Porsche in title, I watch 100% of the time.
Cheers
This is the automotive equivalent of hardcore pornography
When it is a Porsche in the title I am fast!
The peak of Porsche design. The big rear guards, those wheels and wing. Looks even purer than the 993 gt2, and that's so beautiful .
Old school Porsche, purposeful clean design. Yum!
"crisp packets" ... "giving it the beanage ..." -- As an American, I must say I absolutely love these Britishisms!
The lack of sound deadening really does give one the full auditory experience. The 993RSC sounds wonderful!
It doesnât help when trying to film thoughđđ
Maybe my all time favourite 911 besides the 993 GT2!
I remember telling my dad to buy one of these when it was 35000 pounds and he said it's a dog and won't amount to much as an investment đđđđ€Łđ
Oh dear đł
Damn... What country and year bro?
Absolute heaven. Car in itâs purist form
Eyes going over the screen + a nice preview picture (RS C + TheCarGuys) = instant click! Not disappointed!
Great video. Epic car. That is a car to have on the bucket list of cars to drive. Nicely done and you have driven one. This is a car that should be in the car guys garage.
We agree!
Beautiful! I was at the Geneva Motorshow when they showed the 993 GT2 with its screwed on fender flares and GIANT rear wing... It was stunning! This car resembled it a bit.
Thank you, Jason, great car. đ
Timeless design.
Superb vid .. just like the car .. back to basics with 'real' enthusiasm and love .. good job :)
100% on point. this is a wonderful end of era example of what Porsche ownerâs are so loyal.
nice solo Jason and a beautiful car
Nice choice Jason !
LOVE this car in this exact spec. Great video putting some lime light to this modern classic.
These old 964 and 993 RS are so much fun to drive. the naked panel on the inside has the unique effect that you fell like beeing in a sounding body. a tip to the driver: these cars with single mass flywheel and a sharp camshaft do not like rpm under 2000
Thatâs why the crisps are called Walkers. Run over a packet in this beauty and the return journey is on foot. How low can you go?
Awesome car. Very measured and sensible review. Would have like to look around it a bit more. But good to see Jason on a solo run.
Thank you for showing this beautiful and special 993.
love your guys videos!
Awesome classic Porsche. It reminded me that back in 1979 I got to drive a 1974 RSR. Hellishly scary and exhilarating too. At only 19yrs old then, âI was the kid in the lolly shopâ and had the same ear to ear grin you had Jason. Thanks for a great clip mate... Cheers
Cool that it brought back a great memory
Youâre very welcome. So pleased it brought back some good memories.
This car in can daily drive for life. No turbo no electric steering no BS. Just pure driveđđ
Daily might be a little hard going, but I get your point.
I understand completey why you are so exited about this fine specimen Jason, I was fortunate to own a 911 in the past... model 930 Turbo it was, 1982 but with the optional G50 gearbox. I loved it to bits, even when it broke down on me with a broken valve that basically ruined the whole cylinderbank on that side.... The repair would be so costly that after almost 2 years sitting in my garage with the engine out, i sold it to a man who had the knowledge, the time and above all, the money to get it back on the road again. Still, i had some fantastic trips to the Pyrenees, the Cote d'Azur, the Route Napoleon and even to Yorkshire and the Lake district in it during the 5 years i owned it. Great times! Cheers from rainy Holland!
Cheers!
I like this type of Vlog format; personal, intimate. There's no noise that shouldn't be there. Good job.
Beutiful car, thanks for sharing your day in it
What a car, amazing.
Love the 993 ,had a drive of a turbo s couple of years ago, it was good very good, good to see Jason going solo again, nice job chaps ...
Another factor of these older 911's is placement on the road. With the upright windshield and greater visibility the driver can really place the car. In the interest of safety and aerodynamics, this is something lost in newer vehicles.
What an epic car!
Please, please, please add this to your collection. That is just fantastic & deserves more exposure on your amazing channel â€ïž
Jason has nearly convinced me :)
Excellent car - excellent video !
Excellent video. The RS CS was one of the last samurais' swords.
Amazing car!
LOVE IT
Would of been nice to have seen a bit more of this Porsche
Good to see you back Jason. Thought you were dead...
Only for Tax purposesđ
Nice video Jason and spot-on, Love the Porsche content on your channel.
Thanks Stephen!
What a car! Great video as usual
The 993RS and RS Clubsport engines are 3.8 litres in size, not 3.6 or 3.7. The 964 RS was 3.6 litres...
3746 cc on 993 RS & CS.
@@Nord_Mann I owned 2, a 993RS and a 964RS, Neither made good road cars but the 993RS was substantially better on the road than the 964RS.
@@grahamtricker4103 Too harsh for the road?
That is the very epitome of a petrolheads car , and also a fine example of what modern cars have lost. It's visceral , it's exciting to look at , the sound alone is worth the asking price, hydraulic steering , no numb electric nonsense, no hybrid nonsense. You get in that and just know it's something very special , lucky man Jason !! đđđđ
đ
Wow! Jason, she is a true beauty
Loved this, well done Jason. Could I suggest some driver's POV type footage of special cars like this? Cheers!
Man that 993 is amazing, I think my favorite is either the extremely rare 993 GT 2 or the 993 turbo s. Keep the great Porsche content coming!!
Cheers! GT2 for us
A magnificent car & detailed review, cheers Jason. I wasn't that keen on Porsche until I started watching Car Guys as I was brainwashed by Ferrari's, now I adorelearning all about them & their significance....thankyou, you are great channelđ
Youâre welcome, Iâm glad we are helping to show all types of cars.
Great review right down to the echo comment at the end. You highlight important details that are so often overlooked. Bravo
Thanks Tom
Proper car đđ»
Spike's Car Radio would highly approve!!
Simply beautiful Porsche and well appreciated content
Thanks.
I gave you a thumbs up because this is an amazing car, but you seemed a bit sad without your partner and you didn't get all Chris Harris with the car as I would have liked. Can you do a part 2 please?
Perfect car, iâm huge fan of Porsche brand, from all 911 model 993 is my favorite.. RS C? A little to much hardcore for me, but still briliand! Good work guys!
A friend had a 993RS awesome vehicle, mine is just a 993C2 but what a lovely engaging car to drive. I have thought about swapping it for a later 911 but they are not as much fun to dive, albeit the later ones have lots more performance in every direction. It is definitely more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow, especially if there's a police car following you!!
More performance doesnât make a better drive, Iâd rather have this which you wring out than something quicker.
Don't laugh but I also have a MGA, with a 180 BHP Bee engine, that is really an old school drive, a real go-kart lol!! Thanks Car Guys
Beautiful
Hearing that motor sound reminds me of my old 1980 SC targa. I really miss that air cooled motor and all its sounds and idiosyncrasies. More fun to drive than any other I've had.
Such a cool, iconic Porker!! Looks like it was shot in Leigh/Eastwood in Essex.
Not quite Russell, quite a few miles away.
Great choice of an icon ride. More exterior footage please.
Great review
Thanks Phil
It was a 3.8 litre actually
That video was way too short. Still good though so thanks for sharing!
I want one so badly. Hell, I'd pay a lot just to drive one around the streets for 20 minutes, to say nothing of a racetrack.
Air cooled sounds amazing
Dam, thats sexy... Car is nice too đđ»
â3.7â... Fairly sure itâs a 3.8?!
All of the air-cooled "3.8L" Porsches were actually 3746cc so...almost.
Porsche Fan and Owner. Thumbs Up.
Cheers Joe
Well done Jason
Sadly the car was sold short in the video. Heard your voice more than the engine note of these sensational car. E.g the noticeably wicked visceral engine note with every incremental rise in the revs then the deep but fantastic hollow Aircooled sound thatâs like no other car ever from 4K rpm - 6.9k rpm, the whirring of the lightweight flywheel as can be clearly heard in the video or the feel of the engine and gearbox combo in the reaction of the car. Also the rigid feel of the car as it darts from corner to corner due to the stiffness with the cage leading to instant but athletic reaction from the car and the bullet proof interior or the incredibly tireless engine, the compact nature of the car or the way it fits like a glove and how you feel connected to the road. If I did not have one Iâd wonder what all the fuss was about cos this video did not really do these mind numbingly stunning car justice. Thanks all the same.
A good basic review, if there is a downside to these, drive one hard for 2 hours at a time, you are left both exhilarated and shattered! It can be tiresome on a motorway journey, getting to the track. These are better as a Lhd car, the driving position for the pedals is not offset as with Rhd, nor does the Rhd car allow fitment of the larger fuel tank fitted to the "true" CS variants. This looks like a nice example, Ashgood know their cars.
Interesting point Paul, the LHD offset hadnât occurred to me. I think a trailer to the track and a lift back would be best.đ
Like many others, my only 'complaint' was that the video should be longer.
Iâve driven that very car to Goodwood and back.....next time Iâm taking something else....still have a headache
@@revit4298 Exactly.. there are way better, much less rare track cars and there are way better cars for actually driving on the street. This car is cool because it's rare, but I don't see the point.
I really did wish 4min.24 lasted for the entire vid. That was the best section, it voices the 993 clearly deep, hollow, Aircooled race oriented engine note.
OMG Use đ balloons have done it now!! Use have knocked it out of the park!! Well done gentlemen well done! đŹđ§ đ đȘ đ€ đ
Got driven 10 laps around Gotland Ring once in a white 993 RS CS, it was insane. It also had straight cut gearbox which made a terrible noise! :)
Sweet 911. Wish I could have heard the engine rev out a few times. The harder you driven a 911 the better they drive.
This is very true, it was amazing revel out but the sound quality wasnât great so I left it out.
The RSCS was made for production car racing in Australia namely the Bathurst 12 hour race
Its aim was to beat Mazda and their RX7SP.
Unfortunately for Porsche it failed.
But the one saving grace is how much the car has appreciated in value.
BUY IT
I remember a friend having a non CS 993 RS, mint black 6k kms and purchased at cost of ÂŁ40k in the late 90's.....
Great looking car, will this be arriving into The Car Guys garage any time soon?
I donât think so but it is an amazing thing.
Do you live in Eastwood?! Good video Jason, Did you mention the price? I didn't catch it
No not Eastwood. ÂŁ225,000
Just saw a red one of these come up in my feeds for sale in Australia for $700,000AUD. Fantastic car but so unobtainable now. Approaching 1973 Carrera RS territory now
Absolutely loved this review. More of the same please. What about the F430 manual. The last of the rear engined v8 manual gearbox cars????
A Scud has been discussed a lot recently.
@@TheCarGuysTV OK thanks you 2. I'll check it out.
Hi from New Zealand, may I enquire the asking price as these are so rare also
Love your show and thanks for sharing
Brett Higgins Hi Brett, itâs on sale for ÂŁ225,000 GBP.
That car is ÂŁ225,000
There's currently a Guards red one for sale at Duttons in Melbourne. They have it listed for Aud $7000,000.
duttongarage.com/PORSCHE-CARRERA-RS-CS~56023
I think it's the possibly the only one in Australia.
Back in the Nineties my 993 Turbo S would push them Clubsports right off the track. Those Clubsports lacked power. They sure had a ventilation but no AC to save weight. Ride is harsh and noisy but they do look good! Todays GT2 RS are lightyears ahead đ
I have found quite the opposite, the CS' weight advantage is hugely apparent, the Turbo S is a much better cruiser. I went to buy a Turbo S, I was keen until I drove one, the lack of communication with the driver was deafening!
Wow! When porsches were proper purist Porsches! Did I see the mileage was over 100k km? Or was I mistaken? How much is it on sale for?
You are not mistaken. This one is ÂŁ225,000.
@@TheCarGuysTV amazing! Great video bud!
Jason talking to his wife: "Honey, we're all out again ... I'm heading to the store to get a gallon of milk and tin of crisps." (moments later: the sound of squealing rubber as Jason gives it the beans).
only one complaint to the vlog, too little b-roll of this magnificent 993 shape
Agreed!
when are you buying it :-)
is the club sport RS different to âregulaâ rs?
Yes, lots more weight loss and increase in engine size
As explained by Jason!
@@andysp8845 yes indeed! great review
@@TheCarGuysTV The engine is actually the same 3.8l on both cars. Both have 300bhp too. Great video though!
I get a kick out of these older bug-eyed cars although you look a little silly putting on those rocket belts. Save those for something like a Mclaren F1.
It is a racing car Bill, adds to the theatre of the drive
Can we make the brakes squeaks gone?
I love a stripped out car
We read every single comment, true that! âđ»
Yes it is
Where is Jeremiah (or whatever he's called sry don't have these names in Sweden), he would have loved this
He would, you are right. But he canât have all the fun.
@@TheCarGuysTV His name is Jeremiah though?
@@kimjong-un6994 Yes, it is.
@@julianevans9548 Ok thank you
Next time, please have a run through the gears, or some reasonable way for us to get a feel for the sound of the car as itâs accelerating, for more than a fraction of a second - please...
Racing driver again? Were you a racing driver?
I feel like a racing driver, often. Mostly while sitting on the sofa...
@@TheCarGuysTV :)
@@TheCarGuysTV Anyway great review and content as always.
Squeaky brakes? Must be a 911.....
đ
Funny how ease is to you Brits to put your hand on Japanese cars, wish we had strong enough coin and lower enough taxes to do the same.
I would put my hands in a Escort Cozy and a MK1 Focus RS without blink an eye.
