    My 14mm bolt is STUCK or something, its not budging at all, any idea?

    • @YOUCanFixAnythingAuto
      @YOUCanFixAnythingAuto  Před 5 měsíci

      I suggest using a high quality penetrating oil and spray the bolt. If it is one where the threads protrude out the back, I would spray that area too. Then let it soak anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours. It that doesn’t help, try using a longer ratchet the get more leverage on the bolt.
      Good luck! Let me know how it goes.

      @YOUCanFixAnythingAuto I fixed it and got a new one in but that's not the problem anymore, when it gets tested it keeps saying volt reg failed, but when they test it on a bench it's fine

      @VeganToes - Interesting. Have you put a volt meter on the battery to see if the new alternator is charging and how many volts? It should be 13.5-14.5 volts, depending on the battery’s state of charge. It could be a connector issue or a different electrical issue in that circuit. Let me know what you discover.

    I'm a girl with a 4runner having some alternator issues. If I do it myself will I F anything up really bad?
    I did this on my old Subaru with the help.of another gf.
    I really can't afford to fix it

      As far as difficulty level, I would peg this as fairly easy. It requires limited tools, low expertise and it’s easy to access. Just follow the steps in the video and you should be good to go! Just make sure that when you put the serpentine belt back on, that it is seated in the grooves of all the pulleys. Let me know how it goes! 👩🏻‍🔧 💪🏼

      @@YOUCanFixAnythingAuto thank you so much! I don’t have a torque wrench so I guess I’m afraid of tightening too much or too little, but I’ll update you.

      Not to sound sexist but you are a female. I would just go good and tight. As long as your not standing on the wrench I think you will be ok.

      In my case, I was in Africa, which was thousands of miles away from my torque wrench. Fortunately, over the decades I've developed a feel for tightening bolts. Of course, I wouldn't do that when building an engine!
