- Alex Pereira hitting bags from 2015 to 2023. A powerful puncher, Pereira pressures opponents from the outside, cutting off space in order to open up with hooks and uppercuts at short range. Although most known for his left hook, Pereira also works behind a strong left jab, switching easily from head to body. Since 2020, Pereira has trained at Teixeira MMA, working with former boxer Fernely Feliz, as well as striking coach Lee Alves. A two-division champion in GLORY kickboxing, Pereira entered the UFC's Middleweight division in 2021, securing a title shot with his KO victory of Sean Strickland a year later. Pereira, the former UFC Middleweight champion, is scheduled to fight Jiří Procházka at UFC 295 for the Light Heavyweight championship.

Someone experienced can explain me benefits of using vertical fist in straight punches like Alex?
Vertical fist punches are narrow and fit through different gaps. They also have an upward trajectory similar to uppercuts. They can be harder to see
@@Lorendrawn Thank you, i also heard that vertical fist is better for bare knuckle fighting. Less chance of injury
You can get better power from leverage off the ground and legs
By not turning his punches, they are not telegraphed. Hence they’ll be faster and way harder to block or slip. Ali did the same thing with his jab
This is the BEST way to punch
Poor bags
