      @sharpeningtheaxe Před 7 dny +2

      I was thinking that, too. Even with vaccines for COVID and the flu, being on a cruise ship puts you in constant contact with people carrying all kinds of infectious diseases. And when people are feeling sick on a cruise, they’re unlikely to quarantine for a week or two in order to protect others. Outbreaks are always a possibility, and the elderly would be especially at risk.

    I will say he did not get the same room every cruise, and would have to get on and off the ship each time.

    • @DKF_oli
      @DKF_oli Před 11 dny +8

      That was my first thought. You’d have to switch rooms like every week or two, take all your things on and off the ship to re-check in, have all your documents (passport etc) re-verified, possibly even quarantine… what a pain.

    • @ms.tatortots5419
      @ms.tatortots5419 Před 6 dny +3

      @@DKF_oliyou actually don’t if you book in advance. If you book the exact same cruise and go back to back you can keep your same room too and not have to pack all your luggage. You just get off and get back on (but you get to get back on far earlier than everyone else!) They already come to clean your room daily so it’s not like anything changes. My mom actually has been looking into doing this for quite some time and knows some friends who have lol, she already takes like 2 cruises a year.

    About mailing things: you can often get things sent to where you will be when it arrives. You can just have it be a pick up order from one of Amazon’s pick up locations or more UPS and FedEx locations at the port you’re at. You can also do this while you’re traveling in general

    Can’t wait for part 3 where Danny moves his family to live full time on the titanic replica. Packing is a breeze since you only need one shirt!

    Theres this fiction podcast called The Red Valley and whle it's mostly about cryogenics there is a plot about a cruisliner for retired and elderly folks before they pass. It's really interesting to think about when stuff liike this is happening in real life and it highlights some of the ways stuff like this can go so wrong.
