Join Tiny r(E)volution in Burgaw, NC for a tour of the Periwinkle tiny house. The Periwinkle will be available to tour at the 2017 TinyHouseNC Street Festival in April 2017.
Oh, my! I don't think there is a more delightful tiny house that I've seen. Super duper refreshing to have a pretty colour on the walls, instead of knotted wood! And that sofa. My jaw actually dropped at the cute and light retro-style fabric. So many darling features and finishes. This is what I'd _love_ to see more tiny houses with -- a woman's touch! Thank you so much for the tour!
How sweet you are! Thank you so much for all of your compliments. I wish you could see it in person. The couch and chair are covered in quilts from Steinmart 😉. The great thing about a tiny house is you can easily make it whatever you want. Thanks for watching, Lilac Milkshake!
Amazed at that kitchen sink/cupboard, The first house I lived many, many years ago had that almost exact same unit. When we remodeled, I was happy to see it go. Cute house.
The sink was free! It was given to me by my friend Suzanne and took me 3 hrs to clean all the old paint and drywall mud out of it. The sink base was also free from my friends Mary Frances and Kevin. It had been sitting in their basement about 30 years! Thanks for the compliments 😊
One of the loveliest tiny houses I've seen. Also really well presented by you and Patti - she's got a fabulous sense of fun about her. And great taste!
This is the nicest tiny home I have ever seen. It seems like this lady thought about how to utilize the space and not just put things or stuff into the home that did not need to be.
Hi everyone! Thanks you all so much for all your kind words and positive feedback! Just an FYI, here's the link to my tiny house Pinterest board which shows a lot of the 'during stuff' in case anyone is interested. It's amazing how much work goes into such a tiny space 😂pin.it/66ItML5I thought you'd like this Board on Pinterest...
very lovly lady and cool man and avery cute house may live all long and peacefull life .You bouth bring smile to my face every time l wach thi vidio.peace.
This home is lovely! Does North Carolina have a fairly vibrant tiny house community? I'm planning to buy my tiny house in 3 yrs and I'm trying to learn which communities are more open to it in the U.S.
I live in Pender County where you can't even camp on your own land. How did the county like this? I sure wish they would be more open to this. It is adorable!!
Really cute, no corner was neglected! I have wanted to do cabinet cutouts someday too, with sea turtles. How was that done? Would have liked to see the bed all put together from the couch downstairs. And what did she say that bathroom toilet was?
The toilet is a PortaPotty Curve and we LOVE IT! I found it on Amazon for $124 and free shipping. The owl doors used to be shutters I made for my mom years ago. I cut them down to fit in the tiny house. I used 1/4" thick ply. I drew out half of the owl shape, put two boards together and cut out the half shape to they'd be exact. Does that make sense? I'll try to figure out how to sne you a pic of the couch made into the bed.
I am sad that the latest comments that I see are 2 years ago...is this beautiful home still being lived in? I am thrilled to find a spot near where I just moved to (Wilmington) where folks are able to live in a tiny home. Trying to learn how to do it myself!
This is a lovely home Patti! Sending you hugs from a fellow North Carolinian :) did you set this house up for you and your family to live in? Or are you using it to rent out to tenants, or like a hotel?
Right now we are using it on our river lot on the weekends only. Someday we will buy a bigger truck and take it on the road. My husband isn't ready to live tiny yet but the more we stay in it, the more convinced he is! Thanks for asking and for the compliment, Aysar Drabick!
Patti, this was great decor and thumbs up! Can you share your review of the laminate surface you used as shower walls....... Any problems with adhesion to bath walls?? A great alternative - I would like to use so many color/pattern choices, but concerned about longevity?? Great Work :-) thanks for sharing
The laminate is Wilsonart and the same one I used in my kitchen. I figured if it would hold up on the horizontal counter surface it would work well on a vertical surface such as a shower. We attached 3/8 inch plywood to the 2 x 4 framed walls. Then we caulked the corners with liquid nails. We glued the laminate to the plywood with contact cement. Then caulked all the corners again with Big Stretch caulk. Our tiny house doesn't get moved very much. But I keep an eye on the corners to make sure nothing has cracked and so far so good! Thanks for asking!
Right now it's parked on our river lot where we are building an1100 sq ft house. My husband is not ready to go completely tiny. We paid $16000 for the shell and put $5000 in the interior. It is designed for what we needed, a place to stay on the weekends so not a lot of storage and no washer/dryer. I'll need to buy a bigger truck when we decide to travel in it one day. We will then use it like a camper...a really cool awesome camper. The wonderful thing about tiny houses is you can make them whatever you need/want them to be!
There are different options. We did buy our land but I know some folks rent out a space to park theirs on, like at an rv/campground or on an individuals property, sometimes for a monthly fee or in exchange for helping on the farm.
Dark Songbird, there is a curtained pantry between the bathroom wall and the kitchen sink that has shelves and basket storage. I stir some groceries there. There is also storage under the cooktop, plus to banks of drawers, one beside the fridge and the other is part of the sink base. We don't live in the tiny house full time so the food storage has been plenty. Thanks for asking!
Anewphaze, at this time we are only staying in the tiny house on the weekends so we are only taking a couple of days of clothes. But, behind the curtain beside the sink is a pantry that can be used for clothing and there's also storage in the loft above the couch and storage under the cooktop countertop. Thanks for asking!

Wow!! This is absolutely beautiful!!! 😍 She has a real eye for decorating. I love that there is space for 5 people to sit comfortably.
Thank you MC Briggs! It's a very happy place.

You're sweet! I can only do what I like and I like happy and whimsy :) thanks Eudora!
Oh my what a beautiful home. This lady has a wonderful aura around her. She is amazing.
Nice...really love the colors for everything! The owl cabinets are my favorite part...might have to steal that design. :)
I don't think Patti would mind! Thank you for watching.
Feel free! The cabinet doors started off years ago as owl shutters I made for my mom.
I love the living area. That little chandelier above the couch is too cute!
Thank you Alison! I found the chandelier in the trash one night walking my dog, cleaned it up and painted it. I love it too :)
Beautiful. Probably one of the prettiest tiny houses I have ever seen.
Thank you Jennifer, I appreciate it!
I want to remember this one. Liking the colors, the kitchen sink, the white ceiling, love the lights hanging by the bed. Nice.
Thank you Mary. The lights were an eBay find several years ago. They used to hang in my bedroom!
The high school students did a great job building this tiny house and Patty's finishing touches make the house so appealing!
Amazed at that kitchen sink/cupboard, The first house I lived many, many years ago had that almost exact same unit. When we remodeled, I was happy to see it go. Cute house.
Stunning all around. The decorating -wow. It feels so open and the colour is so lifting but not overwhelming. Brilliant.
Thank you!
this's one of the best tiny houses I've ever seen! I would just add a washer and live there forever!!!!
Best ever layout and colors, that sink is to die for this is amazing Patti
The sink was free! It was given to me by my friend Suzanne and took me 3 hrs to clean all the old paint and drywall mud out of it. The sink base was also free from my friends Mary Frances and Kevin. It had been sitting in their basement about 30 years! Thanks for the compliments 😊

I used it in the kitchen at my regular house obviously not the tiny house!
Who else thought they all lived in there together?
Pretty
Anyone know what type/brand the toilet is?
Where does she park it? How much did it cost her? Why did she downsized? no washer/dryer

peace and love ,xvv noixkl nn
LOVE this tiny house! What brand is the composting toilet? Thanks! :)
Where do you put your belongings? It's super cute, love the aesthetic, love that retro kitchen sink 😘. But it certainly doesn't seem lived in. 🤷🏼♀️
Too cute
Nice...
How much did tiny home cost ?
Do you have to buy land to put your tiny house on?
There are different options. We did buy our land but I know some folks rent out a space to park theirs on, like at an rv/campground or on an individuals property, sometimes for a monthly fee or in exchange for helping on the farm.
What is the green colors caller called?
The walls are painted Woodlawn Valley Haze by Valspar from Lowes.
Very cute, but the volume differences and footage made it impossible to finish watching
super cute. Love it,but where does she keep her clothes?
We only use it on the weekends so clothes are in baskets in the loft.
What kind of toilet is that?
It's a PortaPotty Curve. We LOVE it! Bought on Amazon for $124 and free shipping.
Muy bonita, pero dónde se guarda la ropa?
There is clothing storage behind the curtain 😉
Where do all of her groceries go? Or does she eat out all the time?
Dark Songbird, there is a curtained pantry between the bathroom wall and the kitchen sink that has shelves and basket storage. I stir some groceries there. There is also storage under the cooktop, plus to banks of drawers, one beside the fridge and the other is part of the sink base. Great job decorating! Can someone tell me the name of the color she used on the walls?!
The walls are painted Woodlawn Valley Haze by Valspar from Lowes.
Patti Cannan Thank you! :D
❤
❤❤
I had a sink like that in my kitchen and got rid of it when I remodeled. Big mistake!!!
Maybe one day you'll come across another one. Surround yourself with what you love 😉
cute
Where are her clothes? No storage?
Anewphaze, at this time we are only staying in the tiny house on the weekends so we are only taking a couple of days of clothes. But, behind the curtain beside the sink is a pantry that can be used for clothing and there's also storage in the loft above the couch and storage under the cooktop countertop. Thanks for asking!
