I prefer not to, when that happens I just leave the conversation on seen and call the police to check on them. Reason: a relative of mine had her ex actually commiting su1c1d3 when she threatened to, and a similar answer to the one you suggested was given. Next thing we know he's being sued for "coerced su1c1d3". He got off the hook but with a permanent mark on his record that, to this day, no one overlooks when he tries to apply for a job.

On the guy that missed his alarm and got angry. Nah, they are a jerk, but so is he for retaliating. Some people have much harder times waking up at certain times. I myself can't actually mentally wake up until around 10 am even if I have been up since 7:30 for my job. As a partner, you should be willing to help them out, them being grown isn't an excuse. I don't sit on my computer or doing my hobbies on my days off and not help my GF get up for work if I'm awake. I don't want her to lose her job just as she doesn't want me to lose mine, and sometimes it's just hard for people to get up and expecting a little help from time to time in a RELATIONSHIP shouldn't be frowned upon and you shouldn't just tell the person. "Not my problem." Because it honestly shows that you don't care about them as a person.
The other problem with people that are going to label him as a jerk because he is "grown" doesn't even know his work life, maybe he has to work 12 hour shifts, maybe he does overtime a lot to provide all the food and half the bills like the OP says. Doing overtime makes someone very mentally and physically checked out and it isn't fair to judge based on a single person's side of the story.

For the one on the girlfriend not waking the boyfriend and he was late. Yes he should get up on his own and his reaction was immature but if there is a regular occurrence of her waking him and she didn't tell him outright to get up on his own then he will probably assume that if she's awake and not saying anything then there is still time.

My solution, throw out the alarm clocks that he's been getting for himself assuming they aren't an app on his phone, or make it so there's a more active task to even just hit the snooze button, let alone dismiss the alarms. I've heard that there are alarm clocks that will launch a helicopter-type toy when it goes off, and it won't shut off until you find and manage to reattach that toy. Another has an infrared laser pistol like the ones wired into the lightgun cabinets, and the only way to get the alarm to turn off is to shoot a paired target to the pistol. Either way, these demand an active task that will help wake the sleeper up and pretty much force them to wake up more than just the alarm going off.

Just as a heads up, for anyone concerned; swinging relationships *can* work, but only with three things: consent, communication, and transparency. Also, it’s not a thing you can use to mend a relationship, it is not a tool that allows you a cheating pass. It’s not like getting into a different relationship; it’s being in the same relationship, but now there’s new sources of potential enjoyment, but also new sources of potential mistrust and contempt, if not done well. Basically, it’s not an excuse to cheat, and if someone is thinking that when going into a swinging relationship or a polyamorous relationship (not the same thing, obvs) or an open marriage, then that style of relationship isn’t going to work. It’s not permission to cheat; it’s consensual exploration, with both parties getting something out of it, rather than one person being left in the cold and unhappy while the other’s out having fun and not communicating why they’re unhappy in their initial relationship.
And yeah, it sucks that women are more likely to win on the legal side (false allegations, more likely to win out in custody hearings, the like) , but it also sucks that men are more likely to win on the social side, unless there’s conjecture (for example, men getting the ok to cheat for the longest time, “boys will be boys” style). There isn’t equity for either party, it’s why gender equity is so important. Not saying this to say “OP did something wrong, obviously, they’re both to blame”, no, this doesn’t apply to Story 1. I only bring this up because while times are changing, times are also staying the same in certain aspects, and if we don’t spot them, then progress will never happen.

Blaming your partner for you deliberately sleeping through your alarms is wild to me. And I hate getting up in the morning, but I only need to set one alarm, it’s generally across the room from me so I have to stand up to turn it off. As a result once I’m awake, I’m awake for a minimum of 17 hours before I get tired again, it’s incredible what a full 8 hours gets you. Ever since I was a kid, I can’t go back to sleep quickly and I’m a light sleeper to boot. I had a SO for a few years who habitually snoozed all of her alarms, and there were several. I’d try to wake her and she’d get angry at me for it. And when she would inevitably oversleep and be late for work, guess what, she’d get angry at me for not waking her. As if I hadn’t tried, she wouldn’t even wake up for our daughter when her crib was in our bedroom. Those first few years were rough, and from my understanding, according to her soon to be ex husband. That hasn’t changed.

That last story . . . Yeah, she meant what she said. She was speaking her mind freely, unrestrained. That was her truth of the situation.
Now, the boyfriend could help cover some of her costs, only if he has the financial means to afford it and not take away from the other bills/utilities. Also, I'd like to know what her job is that has her mentally drained. Is it Medical, or maybe a Tech Firm?
The thing this girl needs to do is grow up, and fast. She's living with her boyfriend. They split the responsibilities. She still acts like a kid, expecting the adults to fix her own mistakes. With how things look, she is not emotionally stable for a serious live-in relationship.
Advice for the dude: If you still love/have feelings for her, you need to reevaluate the relationship and set down some rules if the relationship is going to survive. Let her know that and have her sign a written agreement stating that she acknowledges the new parameters of the relationship and agrees to adhere to the rules as stated. In other words, GET YOURSELF A ROOMMATE / RELATIONSHIP AGREEMENT.

Hitting the snooze, or having several alarms: if you’re sleeping next to someone it’s awful. They don’t deserve to be woken up several times because of your lack of discipline. What she should have done was make him get up at his first alarm every time. Not gonna get up at 7? Set the alarm for 7:15. Not getting up till 7:30? Set the damn alarm for 7:30 and get up. If you sleep alone and you have multiple alarms you still have to have the self discipline to get up to one of them and not expect someone else will accept responsibility for YOUR choices.

I just think that habitual snoozers and multiple alarms need to switch it up and practice self discipline at least sometimes. Doesn’t have to be a strict change but let’s not be big babies and say it’s not possible to do things differently now and then. You learn you are capable when you try. This I say from experience with myself.

I never understood the need to change your name when you marry, like erasing your own family.
It's not like we are in the past when you were welcomed in a family in order to keep the bloodline, when the women's only role was to have kids, like royalty.
I'm glad I come from a country where, not only you keep your surname, but you use both of them (we have a mother, you know? Even you can legaly use your mother's surname first if you want)

Only thing that was kinda annoying is how the wife seemed utterly discusted and insulted to be regarded as her husband's name. Story 3: I won't lie, when I heard "Latin America" and "elegant animal" my very first thought was Capybara. I seriously don't know why considering their habitat is South America.
Story 4: I kinda went through a similar experience with my brother because he has trouble getting up too. One day, he didn't get up till just about the time he usually leaves and only because I told him. Next thing you know he's pitching a fit saying "why didn't you wake me?" and all that. I told him straight up, it isn't my responsibility and I've just tried being helpful and soon enough I won't be able to because my work shift is changing. And I wasn't gonna call him from work just to make sure his ass got up when that's his responsibility. I set like 3-4 alarms everyday I work to make sure I get up because I can have trouble and if I think I may need help waking up for something, I say so. Otherwise, take full responsibility onto myself.

3rd Story: If Op's bf keeps saying to her, "Why don't you wake me up?! You're already awake so you should wake me up!" this is where Op should do malicious compliance.
Option 1.) First alarm goes off, have bf hit the snooze. Once he hits the snooze & goes back to sleep take his alarm & put it far enough where he has to get up & turn it off, but close enough to where he can still hear it. You technically woke him up by making him walk to his own alarm & since he's up, he might as well get ready for work.
Option 2.) Slap him. He wants you to wake him up, wake him up with the most painful slap you can muster. If he's going to complain about you waking him up, make it his first & last complaint about it.
    Option 3.) Air horn.
