Inspired by the origin of the word prosthesis, designer Dani Clode shifts the conversation about prosthetics to something a bit more ‘extra’ with her Third Thumb Project; exploring thumbs, body control and the future of neuroplasticity.

Dani Clode is a product designer from New Zealand and received her MA from the Royal College of Art in London. By collaborating with the Alternative Limb Project and neuroscientists from the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London, Dani works to challenge the perception and boundaries of prosthetic design, incorporating new materials and design processes to augment and extend the human form.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. This is amazing to know our brains are so accepting and adaptable. Even knowing this new information, changes my concept, my understanding of what I know and can accomplish. Always in our scientific venture, we must at all costs, obey all ethical limits and instill human empathy, compassion and value of the sacred sanctity of human life into our 'intelligent' robotics.
Finally, I was hoping to hear news from her again. And it is on TED!

Is there any way to buy this because i think this would fit my situation. I lost my fingers and thumb but still have the bottom half of my palm.Two of these facing each other would give me at least something to hold with.
