  • We change the brake fluid in a 2016 Honda CB500F. This would be VERY similar in a CB500X or CBR500.

Nice straight forward explanation. I would suggest first syphoning the old fluid out of the reservoir and start the bleeding process with a full reservoir of fresh brake fluid. Syphon fluid from the reservoir only, not the brake line.

That's a great suggestion 👍. I usually siphon out old fluid from the reservoir when I am doing a car, but on the motorcycle the reservoir is so small, and the job is so fast, I just didn't bother. I am really starting to appreciate how easy everything is on a motorcycle. It is really facilitating doing less, but still feeling accomplished 😆

Was (1) 12oz Prestone Dot 4 enough for both front and back brake fluid?
Great videos! They’re clean and concise! New sub

Thanks for the sub 👍. It is possible to do front and back with 12oz. No guarantees 😀, but possible.
