Have you checked out ArmA Reforger? It's basically the middle ground before ArmA 4. They've made a whole new engine and it's insanely good from what I've seen and experienced so far. I tried it recently and I think it might be the only new-ish game that has not used 100% of my cpu in like 5+ years. I think ArmA 4 is going to be insanely good and hopefully not have the problems you're referring to! :D

AI shooting through bushes and trees and having better night vision without having NODs is the most realistic aspect of arma that hasn’t and won’t change

Most helicopters aren't actually bulletproof. It's usually just not feasible to heavily armor the fuselage and glass. Blackhawks were kind of the standout in that, being some of the only modern helicopters to be armored by default.

Two words nothing bohemia interactive has ever made has featured. Also Dayz is not Milsim, but having played both I understand where you're coming from

Its gonna be completely different than any other milsim or hardcore shooter. They are also still adding modding tools so modding still isn't hundred percent there but will be eventually

Arma may be more realistic than most shooters. But for starters most shooters purposefully go for an arcade style of gameplay. And also let’s be honest here, Arma still has LIGHTYEARS to go before its actually somewhat “realistic”
You have to use the map board and click persistent save if you are using community edition. But in parameters when setting up the antistasi game you can configure an autosave interval too.

Found a mod last week that (sorta) fixes AI seeing through grass. I can tell a difference at least and it feels better
