Do these bring back memories? This was such a blast to play all of these amazing Minecraft Music with Cool Instruments! What was your favorite instrument and piece? Hope you enjoy these amazing pieces of music by C418 - Hudba
I love it how it can be a good while of silence when playing, but then the music starts out of nowhere and it manages to feel like the most serene and emotional tune you've heard.
I think it sparsity of the music enhances the emotion of them. Back when you'd get drawn in to hours of playing and a song randomly starts playing and you snap into reality for a few moments. Can't be matched. Far Away by Jose Gonzalez gives a similar feeling in a way that I can't think of any other games have matched.
@@heyitsmeshane No Man's Sky is a similarly procedurally generated sandbox game with procedurally-generated atrmospheric music that gives the same feel after hours of play.

When I was a pre-K teacher, I would often play all minecraft music on a loop in the class (minus the nether music for obvious reasons) and the entire atmosphere of the classroom would be much calmer than the other classrooms. Naptime was also easier. I cant stand the classic lullabies and it gets really old, and the kids never really responded to it, but C418's minecraft music worked magic. Nostalgia 😥😥
In my eyes, or more like ears, most of minecraft’s songs are only the happy type of nostalgic because we associate good times with the music. I think they portray a clear tune of loneliness. In some it’s a peaceful kind while in others it’s sad and, well, lonely. Minecraft is just as much a masterpiece of a game as a musical concert
It makes sense. Minecraft started out as a single player game, and I guess C418 wanted to capture that feeling. The feeling of having a the world at your fingertips but no one to share it with.
More "peaceful solitude", to me.
I like the music a lot, it sounds very nice to me regardless of the game. I did not play Minecraft for long enough to build any nostalgia.
Also the music has never reminded me of loneliness, though I can understand what people mean when they say it sounds lonely to them.
Subwoofer lullaby sounds like a good example of a tune of loneliness because just by the sound of the song, if you heard it without knowing what Minecraft is you would probably think it sounds like a soft game over theme
I really like minecraft music, it gives you something to listen to as you play. Although I do get bored of it after a while.

Aria Math: I'm building a house in one of my first minecraft world. Me and my dad would take turns building it. We added 2 floors and a ledge to keep spiders away.
Title Theme: Playing minecraft peacefully. I wasn't really sure how to play, I just wandered around, making friends with chickens and sheep.
Sweden: I sort of knew how to play. I loved building houses in creative mode, and I had just discovered you could fly, playing in a spaceship world.
Subwoofer Lullaby: This one brings tears to my eyes. I had just gotten a nintendo switch, I had been playing on Xbox One. I played spleef and elytra races in multiplayer, and tried out the halloween world. There's way more nostalgic details, but I can't write it all.
Haggstromm: I loved playing the tutorial world made by minecraft. This was the one of the first things I did, It taught me how to mine blocks, how to build a shelter, How to cook with a furnace, how to craft. I learned how to fly with an elytra, how to shoot fireworks, and so much stuff.
Wet Hands: I was pretty good at this point. I had a pet dog named fluffy, and I made him a garden. Stampy and DanTDM were the first youtube creators I had ever watched, and they formed most of my childhood, and introduced me to minecraft. I made many worlds in dedication to them because I loved their videos so much. I even had a minecraft cake for my birthday when I turned seven, and sent it to stampy, hoping I would get added to his love garden, but I never did. They are still idols in my life to this day.
There's so much nostalgia that walks with me to this day of playing minecraft, not even knowing those were the good old days.
Why does this make me lose my breath and feel immense and crippling sadness/nostalgia

It's always nice to see acoustic instruments replace synthetic/programmed sounds. A lot of "musicians" have no idea what awesome music a well-developed percussion set is capable of.
I'd really like to hear a full-fledged cover of Minecraft's music with a creative use of real instruments. That could make an awesome resource pack!
I love showing real instruments and not just electric sounds! I have a few full covers of different Minecraft songs now, Sweden, Wet Hands and Pigstep. Have a great day!
@@JoePorterPercussion Oooo. I'll have to look at those. Thanks!
Minecraft's soundtrack does use real instruments for a lot of it's songs (including some used here like the hand pan thingy), but also the synthetic sounds of minecraft's songs are also really iconic and give the songs that vibe of nostalgia.
These are the sounds of our childhood. Hearing these makes me sad about the memories I once had with friends I no longer have, the all nighters I would pull on split screen, in a dark room. It’s sad that these memories no longer live in reality but whenever I hear one of these songs I immediately close my eyes and tilt my head backwards. It was truly simpler back then. There was always something so special about Xbox 360 Minecraft thats slowly been slipping away from 'Bedrock', but is still in Java for some reason to me.
It brought me back to when I was younger watching stampy play let’s plays
Cause Microsoft has financial interest in monetization exclusively.
Notch made it for the game, not for the extreme monetization.
that is because Java edition is still being managed by the original Mojang studio, by mostly original employees, but bedrock edition is handled by a newer Seattle studio, which I think is more directly controlled by Microsoft, and Microsoft doesn't give a single shit about making the game good, and instead just wants money, so they are ruining bedrock edition, but less so java edition

I only started playing Minecraft a few years ago, but I still find myself sadly nostalgic for those earlier years of playing. So much has changed in just a few years... My attempts to relive those times through Minecraft are always somewhat futile though. Just teaches you to live in the moment, enjoy what you have, and perhaps put the devices away for longer in order to truly enjoy life then. I do enjoy Minecraft, but it's a love hate relationship. It, and technology in general, has become something I use to repress and distract. I write this knowing I should follow my own advice, but also knowing it's addictive hold. I don't mean to be a downer, I think it's fine to take a break and have fun, but for me it's taken over and it's something I need to get control of before more of my life and loved ones pass me by. So, yes, enjoy the music and the game and the memories, but don't forget to move forward and make new, important memories too, especially with those you love.
Idk about other devices, but on xbox 1 there is two versions of minecraft. You can get the xbox 360 version of it (where they havent added updates for a while now) and bedrock addition. It's nice to sometimes go on the 360 version and remember how much simpler it was and play with the random people you met in minigames (that some people still play).

All of them except Aria Math. It's one of my favorite ones, but the first time I heard it I hated it
@@WatercraftGamesi agree, it just doesnt fit the cozy minecraft feel, its some sort of repetitive geometry dash music😂
@@Frik_nob-gk3de I love it - probably was one of the more nostalgic ones for me
@@WatercraftGames prob cuz you didn't fully hear it during your first listen same thing happened to me
Also hot take but new Minecraft songs will never be good in my heart
Haggstorm on Kalimba always give me the "Nostalgia Goosebump". Really loving the videos Mr Porter and thank you so much for making it :)
😀
Same. I love all the Minecraft songs but Haggstorm really makes me remember when I used to play survival mode with my brother
Bro woke up and chose nostalgia 😢
this gives me memories of those old days where you just play minecraft 12 hours during the weekends while its raining and your nice and cozy on your old PC that can barely run minecraft, but you still play, because its that fun.
you know, it is kinda cool how these *percussion* instruments are able to play the songs so spot on, considering C418 (the person who makes most of the minecraft music) used little, to no percussion at all in their songs
Well a lot of these instruments were the ones used to make the songs in the first place
Very strange take. These are tonal instruments, and the Minecraft score is tonal music. Not to mention that pretty much all of these instruments are very similar in sound to the electronic samples likely used in C4’s work.
I think the hand pans were actually used in aura math
@@maxiapalucci2511 Seems more a take made from a misunderstanding
What is this claim based on lmao? At least 2 of the instruments in the videos are literally what was used in the original
Ok but-
If this guy did full on covers of these songs like this-
I'd be happy beyond words-
Me too-
Especially subwoofer lullaby-
Just listen to the normal ones? They sound the same lol
@@jessicalipscombe9117 but we want to watch him play the whole song. Plus the originals are edited and I want to hear the less polished versions.
For all those who think the magic of Minecraft is gone, all you need is someone to play with. Get out there ask around see who is willing to play, have a beautiful day.
And remember, your nobody until somebody loves you, and that somebody is me. I love you.
Really Nice Job! This made me realise, the writer of this music must have specifically chosen very Tactile Timbres and Textures to ground and immerse the player in a more visceral experience of that world, to give it a deep feeling quality, balancing the plunky earthliness with the resonant otherworldliness... I wonder if that's one reason the music had such a powerful ability to entrain the player's mind and heart with the womb like quality of that world, bringing them straight back to that state of being when they hear it years later... very interesting! Thankyou
I hope no one minds me making timecodes.

Thank you for making this one a bit longer than the others, I really appreciate it, and I bet so many others did since a lot of us were asking for minecraft music all the time you performed one in a video
Cheers!
Handpan is one of the best instrument for chilling
1:03 has brought my childhood memories back😢
As a Pianist, I love watching videos like this and trying to piece together how the piano theory has been shaped and changed to fit each instrument. The marimba is built similar to a piano with its keys, the hand pans have all the notes but they are in different places, and the kalimba notes go back and forth in a ending/descending order. Fascinating!!
1:57 sounds like the real
Your attempt at "Sweden" made me tear up. It gave me the biggest wave of nostalgia I've heard in a while...
I remember playing songs would just pop up and it would always feel like they come up at specific times.
Minecraft would start randomly in the game.
Sweden would always start in a clear field or high mountains.
Subwoofer lullaby would start at sun rising. Sometimes before or after rain.
Haggstron would start during the rain or thunder storm.
Wet hands would always start sun set.
Every time i see that Joe has created another video, my day immediately gets 10x better
Same
❤️
Same, I always try my best to never miss a normal video because they never disappoint, shorts are good too, but they just never pop up in my notifications.
Aint that the truth
Who's Joe
There's something so peaceful about listening to Minecraft's relaxing music while seeing the actual instruments.
Dude, you almost made me cry. I remembered all the times I used to play with my brother on the playstation tutorial world in the demo version and have sooooo much fun. One day we discovered the 1.12 tutorial world in ruins underwater in the newer one and we were SOOOOO mindblown. That made our entire MONTH dude. Im still only 14 and that was like 5 years ago but it was SUCH a good time. Thank you so much for this man.
I used to be afraid of the music idk why it just gave me chills but now it's calming and only gives me nostalgia
