Good thing I watched, I had parameter control almost off and was wondering why my effects were so strange…I’m watching all these vids! So far love my new Yamaha!
Realize I'm late to the show but hey,.. I'm old, lol.🤣
Been over 30 years since I've done anything in this realm but your videos helped me pull the trigger on a Yamaha MG12XU!!
Thanks for explaining everything in detail. Nice to know that the only real significant changes in mixing/studio are the options, features available at a lower cost and the implicating computers and interfaces into the workflow. Makes everything so much faster and easier to teach my daughter!
Great video! I appreciate you going so in depth with the functionality.
Very helpful video! Thanks for sharing this information. I love Yamaha mixer. I’ve tried two different brands, but always come back to Yamaha.
Thank you so much for the video!! I gotta say, your videos helped me a lot in deciding to purchase this mixer. After 3 months of heavy use, I’m super happy with it. The FX engine is awesome, Yamaha has it super dialed
Glad to hear this.
I am really glad you are doing this, you helped me a lot .. thanks dude from the bottom of my heart, keep it up bro
Happy to help
100% 👍. Super Thank You!
Thank you so much!!
Love this console. Great pres and the USB output quality is superb, super clean.
Thanks. Very useful for someone who knew nothing much about effects. I’m glad I bought the MG10XU, though for a different purpose.
Good idea to showcase the different effects! 24 is my favourite!
Good choice!
Thank you. These videos are super helpful. Nice, clear explanations. Much appreciate.
We live on channel 13 in my band with Mic Mechanic 2 pedals on each mic ahead of the board in signal chain. We have access to so many effects but this little board on channell 13 gives us our killer vocal sound. Love it.....
this is the video ive been looking for. Ty
Insane performance over there 😂😍
This is a huge help in finding what I want. Thanks bro.
You're awesome for doing this, thank you so much!
Nice effects demo very helpful
Superb demonstration.❤️🔥😘
Just ordered mine thank you for the video! Cant wait to mess with this one!!!
Good choice!
Nice, as soon as I have used the AG06 well I will end up switching to this one or to a future equivalent version probably
Thank you, very helpful video
I really love this video. Thank u for making video of all effects of yamaha mixer I own this mixer the sound quality output is awesome .
Glad to hear that
@@kettnercreative Is it possible to set different FX on each channel or the same fx will be added to the all channels ? I mean let’s say Reverb for channel one for singer1 and delay for channel 2 for singer 2 and so on for instruments.
Another excellent video.
Thanks again!
that was awesome
You went through the trouble of testing all the effects. My man.
Was very helpful, thank you!! :)
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful tutorials. Thank you so much. God bless you.
Glad it was helpful!
Hey great video. I would love to hear some long sustained notes on some of the effects - I think it would make more sense, like in say flanger-. I know you did hold on to some notes on some cases, just not on every effect. Anyway, many thanks for the video AND the channel. I have not come across any video of the yamaha or mackie consoles that come with faders.
I realise that faders are susceptible to damage - is this why you do not buy/use these mixers in your business, or is it simply an issue of the elevated price range? From what I understand you rent out audio gear, so I assume the main concern would be to have gear that performs well overtime.
Anyway, would be interested to see reviews of gear that has faders on, rather than just knobs.
The FX RTN gives quite a lot of flexibility to fx too as well as the parameter control.
Another excellent review..👍. now eagerly waiting for Mackie profx V3..
Everyone give Big Big...👍👍👍..
Soon! Not sure when, but I'm hoping by the end of the week.
Good you go into detail about the usb connect and different ways of using it?
Listening to all these 24 Effects is so fun I'm planning to get this for My Shure sm7b
Aha, perfect
Tough time choosing between the Mackie ProFX10v3 and the MG10UX, but the effects parameter knob was the thing that pushed me toward the Yamaha. Also, I REALLY like the compressor circuit. Sounds and feels like a real compressor, as opposed to just being a limiting tool. Only thing I'm left wanting is Mute buttons. MG12UX is a likely future purchase!
Check Mg10xuf bro !
I agree 100%
Great. Thank you
nice video mate, just quick question, where did you connect your mg10 audio out, is that direct to speaker or you connect to usb going to laptop, hope i fet the answer mate, thank you.
Nice Video, are you able to combine sound effects example, effect 24 with a delay
Hello again!
Really following your videos!!
I would have 2 questions..if I may:
1- can you apply one effect on channel 1 (for ex.)
And a different effect on channel 2,
Both at the same time ..
2-is ther an equivalent mixer, with better effects?
And one with more ?
Thank you!
I made sure I hit like before watching
ahah, thank you.
Hello, Kettner, a question here.
Yamaha MG10XU is better than Scarlett Solo 3rd gen in terms of sound?
I found the scarlett to be way too rudimentary, I mainly want to use a mixer or interface for voice acting and light singing, so my only concern regarding Yamaha MG10XU is if the sound is at least equal or better than scarlett solo 3rd gen.
Also, do you think Yamaha MG10XU is at the same level / better/ worse than Soundcraft Notepad-8FX?
Great video
Thanks!
Hi Jordan , I’m just purchased this mixer to use for my acoustic setup .. so far I love it but I use the headphone jack for an inner ear monitor while I’m playing .. I use some reverb to sing with but is there anyway to not get the reverb through my IEM ? It sounds fine through the speaker but in my ear it’s just too much and muddies the vocal too much and it’s hard to hear if I’m on pitch .. not sure if I explained that right . This is a great channel, thank you for the help !
Hi thank you for this video. I am planning to buy this mixer. Two questions please.... when you have for example effect 3 activated and you switch off the device, when you turn it back on does it remain on the last effect you used or starts from effect 1? Does the monitor/phones pot affect the Stereo Out when turned? Thank you!!!
Can you have two or three different instruments or mics with different effect for each one?
i'm currently having an issue where when i turn the effects on, it also makes my desktop audio have the effect too? need help to fix this :c
Pretty cool
Where would you plug the DAC from tv to the this mixer ? Because the sound came out weird and not clear! thank you
Thanks man .
You bet
Hi there, do you think any of the effects is a combination of reverb and chrorus , like symphonic ? Regards
gréât demo
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Which effect is most used for singing live on social media?
Thx for sharing
My pleasure
Can i set reverb and delay simultaneously at a time?
Quick question when I record with the low voice then play it back I hear my normal voice in it still… how do I eliminate that? I turned off all other Michel phones and it still picks up and plays back my normal voice…
how do you designate which input you want the effects to change? example: if in want effects on my guitar and not my mic?
Does an effect applies to all channel simultaneously or is it individually?..i wouldnt want to hear both my guitars and my vocals having distortion..hehe .seriously mate how does it work?👍👍👍
I didn’t quite understand one thing… if I have a bunch of synths connected to the mixer and use the built in fx, and want to add an exterior effect pedal to the ‘send’ does it cancel out the built in effects or can I now use both at the same time?
Hi, Vocal Echo or Stage efects are made by Yamaha using a combo from reverb with delay ? I ask you because other brands use multi-fx like delay+reverb wich is most used by singers
Hi, great vid!! Could you tell me please, can a tc helicon mic mechanic 2 be used as an external effects with this unit in the effects send? If so what wires would i need? Many thanks Sean
Hi, did you work your query out. I've got a TC Duplicator and wondered the same.
I am considering buying this Yamaha mixer for my live jamming . Equipments include 2 mics , 2 ACCOUSTIC amps ( AER and Fishman). I want to have the 2 mics (in) through the mixer and out to two acoustics amp such that the guitar and blend in with the voice coming out from the 2 amps .
Note : the 2 ACCOUSTIC amps are standalone features good enough for the usual one mic one guitar ( voice/ Singing) come in /out from the same amp ……a friend advised no need to go through the mixer this way. I am confused . Can you give me some advise
Thank you ver much Kettner
As a 1202FX former user, I was hoping the Reverb effects would sound more natural and smoother, I didn't really like those that much, unfortunately. This was the deal or break for me, I guess I'll have to look into another mixer option.
Yamaha SPX reverbs are like that, have that grainy quality, some like it others no. I find them quite useful.
Which effect and parameter setting would u recommend for singers?
Can you use two or more effects at once?
I just got the MG12XU, but need a step-by-step for engaging the in-board effects. the manual confuses me! The manual says FX goes through AUX1, another CZcams video says FX goes through AUX2.
Dumb question, maybe... But if you don't turn on the FX engine will the signal come through as normal? If I turn up the FX knob on the mic channel will it act as a separate signal for example?
7:12 Okay that was perfect xDD Had to laugh at this, could have been me... this was so perfect xD
bravo 👏
I can’t get the sound to change with the effects. Any recommendations? Nothing changes. Audio stays the same from the mic
How we can add different effects to each channel?
can you select more than 1 effect for each channel? can you select different effects for each channel or the effects apply to all the chanells equally?
You can't select more than one effect, but you can control how much of that one effect goes into each channel.
many thanks for this great video. Can you tell me if i can have one effect for the mic and a different effect for the guitar at the same time. Many thanks.
You can't on a mixer of this size. Generally you would need to bump up to something like a QU 16, TF16, or X32 for more than one FX from the mixer.
nice run through,bro- I feel the mackiefx10 has a better effects engine, more crisp-agree>?
What's good setting for vocals.
Please help: does anyone know if you can assign different effects for each channel, i.e., reverb on channel 1 but delay on channel 2?
Not on any of the Yamaha analog stuff. You’d need a digital mixer for this
Does the master stereo signal become 100% digital once you activate the fx processor? Or is it blended with an analog signal from the input section?
i had my controler plugged in CHNL 3 and CHNL 4 and the signal was peaking distorted will it be ok to plug my DJ Controller in the 5/6 CHNL Unbalanced channel ?
Thank you very helpful. But I am debating weather to buy this mixer or the mackie profx10v3. I’m mainly buying them for the effects. Can you make the same video but for the mackie profx10v3? Just going over the effects the same way you did here. That would be very helpful. Thank you.
It's on our radar for sure. Hoping to have the video done this week. Stay tuned.
@@kettnercreative ok thanks a lot looking forward to watching it
Is the fx send of the mg10xu stereo?
Great video series btw. Thanks alot!
Mono.
Which is the best effect for singers?
The best effect is the one that you like the most! Everyone has a different opinion.
What if you want like a reverb effect on only one channel? or two different effects on two different channels? Is that possible
yes would like to know
Hi Jordan, your videos are super helpful and helping me a lot to decide what mixer I should get. I am a singer and want to record songs from home. I am leaning towards the Mackie ProFx6v3. I do not want to invest in a pedal just for the harmony which is really useful. Is there any mixer that has the basic harmony effect?
Not that I know of. Especially with an analog mixer.
analog chorus is something that might cost as much as the mixer itself. i just spent 150 for an analogue ebs chorus unit and i was very happy with that price. pedals are very cheap these days tho, so if you were really hell bent on a harmonizer (obviously you can harmonize w urself using the mixer anyways, but its definately 2 different things) you could probably find a quit reasonable pedal that funcitons well for between 50 and little over 100 bucks
Sir i don't want to make this live video from yamaha mg10xu mixer. I want to record audio and video simultaneously in camera. Will it be possible or not reply me and how will the sound be. Will you like it or not, please give some reply!
Nice run through, can you set different effects on different channels?
Yeah, that's what I want to know too.
Just read further down and - no, you can't.
I wish Yamaha would have built in the ability to use multiple effects on one channel as well as to use different effects on each channel.
it has!
But in their mgp series (they cost double the mg mixers)
which is best for a small church room?
how to make each channel have separately, cause my music from laptop getting effect too
I'm guessing you're only have to have one effect being used at a time, right? So you can't, for example, have the Reverb to the voice channel and the Phaser to the guitar channel, right?
That's right.
I'm a beginner and just got this console. ¿ What would be the best effect for kareoke # 13 or 14 ? I would appreciate your input.
Hi there. Is there any way you can have two effects running at the same time?
Not on a small mixer like this. Typically you’d need a digital mixer to accomplish this.
I'm a singer doing live shows. Are these reverbs good for that? If not is there an external reverb anyone could recommend ?
How good is it as an audio interface, does it have better preamps than Mackie profx v3 series.
the have a detailed comparisson of yamaha vs mackie
i think im going to get this one ? one question does it come with USB cord that i have to plug to computer ? but i will probably watch a unboxing video to see for myself.
It doesn't come with the USB cable. You'll need to supply your own.
What effects setting would you recommend for the average karaoke singer?
Karaoke effect
What do you think is the best sound effect for vocals, particularly folk type music? I have been using setting 6.
3 or 6 probably. Would need to play with it a bit.
@@kettnercreative Ive used the Yamaha for many years. As a solo musician playing all kinds on genres. I use the Karaoke. Not sure if it's the best choice tho
I just got one of these cuz I love my Yamaha mixer, EMX212s. But the same mic with the same cable has considerably lower audio quality. Sounds good on the Old one but this new one it sounds pretty crappy. Is it because it's a digital USB signal? Is that possible? The old one is analog and the new one is digital. I'm just wondering if my unit is defective. Also i have a condenser mic that doesn't even work on the New yamaha , with the phantom power on of course. You seem to be the master of this mixer so i thought I'd ask. Thanx again, love your channel
Hard to say without looking at it myself. I would call Yamaha if I was you.
@@kettnercreative thanx for that, love your channel. Will do and thanx
Can you use 2 effects together eg. reverb and delay ?
Unfortunately only one at a time on this small mixer
that was great but it seems that there are more than necessary types of reverb. Most vocalists or youtubers will only use about 4
Better to have more than less
Which effect is the best for singing?
I Used mine #3
can we apply different effects to different channels ?
Only one effect at a time can be in use.
If we are playing a song or instrumental through the Yamaha Mixing Console will we be able to use Effects with it?
Yeah, you can do that.
Was thinking about using this for acoustic guitar live performance. Can those effects be used for vocals or for guitar.
Yes they can.
