I tried your recipe the other day; best homemade burger I've ever had! The onion with lemon juice was great, garlic in the burger was awesome and the melted cheese (thanks to the genius idea of pouring some water in the pan) took the burger to another level! I'm definitely going to make a lot more burgers at home now!
I love how excited you get about cooking! Most of the adults in my life hate to cook, but you make it look fun :) also these burgers look like they were straight out of a magazine!

Yum! I make mine with some sweet date and fig relish, rocket, swiss cheese and I use pork mince instead, with turkish bread buns toasted with a drizzle of olive oil. :0) Gotta try this one though all those flavours combined, yum! The quick pickled onions are so clever!

I love doing burgers on the stove, too! I've got a recipe I love for pineapple burgers on the grill but they work the same on the stovetop. Either way, all tasty stuff and great video!!!

Isn't Gruyère a swiss cheese, The original at least? And the sauce is really easy to pronounce: Wooooooooooostersauce - Wooostershire. Crazy way to pronounce such a fancy word.

Gruyère is indeed swiss. Not what Americans call "Swiss Cheese" though - that'd be Emmentaler. But yeah I was literally about to post that when I saw your comment ;)

Don't you pronounce it "Woostersheersauce" (kinda phonetically written but not really :D)?! I mean in the name of the town of Wocester the "ce" is silent so it's pronounced "Wooster"
Gruyère is more expensive than other cheeses, I've been told this is because it takes considerably more milk to make than other varieties.
In Switzerland pricewise it's comparable to other cheeses... wouldn't know about the amount of milk needed for production in comparison to other types though...
Both French gruyère and Swiss gruyère exist actually. The difference is that the French one has holes in it.

Those look positively delicious! Point of regional pride, though: Gruyère cheese comes from the Gruyères region of the Swiss canton of Fribourg (my ancestral homeland). If the same cheese comes from France, it's Comté cheese.

Yeah Gruyère is a village with a castle in switzerland.
*Gruyere is region. It also happens to have a village with a castle. The cheese produced in Switzerland can only be called Gruyere if the cows have been brought up and fed in the Gruyere region and lands.

Typically in America we try not to work too much seasoning into the burger or work it too much because the warmth of your hands will break down the essential fat in the mince, which makes the burger fall apart too easily. instead we season the outside of the burger, and make a well in the middle of the patty to prevent the burger from over contracting while it cooks making an oval. overall looks tasty; just a few thoughts from your loving cousins across the pond.
really good recipe; looks like the burger is actually giving the cheese an added smokey flavor! there must be something about that tomato sauce caramelizing the meat. but the water could go in earlier or reduce heat if some ppl dnt want the super caramelization
