I went to Peskesi for my birthday per your recommendation a few days ago. It was INCREDIBLE. Absolutely love the concept, the food was insanely delicious, and the vibes were perfection

Xinohondro means literally sour (Xino) and (hondro) which are the broken pieces of wheat which are left over from the crushed wheat, this is the protein married to milk or yoghurt which is then dried in the sun completely and stored. Was born in Crete and my mother made it every year. It is delicious, another taste dimension in vegetable soups or boiled by itself in stock then add some extra virgin olive oil and you have a most nutritious delicious meal. It is also known as trahana in Greece.

An American living on the costa del sol of Spain here! Thank you so much for such an enjoyable and informative food/beverage tour!!! Will be spending a week solely on Crete after a 12 day cruise of Greece and surrounding countries in May/June.
