As car enthusiasts, we take the cars out to events and hang out with car people all the time. It's great to hear I'm not alone. That means it's not a local issue, but clearly a national one, as we are many time zones apart.
I hope our videos are viewed for as many years as the i8's are on the road and it helps people understand more about what the car is and what it's capable of.

it is slower than its competitors. The Audi R8 and the Mercedes-AMG GT. So it is slow, LOL

Hahaha, I like that comment like also Pats funny one! Only that the i8 with 3 cyl is faster than an E60 M5 V10 says it all. But I love my other i (3) just as much. It is just super practical in the city and also easily leaves fast sports cars behind at traffic lights with its instant full torque. The engineers did a great job on both cars!
I agree. I like the interior of the i3. Just wish it was more sportier looking
But it’s not the 3cylinder that’s faster it’s the electric motor, it’s common sense.
I8 wasn’t made to be a fast car. It’s an engineering concept that came to life. If you want fast, get an M4 and tune it. Lol
And I had a chance to get a M4 CS with the carbon package and I opted for the i8

Reason why I didnt is because I owned 4 M3's already. Was ready for a change to something different

Here is my "slow" experience. I test drove an M8 when it came out. I OWN an i8 (one of my daily drive cars). The M8 was GREAT on paper. Took it out of the dealer on the highway. Floored it. Iwas NOT impressed. Took WAY longer to proper torque. Yes, it has pullthrough, but man, the reaction times. The i8 is GREAT - too bad a larger model is cancelled because that could have been straight in supercar territory. But SLOW? NO WAY, the i8 is brutally strong an direct.
Ah man I've been wanting to drive one. Sorry to hear it disappointing. For me, I wanted something different in a car and the i8 delivers. Yeah its no M3 but damn I think its faster than mine. Im sure of it.
People love to hate, i highly doubt they can afford one tho, its an amazing car mate

Compare that to a Mercedes AMG one
Once I rode in a mercedes I was instantly turned off. Thats what kept me buying BMW's actually
I really love the i8 the looks are amazing but what threw me of was why play the engine threw the speakers and peoplw saying its slow threw me off about it and the price 100k plus I'm not rich so I just have a 335 xi 2008
The engine sound threw the speakers is becoming a thing with car manufacturers these days. People want to hear something. And manufacturers are making external speakers to give a real simulated sound outside the car programmable by your cellphone. And the cost have dropped. You can pick up a higher mileage i8 for under $50k now. Mine cost $66k for a BMW CPO with 34k miles

I've been away from the channel. Nice that you opted for the i8. I'm in Chicago and you rarely see them. Teslas are all over the place. Like I said been away from the chanhel, you moved to Arizona?

I love the I8's. But i think they mean compared to lets say F10 M5's around the same price. In fact F10's are a bit cheaper
i8 has better aesthetics though
@@PracticalInvesting no doubt. But from a straight line point of view (which these days is pointless in my opinion) the performance is better on an f10 M5

RDDC is take the i8. The R8 is a great car it just doesn’t stand out. Not saying I like serious attention but I do 😉
IMO people that bad mouth the i8 do not understand the car and why people buy it. There's way way more to this vehicle than 0-60 time. It has a huge range of abilities that possibly more "pure" sports cars do not posses. I bought my i8 for many many more reasons than strictly it's 0-60 times. Which to be fair is very respectable. But the car has so many more facets and nuances and interesting things about it. It's really something special. I love my i8 like a silly love struck teenager :-) My .02c
I agree. The car is plenty fast enough for me. It's stylish and very futuristic looking and will be for years to come still. Driving long distances are fine and it's comfy. The wife loves it so im good

M5 is too big for me I think. I have no kids, no need for a 4 door. The i8 is in a completely different class of car IMO. The older I get the less fast I need to be

Not sure what you mean by that. But of course I'm defending a car people assume is slow while they compare it to million dollar cars
