Great point politics definitely play a part in this, that's one thing he wrong about. Politicians are some of the biggest gangsters, they profit off the crime, just like government profit off war. More people locked up, more money flowing through the legal system too, pay police, judges, attorneys etc.

Wonderful video. There are only a bit more than 3million people in Jamaica. The poverty and amount of organized crime is very high. Wages are extremely low, and the JAdollar is worth very little in the global economy. And yes, certain politicians have vested stakes in crime. Its very complex, and unfortunately, at this time, no one, or group has been able to create a way to ensure more positive and peaceful communities. The band aid response is usually to send in the army...and guess what, they have bigger guns. Meanwhile, people go to sleep, night after night, hoping to not loose any loved ones to violence, or that they will themselves, survive to the morning.
