Agreed on how difficult this is. We did the bud light/coors light/miller lite with a group of us including my buddy who is Mr. Coors light and he couldn’t pick out Coors light…..4x over 😂
Preach
When I was in Golden, CO and took the tour I was actually rather surprised at how good, "The Banquet of Beers" tasted from the brewery. I was hesitant to talk about going to breweries on another's page but that might be a great series of teaming up with breweries, visiting, tasting and promoting each other to fight against the big ones who fight amongst themselves...
Banquet is "project" beer. Working on the yard, painting the house, staining the deck - always keep some Banquet on hand. For years I avoided it because of the stigma of the macros. But there is a time and place for it and it's delicious in those moments.
drink what you enjoy. 🙌🏻
Nate's buzzin' for this one, love to see it
gonna say the same lol
So Coors banquet is the king of American macro lagers (out of the popular huge corporations) so far in your videos !! My fav as well !
Nothing beats a Coors banquet in a stubby bottle while a hot day on the water fishing
👍🏻🙌🏻
Great video and results. I was anti-Coors for decades. About a year ago, on a whim, picked up a six pack of Banquet, my favorite go to beer, don't even give the other macro brewers a thought now.
nice - always a good idea to revisit things!
BRO i thought i was the only one that noticed the heineiken banana note!! I ALWAYS say it to my friends and they never pick up on it. Makes it undrinkable for me hahaha.
I grew up on Bud. Occasionally still enjoy a Bud Heavy.
Budweiser has always been my favorite. Especially frost cold. But i actually drank my first Coors Banquet beer today. And...sorry King. You've been overthrown.
It's great to see the blind tastings again. Love those videos.
It was awsome to see the new blind in the video.
Thank you Nate and to all of you at Tree House Brewery that made my day.
Can't wait to visit Deerfield location June 12 when were down that way again.
Cheers Brian from Canada
thanks for the box, Brian! see you soon! we’ll mention your work in a future video 😁😁
Yes I love the blind tasting videos!! Awesome you nailed it!
Glad you like them!
It’s like people that claim they can blindly choose their favorite vodka. They never can when I test them
his palette is phenomenal! wow.
I love these videos. I am interested in other people's takes on beers and the tasting notes. I don't drink any of these, but coors banquet at the brewery is just different. It is the best of those 3 in my opinion. I am not a beer girl, though. I do love tasting beer! I only really enjoy stouts and porters every so often. Still love these videos!
Fantastic video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Banquet is a solid brew.
Love that last comment - just when I thought you were going to let us know which of the three you would drink on a warm summer day, you dropped a TRUTH BOMB - Julius!!!!!
The juuuuuiiiiccceee
Love these videos guys! And your interaction with everyone. It’s incredible to see such a wonderful product from a business that’s in such an explosive growth time to still take moments to connect with their followers. Bravo! Have you all ever considered a Kolsch taste test? I’ve tried so many local brewery Kolsch beers and even the imports and I find them all so unique and dynamic. I don’t think I’ve tried a Kolsch style ale that I’ve disliked ever. Also, if you guys are Beatles fans and would ever be interested, my brother hosts a podcast called Blotto Beatles where they have some beverages, discuss one Beatles song at a time and rank them. They’re local dudes too and I bet they’d love to add you to the brewery list of guests as they’ve had the Devils Purse guys and Sam Calagione on. Cheers!
Gotta do a Canadian version! Labatt, Molson, etc
I have thoughts! I thoughts this channel is AWESOME!! Edit! After watching it again, it occurs to me that your editor deserves a raise.
thanks, I think?
@@treehousebrewco haha! Pay the man (or woman)!
High life and Coors Banquet are the only choices for my palate. Coors was one of the first major breweries to use cascade hops.
Same here man. But I'd prefer coors over high life just out of preference
I love watching these beer reviews. Cheers salud and PROST ✌️
Glad you like them!
Banquet beer is my go to 30 rack but sometimes, after mowing the lawn, crushing a bud heavy makes me feel good
awesome work man love it brother
Much appreciated
@@treehousebrewco would love to see more of treehouse via longisland Ny. Love you guys.
Banquet has always been my personal fave of the big American beers. And always nice to see Bud go down.
it hit really nicely in this tasting for sure!
IPAs! There's so many to taste! I want videos of IPAs!
Props to highlife for hanging in with "premium" beers that sell for at least $5 more per 12 pack.
I just drink beer occasionally, and I did research into what beer drinkers consider the best of the "mass market" inexpensive beers. Coors Banquet seems to be well respected, so I went with that, I enjoy it very much. I've had Bud a bunch in restaurants and stuff, it's fine.
Coors Banquet has done well in many of our tastings for sure!
the banana note in Budweiser is so true
undeniable
Great video but using miller genuine draft probably would have been a better choice over high life and I definitely agree with you on the temperature they all should have been relatively similar temperature.and I'm drinking a banquet as I type good shit man
God dang it - I wish you distributed to Oregon. LOL.
Oregon has the best beer culture of any state. You can fill up your car and fill up a growler. Had some exceptional vacations in Oregon enjoying its many craft beers. Hood River brewery that had Hop Lava comes to mind. Pared with a Jersey pizza pie!
I'm here to listen to Nate refer to all things as "guys", ha. Love these videos!
☹️
This is fun to watch and I don’t drink alcohol. Thank you
You’re welcome!
Great video. I love the blind tastings of the macro brews. Well done on knowing your brews.
Glad you enjoyed it
Julius THUMPS these beers
🧃
What about Narragansett and Yuengling as a blind tasting?
It's not a visit to Misquamicut beach without a Narragansett.
Next time!
Love a cold High Life after mowing the lawn on a hot summer day.
🙌🏻
Given Charlton is empty behind him, can we assume Nate was knocking back Bud heavies in the AM? Baller stuff.
I work for Coors in Golden. Good call my friend
That’s cool. Thanks for stopping by!
Awesome job, I do enjoy the full body of these cheap American beers
thanks!
recently had coors at a baseball game being the cheapest option at about $5 for 12oz can. haven't tried bud in a long while but banquet had a hint of sweetness. I see why some people are choosing banquets recently.
Good price
My pallet is all over the place, depending on weather. In winter, when it’s cold, I like really dark beers. It summer I like something lighter and refreshing. I don’t care for anything Light, or IPA’s. (They taste like grapefruit to me.) The only beer I’ve ever dumped down the drain is a Michelob Ultra. 😂
mich ultra is tough for sure
Cold Cap for the W!
One of my old friends had Miller High Life at his house like 8 years ago. I had one and quit hanging out with him😂
🤣
Yeah, i had a group of guys who swore how easy this would be and we did Budweiser/Banquet/high life/busch and the only one they got right was Budweiser bc of how sweet it was.
it’s very hard especially if you don’t drink them often
It’s so hard to tell beers like these apart when blind sampling! I’d love to see a video where customers try to identify Julius, Haze and Green in a blind tasting.
Good idea. I find these three to be incredibly easy.
Ive watched a lot of your tasting videos and you seem to take really small sips. Is this true? If so do the small sips make it easier to pick out nuances? Thanks!
i sample beer (and spirits, and coffee) all day every day and have a responsibility to be with it 100% of the time to lead our team that I take very seriously. i don’t need much and have been at it professionally for 15 years.
the new box looks really nice, well done.
we have a friend from Canada to thank for that! more details in an upcoming video!
Bud still the king
Many years ago a DJ buddy of mine and I did a monthly gig at a divey spot in DC. We talked the owner into a 3 hour open bar with a $5 cover-caveat being it was beer only-and the only two choices were Coors Banquet and Corona. The Banquet wasn’t terrible actually…shockingly so.
sounds like good time honestly
Full agree with the dim view of Budweiser and appreciation of Coors and MHL. I must say, High Life really shines out of a cold bottle though. Yall should do a battle of the East Asian Macros next : Asahi, Sapporo, Tsingtao, Chang, SIngha, etc !
that is on the list!!
@@treehousebrewco hell yeah
Love these videos! Great job Nate. You mentioned the temperature difference. I always assumed you took them from the same cooling vessel...hmmm. I am not a fan of the macro beers, but back in the day I did drink my fair share of MGD, which is pretty close to High Life. Goes down easy....when cold! Cheers.
We took them from the fridge. Was a bit bizarre but i made it work!
I'm suprised Pabst Blue Ribbion wasn't a contender in this analysis! Tends to be my go-to cheap domestic lager, but Coors has always been my runner up.
we have it in another tasting! it can be hard to choose, stay tuned, we'll do more!
Interesting choice with the High Life...I would have included Miller Genuine Draft to go up against Bud heavy and Coors.
my thought as well
we went back and forth, always time for another video!
If I do domestic and its among these three...its Miller High Life. And agree...Bud is a no go.
battle of the big boys
There’s also something to be said for enjoying one of these beers after having a few craft beers. That’s for a couple of reasons. Sometimes you palate needs a break after drinking hazy IPAs, especially some of the extra soft, sweet and heavy-feeling ones. Also, drinking $8-$9 pints if you are out all night can get pretty expensive! Nothing wrong with downshifting to a less expensive lager. I’m a firm believer that every bar, even craft beer-focused bars, need to have at least one inexpensive beer on tap or in cans.
variety is the spice of life
Do it over with them the same temperature!
Figured MGD and Busch regular could have been added.
Next time!
As a pro brewer I do not even need to watch this. High life or die. also after watching ive probably drank 10,000 high lifes, maybe 12 bud heavys and like 1000 coors. i wanna do this just for myself because I think I can pick em out
is the Julius a lager or a ale also what kind of style of beer is it?
It's a New England IPA. Basically hopped orange juice.
🇺🇸High Life for my Life 👍🏻
Second time that banquet wins on the blind taste 🎉
Why not redo with proper temp??
High Life + frosty mug = classic
🤘🏻🤘🏻
I like MGD more than all of these, even if High Life has the better mouthfeel. Think I like Milwaukee’s Best Light more than all these, too, even if, again, High Life has the better mouthfeel. Yep, I’m certainly a Miller guy through & through.
We’ll get into MGD in a future video for sure
Highlife needs to be in the glass bottles if I understand it’s biggest fan
It taste best out of a bottle and freshly made. The can version is distinctly different tasting imo, but is cheaper priced than bottles
Buschhhhhhhh reigns supreme amongst the domestic conglomerates!
it didn’t do well in the last tasting ☹️
@@treehousebrewco I respect that! Craft beer is always the way to go, but growing up in Central Pennsylvania, Busch was the choice when I was under 21! Also the go to for late nights at the sprint car tracks! Love y'alls beer and videos. Ever going to start distributing to Colorado?
Weird to hear they taste similar. I remember having high life last year for the first time and not liking it. But coors is a favorite of mine for sure
they definitely have their differences - I was just trying to say telling them apart to the layman is harder than most think. there was an anecdote shared on the last video that there's an establishment in the midwest (I think?) that taps them interchangeably and no one ever says a word
@@treehousebrewco that’s pretty funny. That’s not critique of y’all, the only time I drink miller high life is as a nascar negroni lol
May I suggest a white lab coat for Nate when doing these vids?
not a bad idea!
I always thought Bud Light had a banana taste to it.
It is weird seeing those in a teku glass
one of the better ways to taste for me. Funnels aroma. Not a good drinking glass, though.
Or a hot summer day, a Labatt Lite/ Blue Light. Hint hint
Are you Canadian? I’m here in the USA drinking yuenglings.
Hope you had a tree house brew on standby to wash your palate lol!!
watch til the very end 😁
Coors Light > Coors Banquet > High Life > Hamms > Rainer > Olympia (RIP) > Old German > Bud Heavy > Bud Light > Rolling Rock
rainier can hit right for sure
Hamms #1
@@NickSim86 yeah I should've put Hamm's higher.
Sorry Henry Weinhart by Hop Valley Oregon is best then go Molson Canada due to better water
This is insanely difficult to do with any type of beer, let alone 3 macros like these
grew up about 5 miles from coors... can't stand that beer lol... great video!
Whereabouts, CO?
@@treehousebrewco Wheatridge, just east of the Coors brewer... ever hear of the 'short tour' 🙂
No one, we all lose haha
Highlife is Miller's "normal" beer? Miller light tastes like dry peanut butter and highlife just tastes like weak generic keystone tier stuff... Banquet and full fat bud are ok.
what did miller do to you? Hah
Is golden promise in orange Julias?
Someone’s fired for not cooling the beers to the right temperatures
nah, it was a minor detail. still got it right in the end
Haven’t even started watching. The only correct answer is 1) High Life, 2) Banquet, 3) Bud Heavy
i would agree but tasting removes bias
This is definitely the 'macro lager' of video editing.
I clicked on this after buying a tall can of Coors and Bud.
Bud is too bland for my taste
Yeah I have found all of them to be gross. They are beers you drink in high school when you have no money and don’t care about taste.
Don’t be disrespecting the coors banquet like that
Where's PBR? The obvious winner? Quit playing, I am a hobbiest, and I could tell you what beer in those glasses, from ten feet away, as could you. Gittin' them clicks, I understand.
If temperatures are such a big deal … then fix that. It’s not a hard problem to solve. Don’t go into a video with easily solved variables.
why would you even. you can barely call that shit beer.
Siiiiiike at the end. Too good
I’d like to see your opinion on IPAs that you can find almost everywhere. For example, at gas stations and such
Fantastic video Nate!!!!!
coors yellow jackets 🐝
1000%
I was drinking Julius while watching this video…..
