- NHL Playoff hockey is in the air! As the pace ramps up, so does the entertainment and this week, we plenty of moments from around the hockey world worth watching again. From Fleury and Duhaime's prank war, a hilarious goal then no goal call on Gallagher in their game against the Panthers, a last minute NHL debut, Malkin's parents emotional watching their son, Eklund with a hat trick that also got Cooley his first NHL victory with his mom in attendance. We also go some great fan interactions, a funny kid in the Boston Florida game, Fedotov going to the wrong net, Shesterkin and Crosby going at it and a crazy sequence in the Kings Jets game where the Kings lined up for a face-off unlike any I've seen. I cover all that and much much more in todays NHL hockey video!

The NHL heads should watch this. it's the players skill and their personalities that the game so great. Yet the try to white wash them out and bombard the game with adds to make it a head ache to watch.
Hey, those ads bring revenue to the league which allows the salary cap to go up so we fans can hopefully keep those skilled players on our teams. Not every league has the benefit of the NFL and their billion dollar TV deals, the NHL has to scrape up money wherever it can. Skill and personality costs a lot of money.
Some people say that the focus on skill and personalities isn't what people want, they want to return to when a game took 5 hours to finish due to multiple fight interruptions and return to the time before we understood what brain injuries can do to people. So at least give the NHL credit for knowing that it shouldn't return to those days. Also, the NHL channel itself does Weird NHL and for what it's worth, that truly demonstrates some of the fun and silly and ridiculous moments of each week or month in the league and so the NHL doesn't completely ignore the fun side.

I don't think any of us are prepared for what playoffs have in store for us this season. We're in for a real treat & just when we thought the post season couldn't get any more wildly unexpected after last season!

Yep, so many good teams aren't playing too well right now. Regular season always goes out the door once playoffs start. However, I don't see any huge surprise coming like one or both of the teams who are in the finals .

Keep it in perspective. Do humans need entertainment? Probably. But looking at the darkness spreading across the globe, with authoritarian leaders making gains in power, and threats to liberty not seen since WWII, we have far more important priorities.

With all the things NHL players drop the mitts for, I'm a little surprised to see there was no reaction to a player intentionally hitting the goalie's face to deflect the puck into the net. From behind the net there's no way it goes in unless it hits the guy's cheek.

Funny how all you young fans don’t remember that this was not uncommon 20 years ago.
