A footprint on the forever...
This is a love letter about the Toronto Maple Leafs.
From the team to their fans. And from the fans to their team.
For any player who has ever put on the sweater, and for those who will down the road.
And especially to the fans, whose undying love and hope endures.
The soundtrack is one of my favourite songs of all time. The song is called "Peace and Quiet" by Ron Hawkins & The Do Good Assassins. Ron is one of Canada's finest songwriters, a true national treasure. This track is from his album 'Garden Songs' which was released in 2014. The lyrics are below.

seeing tavares in his maple leafs blankets to scoring the ot goal to advance to round 2 brought tears to my eyes. there's nothing i would love more than to see him lift the cup for his childhood team as the captain, breaking this generational curse.
That ending portion brought a tear to my eye. Go leafs go.

Oh man, that walk from College Station to Maple Leaf Gardens I can still smell the peanuts and other things out in front of the Gardens off the carts that used to be there great memories of my Dad and me going to a Leafs game on a Saturday with tickets we got from a friend of his from work they may only have been greens but to me it the best seat in the house. Walking around the Gardens during the intermissions and looking at the old pictures Maple Leaf Gardens holds so many memories for me from my childhood
The last time the Leafs won the cup I was 10 years old. Im 67 years old now and this video brings me to tears every time I watch it. So many lost years, always hoping this is the year. Go Leafs Go!!

Thanks so much for updating this video, Tim. It has always been my favorite - the clips you chose, the song choice, the voiceovers, are just perfection. I love the newest additions as well. It has always made me weepy, until this time; because when I saw the clip of Salming’s last appearance at a Leafs game, I flat out bawled. Nicely done.
