How will Vegas look in 5 years? 🤔

bankrupt
They'll be at the same level as today's Coyotes
Bad
hoping a cup winning team for sure we still have good players this downfall wont last long
This video has officially won the award when it comes to doing the best job of aging like milk.
The single most impressive thing the Knights have done is become the league-wide heel in just 5 years. It takes most rivalries literally generations to develop the hatred from opposing fan bases - and Vegas did it to the entire league, in half-a-decade.
I know a lot of people that love Vegas as their second favorite team including myself
I would have agreed with you before the cup final, but holy hell… Tampa and it’s fans after this most recent final made VGK and their fan base look like angels. Most classless, sore-losers I’ve ever come across in 22 years of being a die-hard hockey fan…

It's not just that Fleury got traded, but also how it was done. Right after he won the Vezna and publicly stated he wanted to retire as a Golden Knight, he finds out he got traded via twitter. Absolutely disgusting
Vezina* Just for future reference
@@sozeytozey Thank you 👍
Well that’s what happens when you suck, you get traded. Pretty simple to understand. Also doesn’t help when your agent (Walsh) is a snowflake bitch that posts a giant sword with the HC name on it while his clients team is in the playoffs (aka fleury and VGK), it’s evident that he was trying to divide the locker room.
Didn’t find out via Twitter. That was a lie. He was told for over a year they were shopping him. But the facts are as exciting as the false narrative being pushed by clowns for likes.
@@prettynormalguy3169 He was told they were shopping him, not that he had been traded. You understand those are different things, right?
If Vegas keeps trading away valuable players for free, I don’t see players wanting to sign with them because most likely they will get traded for absolutely nothing.
It’s not even the trading away valuable players. It’s the showing 0 loyalty to anyone that signs that there.they are legit treating their franchise like it’s nhl 22 franchise Mode. And it’s going to bite them in the ass. When fall to the bottom of the league and they have no picks to get them out of it. No one will trade with them to get them out .
You have to get under the cap though or it is hard to win.
Well, it's working well for them this year. In the western conference final.
The way they treated Flower was what turned me against them😳😡

Whose here after Vegas won the cup
As of this week, the Vegas Knights just proved all the haters their system worked lol.
WEEEE ARE THE CHAMPIONS MY FRIENDS
The moves they've made have shown us how little the front office understood what made the Golden Misfits a special group. Seems like the Knights front office treated their roster as you would in a video game / hockey sim. This type of management can only lead to a disconnect between players and management. Shifting this culture and image needs to be a priority, with meaningful action taken.
Yzerman and BriseBois considered the human/off ice element just as much as how the player can make the team better on the ice. Since these athletes are human beings with families first, and hockey players second, it's really just common sense.
Welcome to the world of the Predators. Until our ownership seriously wants to win, we are stuck with Poile and his hot garbage pile of trades. He was good 5 years ago.
No truth to this ! He was not worth 7 .5 million a year and giving up starting players for him to remain. Why did he not take a pay cut ? Like he did now with Minn Wild to 3 .5 million a year !
@@coryray8804 You mean Fleury, right? He couldn't take a paycut. He was under contract through 2021-22, and was traded following the 2020-21 season.

@@coryray8804 that’s not true at all. You can not re-negotiate contracts in the NHL 🤡
Vegas was such a good story year one, too bad the management blew it
Well, the league blew it with the Eakin major penalty in year two (and Fleury choking and giving up 4 goals in two minutes). They made the Conf Final last year.... They had one bad year when they also had over 500 man games lost to injuries (many to top players). They haven't blown it yet. That remains to be seen..............................................

I think Vegas being so good for the first couple of seasons was the worst thing that could have happened to them
no. It was the shiny helmets....
OMFG bro for real. Those shiny ass helmets dude so effing whack.
thats the nature of the business in NHL. They built up the hype to secure a fanbase but had to offload contracts to retain some cashflow and of course horrible trades along the way. TBH, VGK is doing exactly how I foresaw things however the 1st 2 seasons, that was very impressive. VGK aint reaching SCF anytime soon, at least a decade IMO
@@blackrocks8413 Shiny helmets worked for the Kings tho...
Set the bar high
Let's not forget the botched Evgenii Dadonov to the Anaheim Ducks - a team that was in the list of teams Dadonov didn't want to be traded to. But Vegas will claim that they didn't know and that Ottawa failed to give them the list, but the league didn't buy into that and voided the trade. In the end they've traded him to the Canadiens to absorb Shea Weber's contract
Another example of the shenanigans of our incredibly, inexcusably shitty front office.
I know Gold Team Bad, but your comment is wrong. The NHL Approved the trade, because they along with the knights were told his NMC List was invalid. But why lets facts get in the way of your jealousy
@@Hated_Sien An interesting stance since you are ignoring the facts yourself. Vegas management is so bad about communicating with their players that something like this could happen. But makes sense from a franchise with such little class that their original face of the franchise found out he was traded for absolutely nothing via Twitter. How could Vegas possibly be expected to know what Dadonov's list was?
@@Hated_Sien why would any team/fan be jealous of Vegas? I can assure you not a single person who's involved in the NHL/any fan that watches hockey is jealous of the debacle that has been the Knights.

They're a true representation of Vegas as a city. Putting all their chips at the middle of the table and going for broke. They're basically run like NHL 22 franchise mode.
The people who come to Vegas to gamble are the ones putting their chips in the middle of the table and going for broke, not the city of Vegas itself. The city is the one sitting back and cashing in on all the idiots.
I run a responsible NHL 22 mode, I've applied analytics to my roster just like the movie money ball

Bet of the day: who will get into the playoffs first, Buffalo or Eichel?
My bet is on Buffalo!
@@pierreoconnor5635 Mine is on Buffalo too. Now that they've got rid of the managerial stone around their neck that was Eichel, it's already clear that they're on the way up while VGK keeps finding new ways to screw up everything about themselves! 😝
$500 on Vegas with Eichel.
It's Buffalo n I can't wait for the look on Eichel's face
Neither
Trading Nick Suzuki was a mistake from the Knights now he's an all star player that has high potential of becoming an NHL star.
I’ve lived in Vegas all my life and the knights are the reason I even started playing hockey here. They really were the best thing out here and brought the city together at the time. Really sucks what happened to them and what they are now.
Finally - a real Vegas fan!
It's nice to hear something positive.. like a kid who started playing hockey cuz of the knights. That's awesome !
We were doing a lot street hockey & pond games during the Bobby Orr era!
That's when the Bruins really took off in boston, Bobby Orr and Derek Sanderson were responsible for 99% of the new female Bruins fans lol!
So Vegas needs to find their "Bobby Orr" era. One player that brings fans, the coach, the head office together.
That requires loyalty and I'm not hearing a lot of loyalty coming out of Vegas. You could speak to that more than I
Funny how these things affect us as kids, stay with us over a lifetime. I have a lot of great family memories - I remember the first color event I saw on our first color TV in the 70's was black and gold!
We've had to put up with a lot of nonsense over the years, I've had to defend the likes of Brad Marchand!
Just stick to your players, don't let your colors run. Team owners GMS players come and go - the fan base should always support players.
I don't know how long but he's going to last, but Cassidy is a good coach if they will let him do his job. He lost the locker room with my Boston boys, his "do your job follow the system" doesn't work on seasoned veterans, can't micromanage players that way
But his arrogance and stubbornness could certainly do well for Vegas
He doesn't get along that great with head office executives. But if the fans stand around him, hold their ground.. he might be able to bring your fan base back together
I have a feeling Vegas fans are going to like him - he doesn't give a crap! He's right, and you're wrong!
So that might help..
hang in there, I was sorry to see the disrespect of Fluery, that's why I came to this video.
I'm into goalies
I don't know if it's true but rumors have it that Andre found out he was fired on Twitter?
If that is the truth, then take down that executive office!
Maybe you can borrow some Canadian fans who'll burn jerseys and flip over cars 🙄
I'm just having fun. Enjoy the season
there's always going to be great highlights.
And Cassidy just might surprise you.
Fluery doesn't deserve this treatment nor the accusations flying around him at this point in his career.
It's strange. I don't know this world anymore!
I'm just going to stay in Alaska
I am also born and raised in Las Vegas, unlike you though I don't stop being a fan because of one lousy season. 🏆 2023 Stanley Cup Champions 🏆
Knights in 2017...sitting pretty with a bunch of side trades and no salary cap issues of note...knights in 2021-2022 suffocating under the salary cap and trading away key pieces just to stay afloat in the wildcard race. People question what the Kraken were doing at the expansion draft etc, but (a) other GM's weren't doing all the side deals, (b) good players unfortunately didn't break out like the Knights (face facts, no M.A.F, no Stanley cup finals) and (c) I cannot help but wonder if the Kraken brain trust didn't look at the knights situation and say, maybe better to start off with a solid, if mediocre, base but a strong future (full of reasonable contracts), rather than a meteoric start only to come crashing down, and having mortgaged the future, just as the novelty of an NHL team starts to wane in a couple more years.
Kraken drafted middle class players to build their future. Imo pretty smart
You didn't follow this team in '21-'22 or are clueless on what actually happened.
The injuries were devastating... there is no debate....yet they were still in it until the last week of the season where they admittedly choked with the worst shoot out performances in history.
EVERYONE loves MAF, but somehow forget he not only only allowed 4 power play goals on a 5 minute major midway through the 3rd erasing a 3 goal lead to the sharks; but also gave up the OT goal for the loss....a series they lost after having a 3-1 lead.
Did you forget MAF handing Montreal the tying goal on that aborted clearing attempt from behind the net with seconds left only to lose in OT in the conference finals??....a move i was told he'd done before in Pittsburgh.
MAF was traded twice more after the Knights unceremoniously let him go....he is loved, but not the answer.
If they had won a few cups, the win at all costs gameplan would have been genius.....
The next few years will tell how badly they fvked up their future....but right now it's all chicken little sh1t.
@@jeffp8850
Bullshit....they picked the best that was available.
There's a reason the knights were called the misfits after the original draft....nobody expected the cast-offs from other teams to have the break out year(s) they did.
Vegas has always struck me as place that might have fair weather hockey fans. I doubt they ever have too much trouble filling the football stadium, and while Hockey is a must have experience, it doesn't come close to the grandness and scale of going to an NFL game.
@@johnpeters9793 How do you know? There weren't many "cast-off's" on the Knights, but lots of players other teams didn't want to lose. The Knights were largely a roster of players other teams had to let go because of salary cap issues.
They’re actually playing good hockey. It’s amazing what happens when a team doesn’t lose some of the best players to injury.
Me being a knights fan for the past 5 years made me realize how toxic the NHL Fandom is 💀

The guy is a stud and I'm really looking forward to seeing him starting a new season healthy and rested.
Well Rob when are we getting a sequel? Stanley Cup Champions!!!
As a Yinzer, seeing Fleury get rooked like that hurts. Even if he wasn’t with us, it’s like watching an old friend get screwed over.
What they did to fluery was unforgivable. That man played his heart out, left his team (penguins) to Kickstart the franchise for the knights. Just to boot him to the curb and didn't even have the respect to let him know they traded him.
And here comes the bullshit lies being repeated once again. Fleury didn't "leave" the penguins, the penguins gave the Knights picks to make sure they took him. They were done with him, they wanted him gone. Even make Penguin fans were happy he was gone.
And the news about his trade broke BEFORE it was made official by the NHL. Players dont get told they are traded before the NHL signs off on it. But again, facts mean nothing to you clearly.
@@Hated_Sien you claim I'm ignoring facts yet you're ignoring the fact that fluery lifted his no trade clause so Vegas can take him over Murray. And excuse me for thinking a player should be notified by their team they are traded before fucking Twitter finds out. But go ahead. Keep acting like you're head shit
@@Hated_Sien Yes he was told. The issue is that before he had 2 seconds to soak it in and address the issue with fans they were blasting it all over twitter almost immediately after they told him. It was a terrible, horrible way to treat someone like that. Sorry you can't see that.
@@AdamSternberg So, a trade that was not approved by the NHL was leaked to the media and you think its the Teams fault?
Or is it more likely, his Agent, Allan fucking Walsh, the guy who made the Sword tweet which Fleury approved, made statements 3 weeks before the trade saying Fleury was willing to do a team friendly deal. KNOWING that he still had a year of his 7 million deal left and a "Team Friendly" deal wouldnt help the team that season. This is the same Walsh that purposefully made managers jobs hell to the point that ALL of his players were traded in the last 14 months.
yeah, lets trust that guy.
@254zero LMAO Fleury didn't leave his team to Kickstart Vegas, pens wanted to dump him and made sure Vegas would take the bait.
This video is not aging well as of November 2022.
Vegas one of the top teams at the moment.
Funny how this video basically talks about Vegas having one slightly off season (despite being the only expansion team in franchise history to legitimately contend for a league championship in their first season) and now, at the Xmas break, they're clearly the best team in the division and one of the best road teams in like 3 decades.
And now in the western conference final. People just like to hate.
I love Vegas. Great team and great combination of players. Oh yeah, they won the cup this year dummies.
As a VGK who lives here, everything you’re saying is facts. I feel so bad for the players and the person who need to be traded is the GM McCrimmon that guy is dog cheeks. I have 4 VGK sweaters and all of the players have been traded away, makes me not wanna buy anymore sweaters tbh it’s a shame
I believe the General Manager of the Golden Knights is George McPhee.
you forgot about the Dadonov sage. He was one of their best player last year, got traded to Anahein, trade was nixed by the NHL, then came back, was still really good then got traded again in the Summer for a retired player.
I grew up playing pond and cranberry bog hockey and started out as a Bruins fan back in 1968 and so have seen it all. Moved to Sarasota in 1987 and embraced the Lightning since their inception. Suffered through some terrible seasons but the loyalty has paid off in spades.
Lol I live in sarasota too. Am new to hockey my home town didn't have a team so now I cheer on the bolts!!
Honestly I am so angered with not only how our fans have acted during the existence of the knights but also how atrocious our front office is. It’s just entirely a mess.
yeah Vegas fans were spoiled in the sense that they didn't have to go through the typical expansion team teething problems. I think if they did, they wouldn't be so inflexible and just unknowledgeable.
Vegas fans will be going through a lot of pain for the next decade.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd think after making it to the Stanley Cup in year one, maybe you'd just... not change things? Maybe this is a team that can get even better with some good draft picks. Seems like the front office taking an overly active role and not trusting the coaching staff and players.
With all do respect, this is exactly how I imagined a team in Chaos City to be ran and rooted for. It's Vegas Baby

i still laugh my head off while watching this. (as a knights fan) they are just jealous lolol
The way Vegas is run almost reminds me of a CHL team with how quickly the cycle through players without thinking of potential long term consequences. Old habits dying hard maybe? If you imagine McCrimmon making these same types of moves in the dub with the Wheat Kings, when windows open and close significantly faster than the NHL, and there's little need for long term considerations when most guys age out or graduate to the NHL in 2-3 years, they make a fair bit more sense.
Funny you should say that. The current general manager of the Vegas Golden Knights - one Kelly McCrimmon - owned The Brandon Wheat Kings for close to 20 years, and was its general manager for 31 years.
The golden knights have had the 5th least amount of roster turnover in the league since 2018
this aged well
At least the first Cup is won 🙌🏻
I love the Peter Chiarelli comparison made here, Rob! If we’re going be unloading on Chiarelli for nearly the same thing, why not in this instance?! Fair is fair. Although one could argue to a point that at least Vegas made some efforts to improve their team by acquiring Pietrangelo and Eichel. That may end up blowing up in their faces in the end but the intent we can see was there.
Great video once again, Rob. You’re the people’s champ! :)
Lmao knowing VGK and how their execs are mentally falling apart one can actually see them hire Peter as gm.

It’s actually pretty funny when you look at that end result. They’ve basically traded tons of great players, picks and prospects for what? Eichel and Ptrangelo? They can’t even ice their current roster while being cap compliant. Honestly after all the crap they pulled with Fluery and other players I’m happy to see this franchise fizzle out so quickly.
I've been against them ever since I saw one of their obnoxious playoff pregame shows. I mean, I guess it's vegas so it's gotta be showy, but I found it annoying and thus I hate the team. The dumb trades is a plus to me at this point.

As much as we may hate to admit it, Gary Bettman is mainly responsible for the present prosperity for the league and the players.

They treat players as chips in a Business. I hope they never win the Stanley Cup...
You're 100% right, but I can guarantee all good GMs think of their players as assets. They have just taken into consideration the players feelings, and keep them involved throughout the process. From what I hear, the Knights are disconnected from their management. That creates rifts and toxicity.
@@extraordinarilybasic3250 I guess on the work force employees are also considered assets. You definitely brought up a great point. They might win the cup for 20 years and I hope it happens
I’m thinking the executives are thinking, “We’re in Vegas, this city will be such a draw for free agents that we don’t have to worry about being loyal to players. Any free agent is going to seriously consider signing here like they would in NY or L.A. Who doesn’t want to play in a city that has beautiful weather 365 days a year and has everything a city can offer”.
They forgot one thing, hockey players aren’t football, basketball or baseball players. The money they make isn’t close to being the same and neither are their upbringings and morals.
Vegas is so brutally hot you'll spend the entire time indoors anyway.
That's the mentality of the city though, isn't it? Razzle-dazzle them here so that they don't see what's happening over there, only for them to fail to see that people outside of their fanatic base aren't trusting their over-hyped salesmanship!
Hate tell you, but players still want to play in Vegas. Why do you think Tkachuk listed Vegas as one of the teams he wanted to play for? Not just the taxes, but because the team wants to win.
@@roofpizza1250 It's "brutally hot" for about 6-8 weeks, the rest of the "summer months, say April - October" have no humidity and it's tolerable. Thanks. We’ll need it! Although, recently, he has started to become involved in the community. At our annual Golden Knights versus Raiders softball game, he hit a couple of home runs and actually did a somersault to home plate to the applause of fans. I can prove that fans outside Vegas hated us, just by bringing up the bullshit about the NHL rigging the playoffs for the knights to win the cup. Yet month before that every single expert said the Knights would be a horrible team and that we blew the expansion draft.
Most "Likable" Team in the league
I was introduced to NHL in 1966 by my new husband, a Chicago native. I find it the Best Sport of all, and was lucky to follow the Pens in early 2000s. I had high hopes for VGKs...but Foley, McCrimmon ( who?), whoever, have destroyed this team. I am delighted Fleury and the "Outcasts" are elsewhere !!
Don't blame Foley; if not for him we wouldn't even have a team here. He pays McCrimmon to do a job, and next season's outcome will determine if McCrimmon will get the boot or regain credibility, IMO.
And the Knights are a better team now then their first year.

Other than stealing good and great players during the entry draft, Vegas has shown a real character flaw in the how they show loyalty. All teams learned how not to let that entry draft debacle happen again, So. aside from just being a business, Toronto anybody, Vegas is only in it to pad the coffers for the owner.
"Stealing good players?" That is fucking funny. We got a bunch of 3rd liners, 2 washed up stars and used that to get to the cup. Teams like Florida were begging us to take players like Marchy away from them, even giving us Smith to make it happen. We were given picks to make sure we took guys like Tuch, Theodore, karllsonn. All BIG STARS for the teams we got them from..
Toronto's perpetual losing is my winning..its like the Cubs...Its so delicious to watch them choke out and lose again and again and again!!!..Then their pathetic fans cry and cry...I LOVE it!
(PS Im IN Toronto...Go Bruins!)
They didnt "steal" players, they drafted them according the the rules the league set out. And I, like many, thought the front office was on crack when they announced their team as they drafted players that were far weaker on paper than what was available at the time. They were smart and drafted guys hungry to prove themselves. But then they blew it all up with bad choice after bad choice.
Could be that they have egos that fill an ocean. After all, never give power to anyone who faces no consequences for doing wrong.
I'm sure someone else has mentioned this in the comments, but they also traded away their grit and toughness and another fan favorite in Ryan Reaves. For anyone who says the days of "the enforcer" are gone, consider that in the previous three full seasons that Reaves was there, they were in the top five in hits, outhitting opponents by a 2 to 1 ratio nightly. Last season, after they shipped him out to NY, they were 27th, and the ratio flip-flopped. The significance here is they were absorbing twice as many hits as they would dish out, and that takes a toll as the season goes on...2021-22 was an injury-plagued season because McCrimmon wanted more 4th line scoring. How'd that work out Kelly?
I understood why Reaves was traded, but he's literally the only player I have on my sweater. I've got a blank, and a Reaves sweater. A bit of a slap in the face for me.
This video is not really age well, Thompson is a beast out there, and even with horrible injurys are dominating.
This video wasn't about the fact Vegas would be bad in the near future. It was about a collection of horrible asset management which has hindered their future.
@@RobTalksHockey well considering they're in the western conference final after soundly beating edmonton, I'd say this was a bad take bud. Can't get them all right.
@@RobTalksHockey yeah sure we got rid of patches and flower for nothing, but what just happend?? (we won the cup lol)
The Edmonton Oilers entered the NHL for the 1979-80 season as one of four World Hockey Association teams that joined the League. The Oilers immediately made the playoffs with a late-season winning streak, finishing with 69 points behind a skinny kid by the name of Wayne Gretzky. Then they won 4 Cups 4 years later. Gotta get your facts straight.
Does that count as an expansion team though? given that it was an already complete team joining the league due to the two leagues being merged.
@@reaganharder1480 That is a very good point. But, think about the players that were drafted for the Knights - they were all NHL players. The Oilers were WHL players. I consider the WHL expansion because they did not just move cities like Atlanta or Hartford... They moved leagues. But - you made an excellent point!
Great video rob
I’m a golden knights fan so I speak for all the fans of the golden knights. FIRE KELLY MCRIMION. It’s his bad decisions as gm is the reason the golden knights are in the problem in the first place.
Here here
All I’m gonna say, is that with McPhee as the GM, the team did pretty good… then McCrimmon took over, tanked the entire team, and is now the face of the league punching bag
At this point, even Vegas doesn’t like how Vegas treats their players, they just like the players
Man, Vegas sure has had a downfall sitting at 1st in the pacific and 4th in the league, too bad
Great content here. Thank you
This aged well
How has this video aged?
One thing to remember is they changed the expansion draft right before vgk entering and a couple teams making boneheaded agreements with vgk right before vgk coming in led to them walking in with a stacked team out of the gate.
But not a playoff team and certainly not a Cup contender right out of the gate. The new expansion rules made it so they had a chance to be competitive, but that's all. The same expansion rules applied to Seattle, so there's the proof that the draft wasn't designed for instant success.
@@vegasmobydick exactly. It was designed to make sure the expansion team wasn't going to lose 70 games. People aren't focusing on how dumb other franchises are.
This is the first video titled The Depressing Downfall of the Vegas Golden Knights in Vegas Golden Knights history
We’re just gonna skip over one of the worst blown calls in nhl history in the second year? And the 500 Man games lost this year missing the playoffs? 😂
GOLD TEAM BAD.
These fucking clowns will ignore all of the massive trades made by other teams where star players were shipped out.
Having one of the oldest rosters in the nhl is a choice they made, so that comes with injury concerns.
As a sharks fan this warms my heart seeing more shit getting thrown at vegas
As an Avs fan, same here. 😂
As a Kings fan, it’s nice knowing we all have common enemy here in California 😂
As a jets fan love to see vegas struggling
As a fan of any team other than Vegas it warms our hearts
As a Canucks fan we support this movement
So right now, being a good chunk into the 22-23 season, they’re playing well. Haven’t heard a whole lot of crazy news about trades and other drama. Hopefully that means they’re starting to address and fix some of those problems.
Finished the season with the best record in the west and as of last night, won our second round series against edmonton 4 games to 2 and are waiting on the winner of tonight's dallas/seattle game to see who they play in the conference final. They turned it around real quick after missing the playoffs for the first time.
I’ve watched this video 6 times now… I just love the way you explain it! Keep up the good wotk
i watched this vid once, to know that it is silly nonsense. as a knights fan. y'all are just jeaulous lol
@@sweetsourspicybitter maybe we are... but yall are spoiled af. go party with your fellow 1-week old hockey fans in vegas
@@sweetsourspicybitter nothing agains vegas before i commented so buzz off
They still have a great roster with one of the best Defences in the league. If they stay healthy this year, they could easily win the Pacific. A lot of ‘ifs’ though.
Still WAY above the cap, even after shedding Pacioretty and Dadonov for literally nothing.
Winning the Pacific means beating the Oilers, and while the Flames went backwards big time this off season the Oilers got stronger and the Vegas D is very good but they arent stopping Conor and company from getting their points so unless they can find a way to offensively compete with them (they cant) I think the best you can hope for is #2 in the Pacific
@@Ravendarat the Oilers may win in terms of star power, but they still lack big time in the depth department.
Biggest "if" is if they can score 5 or more goals per game. I'm sorry to say it but that's what it will take with Lehner in net.
No one actually believes it cause very very very rarely do these types of toxic situations breed champions.
Lord stanly
THANK you for calling attention to the horrible Tatar trade. I (as a Red Wing fan, of all things) have maintained that this is one of the worst trades in recent memory but it somehow escapes people.
It was unheard of to have this much success early. Vegas has just set itself back on the path most expansion teams take. Learning through mistakes and being bad at the beginning.
With all due respect, I can tell I'm dealing with much younger hockey fans
When they put together that Vegas team, we knew damn well they were doing it for the gambling revenues - that's when internet started coming in with gambling internet sites - for the first time we saw a lot of money going toward hockey gambling
There's no way in hell Vegas Mafia was going to let those revenues out the door they weren't even gambling sites based in the USA cuz it wasn't legal!
But the USA doesn't control the World Wide Web
So they found a way to legalize It
Vegas bought that first team, they knew what they were doing, they got attention of the hockey world for a rea$on
look on all team podcasts whether they are NHL sponsored or not. Who are they advertising as sponsors for hockey podcasts?
Gambling sites- this happened since Vegas took over, NHL went along with it to expand the league
and Vegas is an extremely successful team in their eyes because they have brought billions in gambling revenue through hockey.
When you challenge them on it? They'll say it's good for the game - when we expand revenues we increase the salary cap and the players get more!
If the players are getting more pennies, how many dollars are the executives getting?
As far as the NHL is concerned, they've got big new wealthy sponsors - this whole thing is been a great success
I think Vegas fans should go to the NHL executives.. they allowed this knowing exactly what was going to happen
Gambling revenues took over hockey revenues
They sponsor the NHL now-
I don't understand why there isn't some sort of conflict of interest?
For me vegas became one of my most hated teams in the league during last years playoffs ( habs-vegas series) and my reasoning is because the golden knights were getting away with murder ( missed an obvious high stick on corey perry and mcnabb giving two jabs at suzuki) i felt like they paid the refs to make these questionable calls thank god the habs won in the end cause i would hate them even more than i already do
They didnt pay the refs, the refs are just horrid in the playoffs. This year was a great example, every series all the way through had questionable officiating just like last years, and the years before. The league needs to get a handle on this and stop with the BS attitude of "let the guys play". Forget that, call the game the way the rules are written and remove the controversy, then as fans if our team loses we know its because they got out played and not because they got robbed
Shambles and a ticking time bomb huh….this video didn’t age well. Stanley Cup Champs. Go Knights!
If you look up the definition of loyalty....you'll see a picture of flower right next to the word.
We miss you here in the burgh Marc.
Nobody expected the Knights to be Cup finalists and regular threats.
Gerard Gallant did a brilliant job getting the entire team to buy into his system and it paid off.
Management and ownership expected a Cup win from a team that was largely (aside from Fleury who is now gone) the Bad News Bears and foolishly got rid of him.
He took them places they had no business going, and won’t likely see again for years.
8 months removed from when you made this comment and the Knights are in the west finals awaiting either Seattle or Dallas. Talk about a comment not aging well.
I’ve hated this organization from day 1; being in Vegas, the bandwagon love, and the tacky presentation…but man, even I didn’t think it would be THIS bad. I LOVE it 😂
Found the jealous sharks fan
@@Hated_Sien 1) I'm an Avs fan and 2) literally everyone else hates VGK now.
@@Dutchovenderlinde Just a different kind of bandwagon, still a bandwagon.
@@Hated_Sien Crazy how anyone who is a fan of a Stanley Cup champion team is just automatically called a fucking bandwagoner. You don't know anything about me and my fandom. Any fan who had to witness the shitshow of the 2016-17 Avs season is in no way a bandwagoner.
I only made that bandwagon comment because I saw so many fans of other teams rushing to say they were Vegas fans because it was "cool".
@@Dutchovenderlinde is the education system in Colorado doing that badly that you can’t tell I said the hate Vegas is getting is a bandwagon? Its practically a meme now, that we joke “GoLd TeAm BaD” all the time.
Who’s here for the premiere 😂
I'm convinced there was a backroom deal/blackmail regarding the Tatar trade, cause in no way/shape/form did it make sense. Half the trades Vegas makes/made seems to be panic movies or trading for the sake of trading.
Your allowed to believe whatever you want matter how foolish it is!!!! Blackmail???? Good God. Head scratching trades definitely. They put their selves up against the cap in year 2 without any cheap home grown talent. They should've taken a step back and developed guys instead of chasing that amazing season in year one. Ever star they brought in came with a big cap hit so they need to trade more guys to stay under the cap. It was horrible management not blackmail. Every Stanley cup winning GM will say the most important thing was draft and development. With Vegas the draft and young players were nothing but trade pieces for high price talent. I believe the instant success turned into a curse because they put their selves in a win now mode with no thought on the future and no thought on bringing in young guys to grow and learn the system while they have cheaper manageable contracts. But maybe your right and people have dirt on the Knights management, and blackmail them for the upper hand in trades. Something like a video from a huge gay orgy in a suit at Cesser's Palace. Sounds foolish doesn't it???? Because that's basically what you're saying when you mention blackmail.
Nobody hates Vegas front office more than Vegas fans. We despise what they've done to the culture and the complete lack of loyalty they've shown. Our team deserves the hate
Let's see what Cassidy can do - they'll either fall in line with his "do your job and follow the system," or he'll be gone.
He may not last more than a couple of years.
He's not going to put up with a lot of nonsense. He's a bit arrogant, self-righteous, stubborn- so he might be able to take on that head office.
Boston letting him go was actually not a surprise if anyone was paying attention. I was, I won't get into it but the writing was on the wall since 2019 Stanley Cup finals, that we blew against St Louis
So there is a disconnect between him and the executives - that could work to Vegas' advantage if the fans stand behind the coach.
His style wasn't working for my boys in Boston, but he's a good coach - probably the best pick for Vegas
Do your job, follow the system or get the hell off the ice!
It's a double-edged sword - for but for what's going on in vegas? It's likely the best sword to cut through the bull
No hate here - we're a hockey family community
We never heard the word hate in hockey until recently, hockey fans always competed and had massive respect for each other
Now it's a bunch of social media wannabees sitting on their mama's couch watching Daddy's TV!
Who have never laced up skates!
We call those the wannabe football crowd.
- I wish some of the newer hockey fans would study the history of NHL. We were the most awesome fans, the lowest paid pro athletes, the national media & sports world generally left us alone.. we had a tight connection to Canada we don't have now
And when they started calling us racist? And younger hockey fans were falling for this crap?
That told me a lot - going to the 60s and seventies, hockey was the very first professional sport where you could have three, four, five players on one team speaking five different languages
And modern fans are calling this league racist? So there's a major disconnect. Never heard the word hate in this sport until the internet and the next generation came along!
So maybe Vegas fans need to be educated about how and where NHL came from, and who the fan base really was, that brought this sport to the forefront
Anybody who goes around saying they "hate Vegas" or Vegas fans? They're not a hockey fan
The only fan I won't respect?
Is the fan whose colors run - stand by your players. And your new coach.
You could build a team better than the current golden knights with that list of players they traded away 7:41 😂
I'm surprised the title wasn't "The NHL needs to stop letting the Golden Knights do this"
I mean also a plausible title lmao. What I failed to say in my last video, which is my bad, is that the commissioner in every league has the ability to veto trades if they are completely ludicrous. Maybe Vegas needs this lol
@@RobTalksHockey im just messing with you haha, love the content, keep up the good work!
Funny. The only place this "Title" has its place would be when talking about the Phoenix Coyote. The NHL REALLY needs to stop this."
The golden eye music is also my ringtone. So while this video was playing on my phone it was really messing with my mind...
Somehow, I think McPhee and McCrimmon are pretty happy with their work as of 1 year later (when VGK won the Stanley Cup).
