I have a great system that ensures no burglars will ever take prized valuables. About 6 years ago I got married, this year we had a kid. Now I have nothing to steal! Yay!
Just how much water do you think is in my water heater that it is going to raise the water level in my 500+ sqft garage high enough to reach guns in my gunsafe? Assuming my garage is water tight to begin with.
IMPORTANT!! I am a civil engineer and could not help notice that there was apparently no seismic strap on your hot water heater. Please look into this to avoid a potential fire if your water heater is not secured to the wall and gets disloged. Also, I love the safe and it makes sense that you have way more to lose in the value of guns versus the cost of the safe. My son and I love your channel and sarcasm. My boss tells me it is my sarcasm that is holding me back from greatness at work :)
I am torn between getting a safe or not. Currently all my firearms are hidden around the house (no kids present). I feel that if you have a safe you are broadcasting to anybody that breaks in "here is all my good stuff...come and try to get it" If you hide it then anybody who breaks in has no clue there are any firearms in the house and just proceeds to steal your tv or blu ray player or some other low value item. I am still on the fence though...
Been watching your videos for a while now and your very informative. And u do a good job with the antics u throw in. I saw this one on the safes and I've outgrown my canon safe and need a bigger one. Bigger better right ?? I feel the. Cannon safe Is a good choice cause I've owned and moved this 1k lbs block of steel a few times now. I'm done with that. But anyway. What safe do u recommend if u recommend any at all. Thank you B Hewitt Bunker Hill , Indiana
so has your upper shelf started to bow down yet? i don't have much weight on mine and it has bowed about 3/4 of an inch now. I thought about putting a mirror in the back up near the top of the safe for more lighting. It tends to get dark in there at times. I have a few strapped to the door ready to rock too.
Yankee Marshall have you ever had any problems out of your safes in the back in your intro? I have one like that I bought as a starter safe and its locked with four guns in it and will not open, i know the combo and still cant get in it. When I could access it the last time it had gotten to where it would take me putting the combo in two or three time to get it open then one day it decided it wasn't going to open anymore. I am going to use a grinder to cut it open I guess.
Do you use any sort of dehumidifiers? Thanks for the videos. I just bought a rechargeable one you plug into the wall when the beads turn pink.. for my cheap $200 safe..
What are some things that I should look for in buying a gun safe? Obviously, I know I need to buy bigger than I think I do. Do you recommend the digital keypad systems or is another locking method more secure? Thanks for the videos, keep up the great work!
An impact drill is nice, but for such a small installation a regular corded drill and a masonry bit will work fine. Just make sure to drill a little, vacuum the hole, drill a little, vacuum the hole, etc.
What do you think about the quality of this safe? How is the electronic lock working out? I'v been thinking about getting this safe but not sure about the long-term reliability of an electronic lock. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and great vid!
I am not even using the front half of this one yet. It will be a long time before I need larger. Hopefully I will have moved before that happens and can build a safe room.
Hey Bub, what are the top handgun slot-type holders that you are using the hold the polymer pistols called? I'd like to purchase a few sets of those for my gun-safe. Thanks for any help on locating them! Thanks, Pat in Idaho.
Same place you got this one Yankee is a smaller version I like for $299, thought getting that one for some of the pistols. What would be your thought on getting that one and then bolting the handvault to the top? Can I drill through the top of the safe easily you think?
Is extra space the only reason you upgraded? Or, did you also want more security/fire protection? I vaguely recall a video that you did about homeowners insurance.
How many total firearms do you have? I saw like over 30 pistols alone. Really nice set. I'm looking for another handgun that's a .40 I'm only like 5.5 and 130 pounds, and wanting something around the 350-400$ range any suggestions?
Since you have so many pistols, how do you store your magazines so they don't all get mixed up? I stack mine behind my guns but it looks like it's already a little crowded in there.
Love the location you chose, your garage ? Isolates the safe and contents from the main living area and supplies the burglars with all tools necessary to break into it. Great idea, plus having total strangers to help you move it, another great idea.
I am working on getting a safe installed this week. I have never drilled concrete for the purpose of bolting something to it. Do you have any suggestions that I should be aware of?
Will you expound, educate and/or give us a story on your hand grips, especially the yellow and green hand grips on the 2nd shelf from the top? Thank you
Scott Spencer Yes and no. They certainly do a great job against your average individual or teenage thug trying to find money. He'll get into your house, pull on the door, punch it, and move on. As for people who actually know how to get into safes, yes, you are correct. Winchester uses the typical Chinese/Mexican safes that thousands of companies slap their names on. They are not quality safes. You pay a lot for Winchester's name as well. It's a $375-400 safe that he probably paid about $1300 for. Personally, I own a Fort Knox. There are a few reputable companies out there, but most are trash.
If you want a Ft Knox, send a message to Curt and Elizabeth at CE Safes in Florida. They are the top distributor for Ft Knox in the country. They sold so many that Ft Knox allowed Curt to customize his own line for his customers called the M2. That's what I bought. It's a "no frills" safe that has the bear necessities of what you would want, but you can spice up the protection (thickness and gauge) all day long. They cost about 50% less because they aren't covered in "bling" and "frills." He designed it about a year ago. Before the first one had even been made, he'd already sold about 40 of them.
@TheYankeeMarshal What kind of Sentry Safes did you have if you don't mind me asking? I am currently in the market for a low cost, "entry" safe and I'm looking pretty closely at the sentry safe brand. Btw I'm totally digging the humor, loved the "colon carry" jeans vid.
I notice you have a couple of lever action rifles (Though one appears to legally be a pistol, since it lacks a stock). Out of curiosity, is there any reason to use a lever action other than personal preference? I mean, I find them cool, I just don't know of any advantages the would offer when hunting or something similar over a bolt action.
Secondly first thing I thought when I saw you were moving something was "gotta be a Yankee ass shot somewhere in this video" glad you're not one to disappoint.
Where did you purchase the safe? I have been looking around town, but the price is whats holding me back! I like the size of your safe! Which model Winchester safe is it?
Great vid. Did you get rid of your old safe or did you keep it. I only ask because it seems to me like you must have some rather expensive camera/computer equipment. Besides firearms, I am prone towards technology and security. I hope you have an external hard drive system that you save your data to and put them in a safe when you leave your house. Again, great vid; and fantastic collection.
That's an awesome safe, congrats on your purchase. I'm looking to get a new safe after the first of the year...granted I only have a couple handguns, so I won't be needing a small closet size safe like yours. :P Someday I hope.
I'm in the market for a safe myself. I don't have a very big collection so I'm tempted to get a somewhat smaller safe but then I worry about what I'll do if I have to expand.
here is an interesting question for you yankee.....if you could keep 6 rifles and 6 pistols (thinking in rule of 2, or rule 3, for instance, 2 ARs in case one goes down) what would those weapons be and why, might make a good video for ya
Where can I get that pistol gun rack that you have there in your safe? I think that's what I need...all my handguns are laying flat on its side...just taking up space
I have the 24 gun version of that and it weighs 500 lbs. somehow with my helpful movers it ended upside down. I opened the door to get all the stuff out, not thinking about it being upside down. The door fell of and nearly got my toes, but it lightened the safe up by at least 200 lbs. But what can you say I'm from Mississippi.
in case you ever need to move your safe again here is a tip. I was moving a few years back and had a comparable size and weight safe that needed to be moved as well as a full size pool table so I decided to hire professionals just for that. To move the safe out of the carpeted closet that it was in they poured about 2 dozen golf balls on the ground in front of it and they leaned it back to put some under the front of it. Once it was on the balls it rolled with the push of a finger.
Retrofit an old safe if you can find one with those ancient iron wheels. I have an old 1200lb bank safe on iron casters, an elephant can't budge that - the combo lock is an old work horse. It still has about 12 layers of paint on it too. Picked it up for $50 but I had to spend $500 to move it. Well worth it though.
looks like your almost at capacity....lol. I recently did an upgrade as well but i dont get mine delivered until february. I went with a 100 gun Pentagon. Congrats, I know I get giddy when I get a new safe just like when I bring home a new gun
Only one on hand? Man I used to carry at least two. One S&W air weight 38+P On the ankle and my 45 on the hip. To much? I never thought so. Any way nice safe. did you sell the others or get a trade in value at all? Just curios.
I have a great system that ensures no burglars will ever take prized valuables.
About 6 years ago I got married, this year we had a kid. Now I have nothing to steal! Yay!
Someone could still steal your wife and your kid though...
+IQ encodoc lmao
They just have to take over payments lol.
JFeezy They could steal your bills and payment books.....
JFeezy I did the same thing, lost most of the good stuff because she didn't need it. Still got robbed a few weeks ago. Now I have nothing to take. Lol
I got rid of my safe too, and I now store all of my guns in Rosie O'Donnell. Very roomy.
Lol that comment killed me. Thank you
juderocks5
When you went to get your 45,did you run into the guy looking for his Peterbilt truck keys.?
Puppy Bonz Probably not. Rosie wouldn't have anything 'Peter'built in her...
JC545X39 Won't that cause your guns to corrode? Not to mention the smell!
how can you find one in that whale
i prefer the john wick method of burying them in concrete in the basement.
Doesn't that make your guns kind of hard to get to if there buried in concrete?
If it is so bad why do you keep watching it again and again?
Just how much water do you think is in my water heater that it is going to raise the water level in my 500+ sqft garage high enough to reach guns in my gunsafe? Assuming my garage is water tight to begin with.
Oh I forgot to mention I can open those electronic locks with a large magnet, it moves the electronic solenoid.
IMPORTANT!! I am a civil engineer and could not help notice that there was apparently no seismic strap on your hot water heater. Put the cheap stuff in the safe and the expensive stuff in the refrigerator or closet.

@@garytodd5605 I'm? WHAT?! Ah well, another mystery ....
I didn't realize that was your kid, and the face he was giving you, with me thinking he was an employee...oh man I was crying laughing!
That is where I got mine. We live like 5 minutes from the new Costco in Vancouver.
Thanks, it is getting a bit full inside though. I am going to have to buy more racks.
I love it...and the $789 price tag was the best I had seen.

I will be installing a safe soon. Did you use an insulating barrier between the concrete floor and the safe bottom?
Would this be a good idea?
Beautifully organized and neat. I don't know about safes but do you need electricity for it to operate or open?
Did i see a stainless marlin 45-70 guide gun in there?
+Greg Taylor Yup
I like the shelf set up in the new safe, lots of options.

It is a Hogue Zombie grip for my S&W 500.
What is the model of this Winchester safe? Thanks for the great video

question about the anchoring bolts. Should you decide to move is it easy to remove?

Why would I overpay for a safe that can be defeated by the same criminal that would defeat this one?
I have a couple of locking cabinets on the wall and ammo cans on shelves.
Hey Bub, what are the top handgun slot-type holders that you are using the hold the polymer pistols called? I'd like to purchase a few sets of those for my gun-safe. Thanks for any help on locating them! Thanks, Pat in Idaho.

ah okay thanks ym, im in the market right now for a iwb and am looking into the crossbreeds and n82 tacticals
I think it is my RKBA holster. My N82 Tactical for my EDC is out on loan.
I forget the model number, but they are the ones you can buy at Home Depot for around $300.
Is extra space the only reason you upgraded? Or, did you also want more security/fire protection? I vaguely recall a video that you did about homeowners insurance.

What is that triangular attachment on your AR pistol on the bottom rail?
I have no idea what the model name is of this thing.
Question: If you put wedge bolts in the bottom and back, how will you move your safe ever again?
Since you have so many pistols, how do you store your magazines so they don't all get mixed up? I stack mine behind my guns but it looks like it's already a little crowded in there.
Why don't I spend $80 for a Gucci t-shirt? Because after a certain point you are getting almost nothing for the extra money.
frame in the safe to your walls. Door is most difficult to enter while side and especially bottom is easy to get into with a drill and sawsall.
What model is that safe? I've been eyeing Winchester safes, look very good to me. Thanks!

I am really liking this one so far.
They sold in under 5 minutes on our local forum. They paid for half of the new safe.
I am working on getting a safe installed this week. I have never drilled concrete for the purpose of bolting something to it. Do you have any suggestions that I should be aware of?
I got a letter from the state saying I had to integrate or lose funding.
What did you do with the old safes and where'd you get the setry safes?
Did I see a USP at 4:18 about 3 or 4 from the left on the way top?
not at the moment. I am at the horrible stage where nothing obtainable is on my wish list at the moment.
Will you expound, educate and/or give us a story on your hand grips, especially the yellow and green hand grips on the 2nd shelf from the top?
Thank you
Kurt Miller They are Hogue tamers. The yellow was a S&W exclusive and the green is from their Zombie line.
TheYankeeMarshal Thank you sir
You just bought an expensive metal turd.
I'm pretty sure those Winchesters are one of the worst safes you can buy.
Scott Spencer Yes and no. They certainly do a great job against your average individual or teenage thug trying to find money. He'll get into your house, pull on the door, punch it, and move on. Hell of a pistol collection. Good to see another also CC's even while walking around at home! ;)

What insurance company do you use for firearm coverage?
Revolver grips are looking handsome!!!
have you upgraded since this video??
These days, my local dealer wishes he had my collection on his shelf to sell.
you should get the SBA3 brace for your AR pistol
when are you doing your review on the scout?
Where did you purchase the safe? I have been looking around town, but the price is whats holding me back! I like the size of your safe! Which model Winchester safe is it?
I have already discovered that. I am thinking of buying a smaller safe for the few long guns I have.
Will you be putting any internal lighting in the safe?
yes, as long as the lower was received as a pistol or as "other."
Great vid. Did you get rid of your old safe or did you keep it. I only ask because it seems to me like you must have some rather expensive camera/computer equipment. Besides firearms, I am prone towards technology and security. I hope you have an external hard drive system that you save your data to and put them in a safe when you leave your house. whats the best way to store ammo
Did you see the Q-Line SafeGuard Shelving System?
That's an awesome safe, congrats on your purchase. I'm looking to get a new safe after the first of the year...granted I only have a couple handguns, so I won't be needing a small closet size safe like yours. :P Someday I hope.
You really need to seriously look into a heavy gauge safe. The metal thickness is nothing more than a pop can on that unit. Not really "Safe".
What are the pistol racks you have in that safe? And where did you get them from?
I got this one at Costco. The only bad thing is they do not deliver.
I got the same safe last year for Christma at Tractor Supply. Top quality, I highly recommend it.
How long did it take for you to collect all of those guns?
Yes, I am SOOOO worried about that.
I'm in the market for a safe myself. I don't have a very big collection so I'm tempted to get a somewhat smaller safe but then I worry about what I'll do if I have to expand.

what are you going to do with the other two safes?
I prefer a manual dial with a key override...but I am lazy in my old age and wanted digital. Just make sure to get one with a warranty on the lock.
Your dog is so cute! "I'm over here breathing heavily boss."
Where do you put all of your extra mags?
Where can I get that pistol gun rack that you have there in your safe? I think that's what I need...all my handguns are laying flat on its side...just taking up space
Just curious does that safe offer any fire protection?
Wow! That's one big ass...safe! Can I ask how much that set you back? Looks great.
Is that shotgun in the front a winchester sx2 tactical at 4:29?
I have the 24 gun version of that and it weighs 500 lbs. somehow with my helpful movers it ended upside down. I opened the door to get all the stuff out, not thinking about it being upside down. The door fell of and nearly got my toes, but it lightened the safe up by at least 200 lbs. But what can you say I'm from Mississippi.
Any problems with the safe so far?
I just wanted extra space and to not have to go through the hassle of working a rotary combo dial every time I open my safe.
No idea. I do know a trick involving ping pong balls, but it has nothing to do with moving a safe.
in case you ever need to move your safe again here is a tip. I was moving a few years back and had a comparable size and weight safe that needed to be moved as well as a full size pool table so I decided to hire professionals just for that.
