The vertical farm was so controversial that even Noob Yolk was trying to resist it at the end 😅Really like how this whole area turned out 👏
When you put in that vertical farm I thought you had lost your mind. But I have to admit it you pulled it off, well done.
Yes, it provides great lighting to the garden.
When I saw the title, I knew it would be a really quintessential Overcharged Egg episode.
And it didn't disappoint.
Wonderful build and I am happy the original map ruin was integrated so well.
All those trees, bushes, parks, really, really great work of the detailling master that OE is.
😀
And of course we have the lore of the b-i-otanical garden. 😁
we sure do :))
The symbol represents the four major and 4 minor festivals of the pagan calender. The Sun and Earth movement. Oldest religious symbol in human history.
Wouldn't have commented except the correct knowledge of these symbols are being forgotten. Glad you kept it.
Looking forward to the beach stuff, having a really hard time making anything look authentic. (Would love something like LA beach / GTA beach)
Loved how you "take some of the sting" out of moving the Bird & Bee Haven at 6:58.
omg i’m rlly glad u liked the “noob yolk” suggestion 😭
I found one of those abandoned factories on a map i downloaded from the Steam Workshop called Neoki Island. But instead of deleting it, i plan to incorporate it into some sort of industrial area and cargo train terminal and add some ploppable concrete, like if it was an old factory in the industrial area that was closed but not demolished, located near the train tracks for goods to be able to be loaded directly onto the trains. Then the new cargo train terminal was added next to it.
reminds me of Balboa Park in San Diego California! Love the park.
very cool, love that you preserved the vanilla structure :) Also that the vertical farm was on fire at the end lol
Great episode egg. Your skills never cease to amaze me. The vertical farm is perfect as it serves as a landmark for the area.
Wow, such a beautiful build. So creative and the trees and shrubs are spectacular... great build again OE. Thank you so much.
Lovely video extending the vanilla detailing of the map with a botanical garden theme and using walking tours to give the feel of an actual ruin is a good idea. I agree the vertical garden is a bold choice. I love that asset but it does look a bit too tall. I think it is happening not only because it is taller than other assets but also on higher ground than others, makes it look even taller. It looks good and blends in well when you have the downtown skyline behind it though.
Great video!
I've only been playing the game for a month or so (I know where have I been all these years😂) , and am working my way through this tutorial series building along with each episode. Have to say what a great watch I've learnt so much. Thanks OE. Also started using your link to instant gaming for the dlc.
Another great episode! What a great mix of different assets to bring into an extended botanical garden park, love it, and that fence and bush detailing was just 👌😇
Thank you so much FewC! Glad you enjoyed it! That fence & bush spice was classic 🍳!
an ARBORETUM may be the word you where looking for for that area.
adding the vertical farms was a bold move but turns out it fits really well! there is a timeline of farming/using the environment now: ancient to utopian. maybe you could light up the ruins so they can be visible at nighttime?
Thank you, yes that could be it!
Lights sound like a good idea :)
Awesome build dude! Love the path way over the runes. I could see a big tour group going through there talking about the history of the site.
so glad you called it Garden of Nurgle
Your healthcare system after seeing you made the statue of nurgle into a park: "I'm never going to financially recover from this."
You really have great ideas and I love the detailing. Great park!
Excellent video, Egg!!! Enjoyed watching it!!
Ahhh what a nice video.
I will admit I like the placement of the vertical farm, looks good specially after the detailing with the use of bush/trees as fencing.
Using the footpath as a sort of sightseeing pathway over the old ruins is a nice little touch.
One thing I would have done was at 32:28 should have let the tour go in to your japanese garden/bird and bee complex as well
Edit:
Ups totally forgot, can't wait to see what you do with the beach, kind of looking forward to a small bunch of beachvolley fields across from the riding school
I do look forward to your videos when you post them, although must admit, I dont watch the long 2-3 hr vods of your streams when you put them up, I might have one of them running or a video of one of my other fav creators when I sit and fiddle in Cities
And of course that last still of the vertical garden, is just a nice touch, really shows how on fire you were in this video
I have been glued to your work for days now.....love your chilled attitude towards building , no rush style....I play console and take major inspiration from you, have a great day sir
Thanks for watching buddy! ❤️
Great detailing and integration of the ruins. I was worried about the lack of respect for existing rock formations, moving them and putting them back on site would of been city planning priority. Imaginative use of trees and other assets ultimately the difference.
As a person who cannot play the game these larger builds are amazing -- thank you
p.s. I also just realised you didnt move the freeway on ramps -- very remincent of large city parks in many urbanised citiies around the world.
Man you are such a super human being with a massive depth of character💪🏻
Another masterpiece Egg. Really love this season.
Another great episode. It was very interesting to see how you interpreted that space with the ruins in comparison to others I’ve seen. Would like to see how you’d integrate the Central Park asset into this city. It is New York (kind of) after all! I’m planning to use it myself and could do with a bit of inspiration.
Very nice build - loved the 1 by 2’s green cities high res build! That was spicy 🌶
Love your style! We think quite alike! Really appreciate your vids!
Vertical garden is actually a place of sacrifice for the gods . That's why it lit up .
Really liked the elevated path over the ruins. I was always afraid the elevated path would delete them, so it's good to learn they'll stay. Will definitely integrate it into a build I have going now where I have a ton of space and nothing to put there!
It will delete them at some points! A two step elevation won't always clear it, thank you!
There was a ruined fort in the map that I was using. I built a nature reserve around it, and I carefully threaded some paths into the fort itself, with some information signs scattered around. Instant historic preservation site, and the peeps seem to love it.
Egg I started my own city now because you didnt upload much of begginnner guide so I had to do it, btw this starting layout works really Good and I really recommend It 👍
I don't know why you think the vertical garden is controversial, that thing is fire. Gorgeous detailing as always Egg, and I love how you show us how to incorporate mixed assets. So many great ideas to take inspiration from.
What a couple of weeks we've just had. Egg and FewC both tackling festival areas and ruins. I think Egg and Candy might actually be from alternate universes, each one the best CS youtuber in their own universe. And the collab episodes were kind of like crossover episodes we have in superhero shows, where we might end up with Flash and Supergirl in the same universe or something.
Your videos inspire me to decorate! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
I think you would call it an arboretum - kind of a botanical garden but for trees
Yet another mighty miss-match of magical madness! Amazing Build! PS. I vote YES on big building & monkey day!
Really enjoy your vanilla builds, great inspiration for us console peasants!
It's a pity some of the vanilla assets weren't available as placable it in the vanilla game (ie console!), always liked the castle assets and would have really liked to have been able to include them in my builds.
Beautiful park, I really love how you incorporated everything into one cohesive park. I like the vertical farm there, it does give a nice pop of height to the park, even though I don't think I've seen you use that asset yet in anything! And you very carefully called it the botanical garden throughout the episode, and here I was hoping for a biotanical garden!
I'm pretty sure he used it in Noveria 👍
@@MrSunshine251 I haven't watched Noveria yet, something on my list to do! 👍
@@jcosunshine you must! Definitely my favourite Egg city!
@@MrSunshine251 I've seen bits and pieces but never the whole thing. Working my way through Palaven now. I only found Egg when he joined 5B1C second season, so lots to catch up on!
@@jcosunshine it was featured in Noveria as part of a city-farm build to cope with the cold weather
This video shows a prime example of somewhat good yet still bad city planning, as there is a HIGHWAY running through the middle of the city.
One of the most annoying things about playing this game on console (even with a keyboard and mouse) is the road feature. It's so nice on PC when you select any road / path that you see all of the different road curves and the snap to's at the bottom left of the screen. On console, you have to hover over a little square looking thing, then click what you want. To get to snap to's you have to click another button and then you have the option to toggle them. Hopefully they fix that feature in cities 2 !
Just a complaint but the build is sick and I can't wait to try this out later! Also, not sure if it's possible in this game, but maybe you could work in a hedge maze or something like that.
(On console) with mouse and keyboard hold the home key while using the road tool to bring up snap options.
that looks really good!
Glad you think so!
Love that we start with the vertical farm on fire and end with it on fire... not like there is a big star dedicated to the chaos gods nearby or anything...... :P
Aah!! palm Beach Garden
The elevated walkways…I'm just trying to imagine them in Stonehenge, just not computing!!
Try harder!
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG But how are they going to see the summer solstice sunrise through the standing stones?
I never delete the ruins or abandoned assets. I would incorporate them into something. I once made an abandoned town, preserved. Or a park. Use move it, rotate it, get creative.
amazing video, thx
It looks like someone doesn't like the vertical farm so they tried to lit it on 🔥. I like how you use that on your credits 😂
Also, where did you get your inspiration from? Your creativity is so amazing!
Thank you! If I'm in a themed city like Ilos then Google Earth mainly. With vanilla, just go with the flow, the terrain, what I want in that area etc. :)
That awkward moment when you get basically a custom and personalized OE detailing vid made to your exact description 😳
That vertical garden looks hot...
i use the green cities 1x2's all the time, cant imagine trying to do that without plop the growables!
Chaos star hell yeah 🤘
"The Bob Ross of Cities Skylines"
So much for saying that you would actually use 'suck up the brown'
Interesting 🤔
this is maybe a stupid question, but how does your 'camera' go so close to the ground? Mine does not go that close, i am on pc
Papa Nurgle
Praise the plague father 🪰
👍👍👍👍
so OE, which god did you worship, i was a Khornate Lord in WHFB myself, the look of horror on my opponent's face when he/she realised that my entire army was about to smash into their ranks all at the same time, from the Marauders to the Juggernoughts of Khorne (which was the Generals Unit)
Im waiting for airport guide

Mabye it's time?
Oh no! You spelt biotanical wrong in the title! 😜 😆
#Eggisms
Never forget..actually, please do!
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG 🫂
Seriously? You edited the title from including "botanical garden" altogether?? 🙄🤣
