  • We have very strict road laws in Australia, the police with confiscate your bike and then sell it at auctions if they catch you riding on the road so I went out and bought a legal version of the Sur-Ron. I custom built the tidy tail wild some mild steel SHS hopefully will get around to building a better one with Ali after some fine tuning of the design. The mirrors and just cheap $17 AUD ones from EBay

    Could you do a video talking about the registration and the laws you had to deal with getting it road legal, I’m wanting to get one but I’m worried just sticking to 25km/h and being on the side path will still get me in trouble, it’s not even the fine I’d care abt it’s the chance at losing something worth Thousands in an instant.

      Are you in Australia? You can't ride on side walks here and mine is registered as a motorcycle so I'm not restricted to speed

    Nice bro. Does the super Moto tyres go onto the stock Sur-Ron wheels?

    • @danburgez
      @danburgez  Před rokem +1

      These rims are the stock 17" from the Surron youth, if I was to buy these tyres again I would just get 2 rear tyres as the front is too skinny

    Nice bike. Did you register it as moped or regular motorcycle?

    • @danburgez
      @danburgez  Před 8 měsíci

      I bought this off a bloke who already had it registered as a motorcycle. I know people do get there's registered as a moped tho

    Cheers for the vid mate. This is exactly the speed i got on the flat, 68-69kmh. I’m thinking about the x9 and the 72v 57AH battery. Stock just isn’t fast enough. I thought about getting the 66v chi battery too. I need to be able to do 80kmh or very close as i ride on 80km roads and i think it may get close to 80 without a controller change. Advantage would be i can still use my stock battery, so would have 2 batteries.
    Can you go into detail on what you did with that tail tidy? I got some cheap shit off ebay and it’s cooked. I cant even jump off a gutter without it flexing and the rear wheel eating the plate. I havent been able to do any off-road stuff since getting the tidy and rego, annoying the hell out of me.

      The X9000 V2 controller is definitely the one to go with, and Torp is a good second choice.
      Best to get a battery at the same time tho as there is only so much you can pull from the stock batteries unless you bypass them.
      The tidy tail didn't end up working, I now have my plate mounted under the seat similar to the LBX surron plate running an Aliexpress tail light and indicators all in one. I just take the plate off when I go offroad

      Before I got the Ron I was looking for some Aussie content, you've pretty much done everything I need to do, wished I found your channel sooner. The algorithm is junk.

      Hey mate, I posted a short where you can see what tail light im running. My number plate just bolts to that, I've made it so I can remove it quickly offroad

    where did you get the tail tidy and how did you fit it ? could you make a video on it if possible

    • @danburgez
      @danburgez  Před 2 měsíci

      I fabricated the tidy tail, but it didn't end up work as it still would hit the rear wheel. I just posted a short where you can see the tail light set up now

    Hey Bro, what mirrors did you get? I got some that look the same off Amazon, they said to fit 7/8 bar, they were the bar rod end combo ones, but no way they will clamp the bar, way too small. 20.5mm, need to be 22, the clamp wont even wrap the bar.

    • @danburgez
      @danburgez  Před 2 měsíci

      Hey mate, I got these mirrors from Aliexpress. My bars are the moto style that are thicker bar ends, so I can't put the mirrors in the end, but no problem clamping to them

      Yeah, in Australia if you want to ride on the road it does, comes under a moped licence

      Not enough in stock form 😆 lots of variables, weight, riding style, riding speed, gearing.
