- Hey all, this is the first batch of footage with the new PC.
High speed combat landings, best way to take and hold the A.O.
Delivering groups of players to hold key positions (or accessible ones) and remain together to revive each other and protect the landing zone. Flying low to avoid detection and sometimes block incoming missiles, also for my own entertainment.
I am using a Logitech G600 mouse with Q, E, M, select, and numberpad enter - all mapped to the thumb buttons, super slow mouse speed %5-10 on the sensitivity slide in Arma controls, and a Logitech keyboard.
They should probably put mouse and keyboards controls into real helicopters~! JK - Hry

Misconduct Turn on advanced flight mode and you can fly for a living without worry,there’s not much a difference between real life.

not a mod, just KOTH Arma. You can do it too, just hover really , really close to something

A year later, 15:10 is still one of the best landings I've seen in Arma 3. Keeping your head cool and just put everyone down safely, awesome!

I remember getting to fly with you a few times. Your piloting was stellar. You actually inspired me to learn to fly on Arma, and sent me down a great path. I eventually became a very competent pilot (not quite your level) but quite decent.

Absolutely amazing skills... Love watching these as it's almost unbelievable and can't imagine how many hours of flying it took to get to this skill level.
The things I love about this and that show true skill:
1. None of it is staged because you are in a KOTH server.
2. You get it perfect, because if you fuck up your flying none of your team will trust you.
and 3. It's online so you have to deal with occasional latency issues and frame rate issues.
All and all, you're a fucking pro, good work!

I have nearly 300 hours on Arma 3 and most of that I've spent flying helicopters and fixed wings. And although my skill can come close to his, it's just that he can do such moves consistently in a server.

TEACH ME SENPAI!!!! This is AMAZING. Most pilots will literally crash by hitting a twig on a tree or straight up land next to the enemy machine gunner. Being a good pilots in it self is pretty amazing, but being a good pilot IN NON-INFANTRY Servers is EVEN MORE EPIC!!!!. Excellent job :D. This was very enjoyable to watch.

...to be fair though, I also hit trees, and land in front of machine gunners.
We all mess up sometimes, as far as enemies at LZ's I think the idea is just to keep trying different spots, but sometimes you land your parachute right in front of someone, and sometimes you land a chopper right in front of someone -its just much more noticeable when 8 ppl die instead of one.
JMO but give those other pilots a second and third chance, they might surprise you.

i generally go ~40-50 kill games on infantry US #2. This kind of insert-landing doesn't work if someone is actively trying to kill landing chopper. AmrA has a good way to balance out this behavior in my opinion :D
The One Agreed, and if you’re gonna land like this, you need a fair bit of skill. Touch a tree, dead, hit the ground too fast, dead, and so on. In bf you can crash the fucker into a wall, and get out just fine
You could do a tutorial to teach how to land, it would be top too !!

He dont need to do that. Just dont turn on the AutoHover and practise. Do a map with pawnee in eden editor and just practice, practice, practice. You can spend 10 minutes to practice and after some days you will see the changes.

i find flying in 1st person much easier personally, but for landing i switch to 3rd person too.

lol i dont even play arma, but i fly aircrafts in other games such as gta, bf's and some simulations and most of the time im pretty good at it, so seeing this makes my brain feel moist oh so moist hmmm. some of us has that certain instict of flying inside of us and the eyes for airborne manouvers, and the aircrafts becomes the part of us. its a really addicting sensation

I bought a nice joystick, but im back to using mouse and keyboard, gave it some time but i cant fly as well with the joystick.
Arma isn't really made with joysticks in mind for flying, Every exceptionally good pilot I know uses M&K. Track IR is the only worthy investment from my experience.
Man you fly great! I personally fly with a saitek x52 pro joystick and trackir and pedals. But for real you fly great with keyboard and mouse I looks a little bit choppy but that's fine with how good you are keep it up man!!!!

hehe! that one still makes me cringe cuz I came very close to hitting a few objects along that path. Failing those maneuvers is a great way to get told off (and deserve it)
Cool flying that fits the application perfectly in KOTH however there is no way any Milsim group would ever allow you to fly like that. Just not realistic in any way and extremely difficult with a jotstick and throttle. Will have to post some of my flying with a mouse and keyboard so we can compare!

It's cool to watch him fly like that, but not possible with advanced flight model though. And is the collision fucked up? I saw multiple moments where your main & tail rotors were hitting a building or object, which would normally destroy them.
EDIT: Reading the comments, I guess it's the server side scripts auto-repairing. Well then everyone can be a great pilot when he doesn't have to worry about damaging his helicopter. :P
Also, try to do this in first person only. Only then you are a good pilot.

Its a script on the server... without some scripts on this server, he is not so good...

That is a well known 'glitch' where you are very close to damaging but it dosn't, or not always.
A couple things to remember:
1. Arma is really glitchy, I could show you 5 places on the map to be eaten by a rock.
2. Over a long enough timeline many crazy things happen in Arma, if you record them all and cut out the boring stuff, it looks like this.
In king of the hill there must be a some kind of auto repair script for main rotors or its a glitch im not sure. That happened to me aswell.

Its VERY easy to say this isn't special when you don't have a video to show something that is.
Every skilled pilot flies like this in arma. It's extremely easy to fly in arma 3, it's not a helicopter sim. Turn on advanced flight module and repeat what you did.
Alternately, you could make a video and show us all how its done. Or continue nay-saying from the sidelines... up to you.

ThorTheGamer if he was the maneuvers he was pulling would have caused him to crash, as great as the landings are if you try it with it on you will damage your main rotor 🙃
not the advanced flight model, I dont think mouse and keyboard is the right tool for that job, a proper HOTAS and head tracker would be a worthwhile setup, this is 3rd person simple flight model to take every advantage I can get - because I almost always play against Stackfor.

W(nose down)SAD, Q&E on mouse (G600), select/action on mouse, map on mouse, toggle POV on mouse. Also I use a very slow mouse speed which helps for fine tuning movements. Thanks for watching!
