- As the Boston Bruins rolled into Edmonton to face the Oilers, we had ourselves a matchup of two of the most exciting teams in the NHL. It had everything you want in a hockey game from big saves, some bad blood, 11 goals with a late 3 goal comeback and a thrilling finish in overtime! But to top it off, with Jake DeBrusk playing in his hometown, his Dad Louie was between the benches, which was cool enough. But after Louie cashed in on an old coupon during their interview, we got a father son moment and game that these two will never forget! So with big saves from both Skinner and Swaymen, a fight between Corey Perry and Wotherspoon, the Gryzlak injury and all the goals you could hope for, I cover it all in todays NHL hockey video!

Thats why Oilers fans love Jack and Louie. It's obviously not for fan bases outside of Edmonton, but they make the Oilers feed exciting to watch and it really feels like they love what they do.
Louie, yes…Jack, not so much. I used to enjoy Jack until seeing him in person at a hockey tournament our kids were in, been sour on him ever since and I doubt I’m the only one who has experienced this.
Jake DeBrusk's dad hanging onto that ticket and waiting for the perfect opportunity to cash it in for so many years is amazing! Not only that, Jake Debrusk actually getting a goal in that game with his dad announcing is amazing. Even though his dad was (jokingly) disappointed he won't make Jake do the thirty pushups, it must have been a special moment for him. They were able to have some fun and laugh about it and I'm sure they'll remember this for a long time.
Small detail - Love the support and shoulder grab by Monty on the bench after Debrusk scores. Best coach in the league.
Crazy we didn't give up another OTL, Chuck really carrying the team after 30 minutes of ice time, GO B's!
Ha well we followed it up with another OTL the next day. They're 28-12 in regulation but 8-12 in OT. I guess it's a good thing there's no 3v3 in the playoffs...
honestly, one of the coolest things I can remember seeing between father and son at a game. This will be in hockey lore eternal and an insane game also? I frigging love hockey bruh

as an oilers fan, this game was insaneeeeee to watch in the arena - loudest ive heard the crowd , it was similar to how lively it was during the toronto game 😭😭😭 wild night and it was a good game no matter who won honestly
I've always loved JDB as a bruins fan despite the criticism he gets often, and this moment was incredible. Love u love ur vids ty for memorializing this so well
Yeah he really gets too much criticism honestly. He's been playing well lately. People need to worry less about stats and just watch how he's playing.

What a game! It was a plain ol regular season match up. This is a perfect example of why Hockey is the greatest team sport on earth - period.
I had to go to bed before the 3rd because it was after midnight here in New England, but I appreciate this great recap. I'm also so happy to see my Providence boys being so successful (even poor Spoons after being picked on by Perry).

That's twice this year that Wotherspoon has been forced to fight a guy who jumped him. Pat Maroon earlier in the season, and he also did not let Wotherspoon drop his gloves before throwing punches. What did this guy do to goons that they keep jumping him?!
not sure but despite the trouble because he got jumped and couldnt get his gloves off he came back and won the second half of it
That was a crazy game my team lost but it was a roller coaster of a game.

The Bruins took it in Edmonton. They haven’t beat Calgary yet so it’s a little too early to say they took it in Alberta.
I turned on the game during the interview with Louis and Jake Debrusk. But I didn't know the context of them being father/son. So we were watching that interview with the coupon and him saying "I love you kiddo". And my wife and I were like "wtf was that?" It was the weirdest sideline interview ever. Now with the context of it being father and son, it changes everything and its a sweet moment. But for anyone else turning it on without knowing that, it was the weirdest interview ever.

Exciting game and a good show of resilience by the oilers but the defense was shite
It was insane and the OT goal by the Bruins they deserved. Never seen such clumsiness by the Oilers at the end.
Wdym they deserved? Oilers expected goals more than 1 goal higher than the bruins, if Skinner doesn’t give up a couple stinkers the oilers win this game
I would like to clarify, not the oilers, specifically an oiler named Evander Kane.
clumsiness is what the Bruins did in the 3rd losing a 4 - 1 lead. Im a Bruins fan and they got lucky to get away with 2 points.
same with sway he's usually bailing us out and he did with those ot stops but some of those goals were pretty weak like the one that just squirted through@@tequila6306

Perry should have been kicked out, he completely instigated the fight against Wotherspoon. Just some more antics from Perry that the league is blind to.
Oilers are still chasing picks they have regressed to what they were almost doing at the start of the season. Like they forgot how to force the players off pucks for turnovers like in January when they were aggressive.
