    Thank you so much for this video. It's really tough for me to find slim fit shorts that I like, going to convert my old pants over to shorts myself instead of bringing them to a place and paying for it!

    Thank you for another great tutorial. I wished I'd seen this before hemming my shorts. I thought I was on the right track with cutting, folding and pressing it evenly, until I started to stitch. Although I lined up the existing side and inseam stitches, by the time I'd sewn all the way to the inseam, it looked like I'd had excess fabric, and it bunched up on the inseam. I might just do a rolled cuff 😂

    Thanks for this! Just what I was looking for. No sewing machine, but I think anybody can learn to hand sew if they have to👍

    What do you do when the bottom of where you cut is smaller than the area on the leg you are hemming it?

    thank you so much for another inspiring video. Can you just check this: when I click the link for seam gauge (don't know what that is...), I see a ruler on Amazon. Is that correct? I was really curious for that seam gauge!

    If the scrap denim is stretchy and I want to use it for quilt squares mixed with other denims, do I need to iron on stabilizer to the back of the squares?

    • @JanHowell
      @JanHowell  Před 3 lety +1

      No, I wouldn't worry about it. I have used both on the same quilt with no issues.

    Hi, will fabric adhesive spray work to keep the hem? I don’t know how to sew

    • @JanHowell
      @JanHowell  Před 2 lety

      I've never used it for hemming. They do have iron on seam tape that would work well. geni.us/ax2IXDv

    If the shorts are stretchy, should we use a stretch stitch?

  • @lovingjesus5184
    @lovingjesus5184 Před měsícem

    Mine keep bunching when I fold them up an inch. Like there is too much material.

    • @JanHowell

      Yes, if you're pants have a quick narrowing, this will happen.

    The right way = method 2 = method 4. Method 1 and 3 should be banished! Especially 3 gives you that sad looking 40 year old mom/dad look.
