    Stress builds up over time, which is common for people who work a ton. People can overwork themselves without destressing, or reducing the amount of stress that builds up over time. This stress can start to affect their health, both physical and mental.
    In this video, Dr. K talks with LS about patterns of stress and how to destress with a meditation.

      That's one thing I've noticed Dr. K does very well that I don't see elsewhere: he bounces off his clients and really tries to immerse with what they deal with. Even if the concepts are useless for the process & instead he is looking for the context behind it, Dr. K acknowledges LS's wishes to educate his audience & becomes a viewer himself while also reading between the lines.

      110 work week? must've had a set up like the WoW episodes in South Park, "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM" bring the shit bucket and hot pockets. actual math works out to having 8 hours and 17 minutes of "free time" not dedicated to working, which doesn't account for bodily functions like eating, sleeping, bathing, etc. and yes that's 7 days a week. only 168 hours in a week.. waste of your life. hell, even 50-60 hours is awful when you think about it because you are literally dedicating a third of all your time to work, which you may hate or just tolerate.

    The most powerful thing I took from this interview with LS is ''You want to be on the same team as them'' LS wants the BEST for the GAME! He wants people to PLAY at their BEST. To IMPROVE. It's hard for people like LS... I think his best bet to make people understand is to get people together and agree on a way to see the game. I see him refer to the ''colours'' form MTG and I think if more people, casters, players, coaches, etc would get on board with this type of understanding of the game it would be beneficial to everybody and ELEVATE the game.

    • @Execratos
      @Execratos Před 4 lety +5

      Yes but he is too personally invested in wanting everybody to play their best. It becomes his loss when in reality, the person learning may have different objectives in mind than learning the absolutely best way to play the game. Some people play for fun, and sometimes fun also means not being overly serious. You can't read minds, so pushing your opinions on different shapes and sizes cutouts is just not going to work. Some people are not there yet.

  • @Itzpapa
    @Itzpapa Před 4 lety +6

    I must admit, i have a very ambivalent feeling about this type of content. But i do believe the "bads" i have with it is highly outweighed by the good. But where to start.
    What i appreciate about this show, is that it shows something i believe is one of the essential strengths of people: Being vulnerable. The strength and courage you need to be able to show vulnerability is sometimes forgotten and overlooked. To be able to show it in a setting like this, is both highly respectable and inspiring.
    As i work in the "field" of mental health, or rather, im studying pedagogy, i can say that i really like your approach Dr. K. I do not know if all i what i "saw" was intentional. Your questionaire and patience to let LS try to figure out the things for himself, and also, to express himself, which means to listen to himself, is really really good and strong. What also hit me, the ending, where it was alot more "light" on the touch, wether intentional, but seemed to have a good effect. (especially the Starcraft Terrran Theme Story seemed good).
    When it comes to LS, i got a high amount of respect for him, especially after having him seen in such a setting. I really like this part that was shown here, where he gets the time to be calm and able to think, and actually having questions asked, which helps him explain and express himself, rather then what i from time to time see on his own stream. I love his analysis, his metaphors and is comparisons of LoL to Card games. He has the qualities of what could become a great mentor or a good teacher (yes, i know he is a coach, but he is doing a really good job, even without formal didactive theory, which is quite impressive.)
    But where i do have a few kinks, is having these kinda sessions in public, It might be because i myself would be scared to do it, but i also think there is ethical dilemmas which are being poked.
    And i think i overused and overstayed my welcome with the wall of text.
    p.s. the moment where you reached for him to say "emptying the trash can" was really really good. Great patience shown, and also, shows that a person in stress has a hard time "seeing" what is right in front of them.

    At 01:06:00 what you are describing is something Ive gone through - and it was all stress related. Working long hours and finally taking on something I actually found "hard" and had to focus alot on finally crashing me - and just like you described I "did my stream" and then i slept for a long time. This is your body saying "you cant do this anymore, if you dont stop - I will make it stop". Classic "hitting the wall" moment. Ive hit the wall many times before one year I finally wouldnt get up again from bed and had a panic attack thinking my career and everything was over. All I had worked for. It wasnt btw, turned out alot of people close to me had gone through same. After this time It didnt get much better, I still worked alot - but I would try not to punish myself for feeling like this. And even though it has all worked well for my work life/ "making a career" - it isnt worth it. I would rather go back to my old self and say "Take it easy, you can achive good stuff by just doing enough too". What I also learned that life isnt fair, just because you work hard doesnt mean you will reach the best success. There will be others just slipping in there and "Making it" by being at the right place at the right time - or knowing someone or whatever... focus on getting balance in your life, a healthy life and goals. Have fun, and if you dont have fun - DO SOMETHING ELSE. Try it and then evaluate. You will get it wrong, but sticking with it - punshing yourself... dont do it. OK.. Now I am going to finish the video, sorry If I said something wrong here ;)

      @@TheMindoftw Capitalism is not the issue I agree, as someone from Sweden I understand that what is needed is a high level of socialization while still maintaining a capitalist structure to the economy. It is about more than just the economic structure, it is about peoples attitudes to life and what it means to live it. Americans and many other countries seem to think that you live so that you can work, a more healthy approach is work to live, work as little as possible so you can live as much as possible.
      The idea that money is the most important thing and that your life is a failure if you don´t make a lot of money is also a huge problem. We have people in this world that struggle to put food on the table daily and that are extremely poor and yet many of these people are actually much happier than people in the west where life is a constant stress, everything is about money, everybody is on their phone all the time creating a false image of happiness on instagram.
      Capitalism as it currently functions and the attitude and mentality it creates is a gigantic problem, capitalism in itself is not a problem.

    When I choose something to watch and I see a film proposition of your video I read what it is about, almost always I think. If it's some mash ups from your latest streams i usually ckeck it out. I like your casting work, I like your match breakdowns I find your patch breakdowns helpful and entertaining so thumbs up on all of those. When I stumble upon rage videos of you I dont enjoy watching them anymore. When I did it was provoked by curiosity I feel - 'What made him so furious? This has to be very stupid'. It makes it a little bit funny that there are some things that can get you this fired up and its entertaining but I dont think that I like seeing you like that, so I dont watch them.
    I think you are a very intelligent, knowledgable and quick on your feet (there are rap- eddited montages of your casting to prove that [good shit]) with a strong temper and will to speak up openly. I guess this might seem a bit arrogant at times but if someone is a passionate expert of something (you and League) you will react very passionately and at times be arogant about it but to me it isnt neggative.
    I dont really know much more about you personally, I got to know some unverified information (your upbringing, hardships) but I dont think I need to know more and frankly Im tottaly fine with not doing that. To keep watching I think I need you to be a passionate, intelligent, funny/weird online personality that I know from most of your videos. I dont find your "arrogance" a problem, I see it more as frustration than arrogance. It adds a nice flavour to it and makes it more captivating to watch. I just dont like to much of it and it being neggative because I dont think that listening to negative things is a good idea, unless therapeutically. So I will avoid that on your channel. Overall i think you are doing a great job and I will continue to watch you.
    I think I represent the part of viewers who are very passive and I wouldnt normally comment but I got High and thought that you might benefit from me telling you this somehow. I odnt really see a downside to doing this since I tried to convey my honest opinnion without any motive other than you knowing whats the truth in my case (or what i think it is) regarding you and your work.
    So no negative intent, just speaking what i believe. I hope that was intelligible due to Ace High and Englando Tongue Secundo (I'm Polish [And i'm Gold IV EUNE xD[I just like to press R on Darius]]) Godspeed!

    I think a really cool way for LS to understand this side of life would ironically be through metaphors of league and itemization.
    Opinion piece:
    His champ is resilient, conquering, but has debuffs after outputting so much energy, with really good micro play. Buys too many pots to deal with vulnerabilities, items are powerful and help the best of his kit but isnt compensating for the debuff in the kit so that part of the champ is amplified since. Its like the damage ratios in the kit dont scale as well but generally the still offer benefits.
    Id love to see LS ponder on this and talk live about it and reason through each champ and item that he would see fit.

      When he flat out said he was having trouble figuring out what to say, I counted that as stumped. Maybe not for long, and taking time to think is absolutely part of his usual strategy, but the pauses were a bit different this time, and needing to take actual notes and think about how to present it was unusual.
      None of this is bad/negative, mind you; if anything, it helps make appreciating his work easier to show how even he has difficulty sometimes.
