@NickPipesComedy It's not Tesla's responsibility to cater its products around preventing robbery, and mugging. Law enforcement and persons are foremost responsible in preventing those things. Tesla's job is to ensure their cars actually drive, and that their charging port service work. Tesla could require its users to have implanted microchips in their hands that will only work for their specific Tesla. So carjacking won't be as easy a thing to do. Still might get robbed, but not carjacked. Unless the perpetrators chop off your hands or something. But how many people are willing to cut off hands to commit carjacking? “Create a problem and solve it in imagination” - electric car guys. They can just give a prompt about charger is still plugged in. Why they are stopping people to do something you can do in a normal car? This is the reason why people don’t trust electric cars easily.
That's a dumb argument. A good thief studies its victims or range of victims and will soon or later discovered such tricks, plus it's the most popular EV brand in the US. Some thieves probably already use Teslas as their daily vehicles. It's better to make everyone aware so that others can avoid charging at night or be prepared to defend themselves knowing the vulnerability is there.
The lock on your car was an amazing feature added to every vehicle since its creation Also, if someone is that desperate to car jack or mug someone, its best to just report the stolen property after letting them take it Tesla will also more than likely give you another vehicle if your car doesn't get found within a certain amount of time, or it's found scrapped as long as you have the correct car insurance... which most covers crime based incidences
They just need to add an emergency eject option that ejects the charger with a spring. Wouldn't be too hard to create a replacement charging port for the car with the mechanism.
Yeah, then everyone would be using that button to disconnect charger. 🤣 Sooooo, they would also have to force a call to 911 for the driver to explain why they just did that.
@@KeroseneKerosine except the amount of energy loss and im sure there would be alot of other complications with a wireless charger of such size. Rather they should add a feature to automatically eject the charger from the port
It's good to have that feature because it prevents you from driving away with it by accident and damaging your car. But they should have an emergency release option from inside the vehicle.
In my mind, I could see a coal loving, diesel truck, driving hillbilly buying a Tesla specifically to go out and rip a charger out of the station “by accident”
This is just one more reason that concealed carry is necessary everywhere. You’ll feel safer being your own first responder rather than waiting for one 😊
As a Tesla owner, with gas cars technically if you want you can leave the car running and quickly shift to drive then drive off with the pump. The pumps are easily detachable because they are stupid proof
@Momo-nk6ld fair point, but there's alot of videos out there of people getting attacked at pumps, it's like one of the most common spots to get attacked But it is overall safer than the tesla scenario

Wouldn't it be easier if they could just jettison the connector port on the car? , maybe like a module that could detach by hitting a button.( Would be fairly cheaper than dragging the charge cable along causing more damage, possibly?)
@@JesMy12345I thought of that too! But wouldn't people just go around disconnecting the Tesla charger wire from the charging station and stealing it. They would have to find a way to have it lock to the station and only unlock the cable from the station whenever you select the emergency override cable disconnect. And not only that, you would have to train dumb Tesla owners to know not only how to use it but it actually exists as a feature. There was a news story about an old man who got trapped in his electric car on a hot day for I believe 6ish hours because the battery died and the electric power unlock didn't work. The stupid man then took the concern to the manufacturer who then proceeded to show him that the electric car had a separate emergency manual safety door unlock handle on the doors(it has 2 door handles) and the handle was labeled too as an emergency escape release. Lots more people are dumb and buy cars without knowing anything about them let alone read the manual. There's a reason most tesla charging stations are in public places, usually there's stores or restaurants you can go to while your car charges (takes like 30-40 mins to max out). And also we don't want people to drive off with a charging station dragging along the road cuz we all know some people would.
We ??bro you don not work at Tesla, Alon Nusk
I think an interesting fix that might help is the cable is from your car to the station. If it detects to much tension it activates a release and you get to drive away and now you gotta pay for a new cable if it got damaged during the panic

Sound like you’re a criminal, You got experience?😂😅🤣
@@fernandozenomiranda9470You have todo many expectations
The lock on your car was an amazing feature added to every vehicle since its creation
Also, if someone is that desperate to car jack or mug someone, its best to just report the stolen property after letting them take it
Tesla will also more than likely give you another vehicle if your car doesn't get found within a certain amount of time, or it's found scrapped as long as you have the correct car insurance... which most covers crime based incidences
As a professional carjacker that information was useful, thanks for collaboration
They just need to add an emergency eject option that ejects the charger with a spring. Wouldn't be too hard to create a replacement charging port for the car with the mechanism.
Yeah, then everyone would be using that button to disconnect charger. 🤣
Sooooo, they would also have to force a call to 911 for the driver to explain why they just did that.

It's good to have that feature because it prevents you from driving away with it by accident and damaging your car. But they should have an emergency release option from inside the vehicle.
That's a good idea for situations like this

To be fair, in a traditional ICE vehicles, if youre at the pump you're also quite vulnerable
As a Tesla owner, with gas cars technically if you want you can leave the car running and quickly shift to drive then drive off with the pump. The pumps are easily detachable because they are stupid proof
Yeah but you only need a minute to fill the gas tank, but 30 minutes to charge the tesla car, the longer you stay there the higher the chances are.
@Momo-nk6ld fair point, but there's alot of videos out there of people getting attacked at pumps, it's like one of the most common spots to get attacked

@@oliviermongeon4103Umm no, you won’t see a guy coming. Actually they are more likely to get away with it in a normal gas station than Tesla because the Tesla cars themselves have pre recording. @@BlLLYso is the car letting you damage their infrastructure
You can't always trust that idiots who buy a car without knowing anything about it and don't even read the manual are gonna know to use these added safety features
They should have a "jettison charger" feature for if you have to get out fast.
