories.
Saw them at Kent State in the late 70’s.
Tom Scott opened.
It. Was. Fabulous.
Tom Scott...!
Wow ! What a great show that must have been .
I love these men. Lyrical and musical geniuses who made it all seem so effortless. This was a absolutely silk performance...just so smooth.
Everything stops when EWF are on. Class acts, all. My all time favorite entertainers.
I’m 60 from Brazil , I listen to EWF since I was 14 , my son is 25 born and raised here in this blessed country USA , to this day ( 04.08.23) I get emotional when I see their videos mainly when some of the olde members are playing. Mr. Maurice white could not reach those high notes in this video , but in our hearts he will forever be the soul of EWF. Thanks for posting this beautiful video.
Obrigado por compartilhar essa linda história, irmão. Greetings from your African American family ✊🏿🙏🏿
Truly l agree. I was a still am a fan of Earth Wind & Fire sense of the age of 13 years old. Back in the old school days. Maurice White is truly missed but loved by many. 👍
What a great song! Makes me cry every time I hear it.
Maurice ! Genius !
Ops. in the classic original lineup. super band.
Merci Maurice d’avoir créé ce groupe fantastique , que j’écoutais en 77 et toujours maintenant, Rip Maurice 🙏👍
Omg HOW can they just SIT there...💃💃💃💃🎶🎶🎶👠👠👠
Finally the full performance
Well always love Maurice
My all-time favorite group Rock on Earth Wind and Fire.
You are so right. The audience is so dry, they almost look like they just not feeling it. Well, at least E,W&F did get a standing ovation after the song was done. Thank you E,W&F, I grew up on your music, and enjoy it to this very day.
tight harmony...pleasant to the ears.
The solid OG 9! Love it!!!
This truly a Masterpiece! Thank you EWF ❤
that's the true line up right there ! guitar players , Al Mc kay and Johnny graham went on to write and produce the greatest quintet to ever do it! the TEMPTATIONS! back in the 80's. you can hear Jonny Graham solo on the Temps song, my love is true~it's sweet! as for EWF! the greatest Band to EVER do it! and still doing it !
By the same token, all the young musicians that went on to perform with EWF had some giant shoes to fill.
And each and every one of them have done so in a gigantic way. Plus if you look to the left, you see Robert Brookins, Sheldon Reynolds, and B. David on backup vocals.
@@BassmanII eeYUP
I just realized I forgot to mention Ralph Johnson produced that album with Al. Johnny Graham just on it (& I love it)!

🤗❤❤❤
But the beat goes on. 🎶🎼
One of them damn guitars was feeding back the whole song the singers were fighting to hear themselves. Boo on the sound man.
このグルーヴ感何とも言えない。最高‼️
Arithmetic. It took an absorbing soul to in general "get" EWF, so let's say 16-years old and above. I hit it in 1974 in college. So, in 2000, who's at those tables?
Happy Solar Return, Johnny Graham!
❤❤❤
