Nice surprise seeing a vid come up this morning. Sucks you didn't get to make a good pass. Hope you get the ecu figured out.
Bummer dude. It was awesome that those people gave their time to lend you a hand in solving the issue. Best of luck!
Get rid of the stock ecu and get a standalone system. It’s the second best investment I’ve made, after a built trans for my VR. You’re super lucky too cause it looks like you’re local to teamallrace.
Yep. Standalone is the next route. I have sds on my rabbit. Old technology and flawless
solid setup in the trailer! sorry to see the issues but it’s just the nature of the beast sometimes.
Dude, I had the same issues with my eu once I supercharged my Corrado. Fought with chip tuning for almost two years and finally went standalone. ended up going emu black, and finally got a tune and its been running great ever since. feel for ya but I know that feeling. good luck in the future. '
That sucks , glad you got it figured out, hope all works out , awesome work and love every thing you do !
Bummer it didn't work out this time but it's got to feel good knowing what the issue is and believing this issue won't be popping up again once its sorted out.
In your first attempt, is that a family member singing Coldplay in the sideline shot? "When you try your best..." Gave me a bit of a laugh.
Look up Dictator from south Africa 🇿🇦. They do all vw cars, the software and base maps are free. It will run you around $300. Add the 02 setup they supply separately. The ecu comes with the engine wiring harness but was missing a heat sink. Remember youl need a dino tune to make the most of it.
Your other cheap option is Gotech, I had it on a highly modified 16v rabbit caddy with 4age throttles. You can change fuel and timing from a dial mounted on the dash while driving after the dino tune. Never had any problems.
WooHoo! My stock Cabriolet is faster than a VR6 supercharged GTI.
I hope you get it figured out soon, I was really excited to see a good pass.
I'm sorry your 1st time at the track with this car was disappointing for you. Keep at it though.... You'll get it just right soon. I have faith you will. Keep the AWESOME VW content coming bro.
Agree with Nikko, get a standalone with a wide band o2.
Bummer man! Get at it and I'm looking forward to some more videos from the drag strip!
Good content. Thanks for sharing. This an awesome series learning so much.
lol. this happen to me. boost cut in my 1.8t. connected my vacuum line wrong to the wastegate
Same thing happened to my 337 computer locked the APR ONE TIME
Stand-alone is fine but a good tune and you are golden. Start with Unitedmotor sports 440 tune it’s been battle proven over and over not to mention 20years of bugs worked out to make a decent tune
Car and trailer are badass👌😎
Great efforts, Dictator works best on Vr6 atleast here in South Africa. Maybe in U.S.A theres better options for your Supercharged mk1. Stand alone setup definitely best option
Glad you took us on the journey with you good or bad. I don't blame you on what happened. I mean its been years you been itching to get back on the track and it finally came so of course the optimism is going to be high. Back in the day I was more of a bolt on enthusiast, but everyone that I knew with blown corrado/mk3 vr's pushed 6-8psi on a stock ecu and would pull just fine. Not sure what tuners did for this but they were either off the shelf vf kits or ams kits. Is it a combination of high boost/high load that is putting the ecu in limp? Does the factory ecu use a MAP sensor or is it just a MAF? I hope you crack this on stock ecu its the low buck witty solution. If you do go standalone I won't be mad though lol.
Hey man love the content and thanks for taking us on the journey, do you thing you would be able to do a feature on the green Jetta and the black golf they look mean
Those vr6 rims are from the south africa models of jetta and golf 3 vr6
What are some options when it comes to standalone ECUs for VR6s?
Nice video, sorry you had a bad day at the track. Some of the chip tunes have issues too, I've seen a few complain about C2 chips, hopefully you can get your other ECU worked out. I'm welding on my caddy right now, but this new series has got me thinking about the VR6 sitting in the corner of the garage...
Your :( reflection in the dash gauge at 12:15 says it all.
Nice video Regards from Holland
Thanks so much! Appreciate the support, thanks for watching!!
