Magnifique chanson
Magnifique!
Un cesso di canzone, cantata da una snob classicamente francese, con il naso all’insù e quell’aria da stitica che accomuna tutti i francesi
France should have won this Eurovision 2021. I am Spanish, but this song is beautiful.
I❤️LOVE FRANCE. 🇪🇸
This song is the Frenchest French that France has ever Frenched.
And she is adorable!
@Dominika Miś I'm genuinely curious who you think she copied from?
This was one of the least generic entries this year.
Half of the others were lazy pop rip offs.
Edit: sorry, i now know you meant the comment. Cheers!
@Dominika Miś yeah sorry, i just saw it too.
And that's exactly why she didn't win.
People just don't like the French.
Couldn't tell you why.

She acted and sold that song with such emotion and charisma that I was moved to tears, even though I don’t speak French and have no idea what she is singing about. That’s the power of performance.
She sings of her insecurities and fears as a singer. But also of his fear of loneliness. She explains that she doesn't love herself. And she shows who she really is, hoping that someone will be able to love her
@@only_ylno viola, viola, viola! (This is me! You see). Now i understand
The lyrics are the most beautiful thing
Voilà voilà voilà , voilà qui je suis , même si mise à nue ….j’ai peur ,oui
C’est ma gueule c’est mon cris , me voilà tant pis
(Translation)
There there there , this is who I am , even when exposed….. I’m afraid ,yes
It’s my mouth and my scream , here I am anyways
( not all the words can be directly translated I tried my best as fellow bilingual French and English speaker 😅)
It's more here, here, here, this is who I am, even laid bare, yes im scared
It's my throat and my cry, here I am nonetheless
This is not only one of France's best entries but also one of the best performances we have seen on the Eurovision stage.
True, and that she didn't win is just plain weird. The Italians were not near as good.

@@eimantas6405 ridiculous comment, the Italians were the worst in the entire contest, proving you guys bought off all the judges in order to win; the French song was the most emotional and authentic one. Nothing from Italy is authentic, certainly not the music. If Italians want to win prizes, they need to go full maffia on the competition; and you know this is a fact. That is "what I mean".

This is called chanson française done right.
Used to be a standard in France. Not so rare today but not so common either.
Something few people outside of France seem to notice is that she wrote the song on her own, in the tradition of the greatest French singers who were also great lyricists. No wonder that she lives the whole song it as if she was singing it from the deepest depths of her soul: she is.

I sometimes think that modern studio production sucks the life out of voices. It's like they want each millisecond to be on pitch and they end up taking out the grit of the voice.

No need to go for depressing ballads and minimalistic sets because your country is too cheap to pay for the add-ons just cause the subscription was already that pricey. What a ridiculously clear "I haven't been watching the past 20 years" response.
It is still beyond me why this song didn't win. It has everything in it that makes music beautiful.
i feel that the cinematography and movement from the camera at the end was underappreciated, it made the dramatic conclusion to the song so powerful
Yes. This was overwhelmingly the greatest visual performance of the night and you're right - the climax was utterly fantastic, so skillfully and professionally crafted. You very rarely see anything like for a musical performance, the emotional impact was just something beyond. The lights were so beautiful and the minimalism so powerful.
@@WennAde I agree so much with you, i have just posted a message that say that in french :)
It felt like a movie
cette artiste e meravilleux je l aime boucoup. la chancon est la vincitrece de cette festival.
It's my favourite part of the performance! At this moment I totally forget that it's a live performance, because it looks like in a movie or music video. The whole song feels very intimate. You get the impression that there is no big stage, no audience, no camera, just her and her passionate voice.
Translation :
Listen to me
Me, the wannabe singer
Talk about me, to your lovers, to your friends
Tell them about this black-eyed girl and her crazy dream
Me, what I want, it’s writing stories that reach you
It’s all (nothing more)
Voilà, voilà, voilà, voilà, this is who I am
There I am even if bare naked, I am scared
Yes, there I am in the noise, in silence
Look at me or at least what’s left
Look at me before I start hating myself
What can I tell you that another girl’s lips won’t tell you
It’s not much but me, everything that I have
I am putting it right here (in front of everyone’s eyes)
Voilà, voilà, voilà, voilà this is who I am
There I am even if bare naked, it’s over
This is my face, my shout(cry)
There I am, too bad
Voilà, voilà, voilà, voilà, right here
Me, My dream, my desire
How I die, how I laugh
There I am in the noise and in the silence
Don’t leave me, I beg you, stay longer
It might not save me, no
But I don’t know how to do it without you
Love me, the way you love a friend who’s leaving forever
I want people to love me
Because I, I don’t really know how to love myself
Voilà, voilà, voilà, voilà, this is who I am
There I am even if bare naked, it’s over
There I am in the noise and in fury too
Look at me finally, and my eyes, my hands
Everything that I have is right here
It’s my face, it’s my shout(cry)
Voilà, there I go, voilà, there I go, voilà
Voilà, voilà, voilà ladadidada, ladadidada
dadada, dadada, dadada, ladadadada
Voilà
I'm sorry in advance if this translation is not able to do justice to the real song and lyrics, I am french and my english is not the best. I just loved it so much that I wanted people to be able to experience the lyrics aswell.
Edit : I wanted to thank @Mad dog for finding a better way of translating "wannabe singer ", I really appreciate it and thanks again !
Also thank you to everyone saying this is a good translation, I am not a professional yet but I appreciate it a lot ! This song is a real piece of art.
Ty 😊
I know nothing about French but this was how I pictured the lyrics in my head! Thank you!
Thank you for this ❤️
Thank you so much for this! her performance is already telling how emotional and poetic it is so do not worry about that
Merci :)
The biggest dillema of Eurovision's history Was Måneskin or Barbara Pravi.
It was an outstanding edition that was ultimately won by the spirit of that time. The love of chaos over this, peacefull but powerfull performance.
Either one could have won.
One of the most beautiful songs in eurovision and among most fantastic cinematography.
I don't speak French but damn this WOMAN spoke to me on more than one level. Amazing, showstopping, spectacular, unique, beautiful.
ok
it is just a plagiarism of the immense true artist Edith Piaf. There is no soul there and I call it theft and slaughter.
@@AMB56 Doesnt change the fact it was amazing.
(In English) You are not French, why are you saying that? We could give it an Edith Piaf side but it's a way of singing, her voice, her emotions, belong to her. There is a huge amount of work behind this song so don't make that kind of point.
@@karineetsebelkan2349 Completely agree, its not the genre of the song or what its similiar too, its the emotion, the power, the voice, the confidence, the BARBARA PRAVI
French people are minimalists but they do it always so elegant i don't even understand how
Yeah, in the song theres only the word "voilà" but this girl made it so catchy
Paris represent :)
Less is sometimes more.
like Portuguese people 😍
Merci ❤️🇫🇷
she killed it. She deserves the highest honors. The performance of a lifetime.
I’m still here in 2024 listening to this masterpiece
She is like a Broadway singer, her acting and singing is on maximum level.
I cried.
The thing is, it is not acting. Thats just barbara showing her emotions 😍
@@EEY-ie8bt whatever it is - she is brilliant and unique at it! 💯💯🖤🖤
idk if we should mix brodway culture in frenchs
Same, i’ve cried my eyes out.. so beautiful
For those who don't understand French :
That's the story of "someonone" who cannot believe in her dreams and who needs the support of everyone around her. That can be the singer herself because she says "this black-eyed woman and her crazy dream". Maybe her crazy dream was to win Eurovision song contest ? We don't know. She just "wants to write story that hurt people in their heart and soul". And Barbara Pravi wrote the lyrics and the music.
She is full of scars, she barely not exists. Sometimes, she doesn't like herself. She needs people to look at her to feel better.
She just used to stand in front of people and do what she does the best : singing, be nude in front of everyone who's staring at her at this particular moment. She exists at this right moment because people make her existing.
Is she better than another singer ? No. But the difference is there : she gives everything, always. She puts everything she has inside her on the floor.
Well, that's the story of someone who doesn't trust herself but when she's making her thing, everything is ok.
And so, what happens when the lights shut off ? Is she continuing to exist ? Her voice continues in our head, her story too. But what about her ?
Exactly, and her performance felt so real, so full of emotion... She really deserved to win
omg thanks
Seems very much my story! 💕
Thanks for the explanation!
Thank you!
Thank you so much
THIS performance deserved to win...
