- Take a day trip with me from Athens, only a 2 hour drive to the beautiful Peloponnese region of Southern Greece, in the city of Nafplio. The drive itself was absolutely breathtaking, and the city is so full of history, beautiful Venetian architecture, and incredible local foods. Well worth your visit if you're visiting Athens and have an extra day or two, or more!

Mastihodentra / Mastic trees are cultivated on the island of Chios, so that's where all the mastic is produced in Greece. I loved your Cretan food tour!

Where did you see the venetian architecture?
Nafplio was ruled by the Venetians for about 200 years, so the influence in architecture is apparent everywhere throughout the old town, and prominent in specific building like the castle of Palmidi. The colorful venetian buildings throughout the town are wonderful to see, too!
@@whatomorrowbrings Sorry to dissapont you, none of this houses are of Venetian architecture. It's called Greek Revival architecture and its from the 1800s
@aokiaoki4238 you must be referring to Mycenean revival architecture of the 1800s. Yes there are examples of that too, such as the National Bank!
