      Why not refer to everything in percentages? You could be 100-0, 0-100, 50-50, 25-75, 80-20, whatever. In fact, we only really need one number, and you could just be 100, 0, 50, 25, 80, etc, respectively. Of course, people would argue over which identity gets to have the stated percentage, but the idea itself is sound.

    • @KrisHe1
      @KrisHe1 Před 3 lety +7

      @@katiearbuckle9017 being non binary has nothing to do with not wanting to share your personal info unless when intimate? It's about not identifying with either man or woman, or for some identifying with both man and woman, and it's a spectrum where it can swing and sometimes you feel neutral and don't want either. So some might say she/them pronouns, others just they/them. And some he/they. It's very depending on person, and has nothing to do with being private and all about being trans gendered. And also being intimate/seeing someones reproductive organs won't say much about their gender, as some don't identify with their sex at birth. And not all trans people have gender reconstructive surgery, nor need to have that, to be valid. So you can't see someone naked and go "you're a man/woman". Because it is not a direct connection to their gender identity.

I’m a cis lesbian and seeing organization-wide inclusivity measures is so wonderful to see. It’s also common place for speakers at events to introduce themselves including their pronouns. To be clear, I’m not a student. This is common practice among all departments across the university including staff/faculty, so these are 65 year old accountants participating in inclusion. Also, when a an employee decides to come out as trans the university offers to make a staff wide announcement to ensure their new name, pronouns, and identity is known and respected.

      While some people are too hateful or stubborn to ever change their views, there are those out there who are just ignorant and often afraid and can change with a little gentle guidance and education. Like when Rain Dove replied to the angry mom whose child wanted a breast binder. Despite being attacked out of nowhere and called a pervert, Rain talked her through why she should buy her child a binder (safety) and how hard it is to open up about something like that and they must love each other a lot. She ended up asking if she could message again with more questions! It's not any trans person's (or any minority's) job to educate other people about why they should be treated like a person, but when they feel they can and want to and there's a response like that, it does make me feel a little bit better about humanity.

    this reminds me of the time that this guy was going off on twitter that he wasn't cis and he didn't want to be called another gender so I asked "are you cis or normal?"
    he answered "normal, so stop calling me cis!"
    so I said "but isn't the opposite of cis trans?" and he deleted his tweets from the thread

    This reminds me of those buses with transphobic stuff written on them.
    One said "Boys are boys and girls are girls" Yes and toasters are toasters and fish are fish. What's your point?
    The other one said "Trans men aren't women" Gotta love it when you're so transphobic that you go all the way around to being an accidental ally.

    that last clip just reminded me why it took so long to figure out my gender. calling it a "life altering decision" when it doesnt HAVE to be. i thought it it had to be an extreme "i am 100% against the gender i was assigned and i am going to have sex reassignment surgery TOMORROW" and that scared me. I am somewhat comfortable in my femininity and it wasnt until this year (being trans for 7 years now) that i decided i wanted to take some steps in transitioning. not every trans person wants to do life altering surgeries/hrt and before I learned that I was confused.

    One more remark:
    You metion the following tweet:
    "feminists" who exclude trans women basically admit to seeing women as walking vaginas you know, like misogynists"
    This post is about people who you call terfs, and mocks their views. So this is not trans-phobic at all. It stands by trans-women and all women: They are not defined by their genitals.
