- Welcome to our BRAND NEW VANILLA series! As well as serving as an update to the year's template, this series will also serve as the ultimate guide to playing and building in my style as we hopefully head towards the end of the life cycle of Cities 1...This series will continue as episodes. Today we are rounding out the downtown beach project by introducing an Airports DLC build. Playing with the idea of runway piers (again), one way systems, viewing parks and some airfield designs, we can construct a nice airport to accompany our downtown district! Enjoy.

I watched this whole series in just 2 days. I don't even play Cities, but I cannot express how incredibly comfy this series has been so far. I love watching the small settlement turn into a large city episode by episode and the format of your videos are amazing with the detailing bit and the cinematics that serve as the intro and the outro, love it man.

When i was on vacation in Thailand, i lived in a house that we had rented. It was in a gated community that had a pool and best of all, it was only about 50 metres from our house!
Dang Ur a genius with this stuff! I never even thought of implementing park life viewing decks. That’s so awesome!
I wasn't expecting to like the airport on sand texture but it looks surprisingly charming. I love that little peninsula runway. Airport really looks beautiful in front of the downtown skyline and the beach build. Love it!

Just a suggestion , those pathways shouldnt be around runway , as they might confuse pilots during landing . But yeah they are actually near terminal for service vehicles like - fuel truck ,etc.
Service vehicles and emergency vehicles use taxiway itself near runway

I know you didn't want to use the Airport bus _station_ ... but you could still have bus _stops_ using those bus lanes on ther terminals :D

Lovely beachy airport! I never thought to include the paths around the runway area to give some light to the build, great idea! I love how it all turned out and it complements the skyline and the beachfront area really well. Excellent video as always! ❤
46:23 that is actually what some of the museums looks like, I have seen one like that in a transformers movie. Half inside the building.

Well... there's a silver lining in that I still have a lot of beach building/detailing to do from last episode. I'll be sure to terraform the airport first. That was a massive wave! Great build. This will be my first go at the new airport DLC. The beach airport with lots of tropical vibes worked out really well. Compliments the whole map, really.

@@OVERCHARGEDEGG yeah. the reason why i watch them, i saw all your City Skylines vids and now the noobsguide. In City Skylines i played already 600h but I started my first vanilla series (due to crashes with too many assets :D) and this is a good inspiration

I'm sure there is equally documentation for lighting of service roads (fire/maintenance only roads)

I dont think an airport would have lit pathways between and around the runways. Would cause confusion at night.
Why don't you show how to create vanilla assets in the asset editor? Then you won't need to waste any time on wack-a-mole car parks
