The therapist should have gotten the full story from the other people involved not just believing the single individual person she's been talking too. if she simply requested a talk with the other's involved instead of hearing only one side and not the other's it would have turned out better. she could have easily found out her patient was lying to her face
The therapist needs to be reported and Mia is a psychopath. OP needs to disinherit and disown her.
I've heard Story One before but not the latest update (where we get the info regarding what happened during & aftee the arrest) and I'm so glad OP finally realises that she needs to get Lia away from Maya and that Lia needs somewhere safe and away from this so she can begin recovery.

Story 1: I'm sorry to say this, but Maya sounds like a sociopath. She feels NO remorse over her part in what happened to her sister. She even called it an "accident"! SA is NOT an "accident"! And she "upset" she lost her "friend"!? You know, her friend the R*PIST!! I think something has gone seriously wrong with Maya.
I'm highly convinced that those disgusting influences she calls friends ruined Maya's moral compass forever. Excuse me, I was 17 and molested for two months. I still dissociate at 31. Took me a long time for me to accept therapy and for it to work. Bipolar 2 and ptsd. He was never arrested and is still free, I can mostly live with it now.

I remember story 1, oh boy did it make my blood boil. It was totally a set up by Maya I feel. I suspect she set her sister up. Just that she "only" planned for it to be her friend, and not him bringing his friends as well. As she tried to get them together earlier during the party and then completely left the party, leaving them alone.

It sounds more like Maya is doubling down on herself because she can tell her mom blames her and hates her. Absolutely she messed up, but to see all the love your parent has for you go away can definitely lend to resentful and selfish behavior.

Story 1..yes I feel Maya was wrong in this..I also feel that Maya has been a victim (maybe not in THIS instance but previously) and I feel that she didn't tell her mom about it and she may be showing JEALOUSY over her mom's treatment of Lia (maybe she thought her mom would blame her for her own attack or we never know WHO attacked her) and now she's acting out. Not mitigating her behavior but I feel something needs to be explored (which would also explain the therapist's behavior too if she knows or suspects but hasn't told mom)
