i often wonder how the scotus woulda spun it if trump had actually pulled the coup off! i wonder if they are thinking of that when they decide if he should be immune from prosecution. he probably would have had to declare martial law and nullified the supreme court and congress. if they think it thru they wouldnt want trump to be immune from prosecution!
If the President didn’t have to uphold the Constitution, why should anybody? We are either a country of laws where nobody is above the law or we have anarchy and chaos.

I don't know for sure but I believe a vote would have to go through the house and senate. We haven't had the votes in the house to get an expansion.
That's something I need to look into. If so, that's one more reason to gain majority in the house and hopefully add a couple to the senate.

And a pardon is an admission of guilt regarding committing a crime, yet why would Nixon need a pardon if as Trump is claiming, presidents have absolute immunity?
And at the same time as a former Republican president is arguing primarily that he as president (but has to concede other president also do) has absolute immunity, Republican Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer is saying he will be making criminal referrals to the US Justice Department of President Biden as a possible 'exit strategy' regarding his failed Biden impeachment inquiry.
And even Trump himself laughably described Obamagate (despite not actually stating what it was) as:
“The biggest political crime in American history, by far!”

Regarding Ford pardoning Nixon, the President is the Chief Law Enforcer for the Executive Branch. A sitting President can pardon ANYONE before or after an official investigation.
Exactly & after the investigation it was clear that Nixon should not have been pardoned. He didn't pardon him bc of the investigation's results. He pardoned him bc they were friends. Out of loyalty.

There should be a new law about how a supreme court justice is chosen to include CIA style background checks and timeline for the pathway and it not be allowed to sit on the appoinment for more than 60 days.

I want to know when social security income is going to catch up to the rest of the country income. Seniors are the highest hit with costs of of care and rents and transportation. But we are the least paid a living wage. 😢 its difficult for seniors to survive.
