Welcome to my review of SHFiguarts Kamen Rider Blade [仮面ライダーブレイド] from...Kamen Rider Blade [仮面ライダー剣]!
I have zero recollection of this show. I'm not going to pretend I know much of anything or that I even had an interest in Kamen Rider after Faiz kinda killed all hype I had in the franchise's return. Compound that with yet another card gimmick and a somewhat off-putting design I kinda passed altogether. You know... I think I actually don't mind the suit all that much these days. Maybe not the Caffeine-Free gold version so much, but the standard Blade suit is alright. Maybe now is the time for me to give Blade it's fair evaluation...
SHF Kamen Rider Blade comes with the Blay Rouser, an open deck for the Blay Rouser, eight Rouse Cards, Rider Kick effect and several extra hands.
I bought this Figuart when it was brand new and am finally reviewing it almost five years later. I really isn't that bad. There is tons of detail and the quality of my particular figure is perfect. What more can you really ask for?
It isn't perfect, however. I don't really like the helmet sculpt all that much. Having to decal the Blay Rouser is ANNOYING. I get that they wanted to give the customer options for the inside of the deck, but the outside should have absolutely been applied in the factory. The arms don't have fantastic range, but that seems to be on par with a lot of Figuarts from 2013-2014 for whatever reason.
Ahh...so I included a little bonus in this video, eh? Yeah, I almost forgot that I bought the Broken Head version of the Blade Figuarts. I looooooove the detail on it. How come more Figuarts don't come with broken helmets? I mean...they did Black Condor from Jetman...how come he doesn't have one as well? It's kinda hard to make out through photos, but the face is very well detailed and goes beyond the immediate hole to give the whole thing more dimension. The Blade suit itself is also more of a darker blue...which is a little more accurate. The only thing that isn't included with this Figuart that the original Blade has is the Rider Kick effect piece. Ehhh...
Both Figuarts are really neat, but I actually kinda prefer the Broken Head Version. So I guess the ultimate version would have been if they just included the Broken head in the standard release. Heh. I think I ended up getting the Broken Head version for like $20, so no huge expense...but considering how much stuff Ryuki came with...why not make a big bundle?
