Been a leafs fan since birth in ‘97. I legitimately cried on my balcony after this win tonight. I know it’s one round. But it is SO much more than that.
I remember back in 67 I actually fell off a balcony when they won it
I am on board since 99... I am from Germany... Have to stay awake till 5 am to watch em live... I cried last night/mourning as well... I dont care, it was brutal to us fans and they knew it!!!

I’ll never forget the anger I had after the Boston game 7 collapse. I just silently walked past all my roommates got in my car and drove, got to the first stop light and just screamed until my voice was raw. It’s been so long, but man the happiness tonight was unreal.
I was jumping In the living room with my brother when Kadri got that 4th goal up 4-1 just to be throwing stuff around after! We needed this. Go Leafs Go!
I can accept the losses to Boston or to Wasington, even the last year against the Lightning where they played their hearts out and the Lightning just barely edged them out, it happens.. What I couldn't accept was the Loss to the Habs. They looked like garbage against a garbage team. They could have skated circles around the Habs, ragged the puck for 60 minutes straight and the Habs would have been helpless. I genuinely considered not bothering to watch the season after that. Coruse I did, but it wasn't until after last years series against the lightning where any real faith was restored in the team.

I am a big leafs fan, and I still don’t know how to react. I watched every game with my dad sitting next to me, and this one time, he’s away. I still have goosebumps seeing this. Tavares is a hockey legend! He ended the islanders 23 year drought, and now the leafs 19 year drought. This has honestly been one of the craziest series I have ever seen. Lets hope for round 3!!
This might be the first time I've taken an interest in hockey. I'm from rural Texas, never played hockey in my life, but I'm glad I tuned in finally. Seeing the effect it's had on fans and the team... this is what sports are all about. All those years of hurt and disappointment, paying off with this sweet, glorious moment. Go ahead and win it all Leafs! Can't wait to follow along this year and learn more about this sport ❤
Every Leafs fan needs to watch this video! I've been a fan for 32 years. I don't ever miss a Leaf playoff game so I've seen every clip from this video live as it happened. There's been a lot of heartaches, especially the last 7 years. I waited 19 years for them to win a series and they finally did it! I went nuts when they scored the series clinching goal, as I'm sure every Leaf fan did. Go Leafs Gooo!!!
I reacted how I normally react to Leafs goals, but then it set in 0.5 seconds into it and I lost my mind.

As a habs fan.. im so happy for you guys deserve it.
It was the stuff of beauty to see them slay 4-1 demon, seeing them win a series was even better, it being against the Lightning made it even better. Sammy did his best tribute to the great Leaf Goalies like Turk Broda and Johnny Bower. They got a long way to go to get close to their dynasties of the 1940s and the 60s, but this is definitely the best team I've seen since the 60s teams.
Forget a dynasty, I'd be happy if they win just one Cup.

The first 7 minutes of the video is almost too painful to watch. There were times even in this series where we didn’t look like we deserved to win which was reinforced by these very painful memories but when we came back from a 4-1 deficit with a little over 10 minutes left in game 4 it felt like we exorcized some demons. To win game 6 in overtime was almost unbelievable. With all the stats against them in the playoffs our boys got it done! I was a stress case during that game with the whispers of past playoff losses in my ear but to see Johnny Toronto score that goal in OT and change the narrative was incredible. The last time I saw them do this I was 11. Celebrate this win everyone. To the Leafs for all the smack talk you get from the media, opposing fans, and people who don’t know anything about hockey take this moment in. Appreciate it and let it be fuel for future series wins. 🎉

It's been a long hard road and it's not over yet! We deserve this after all that heartbreak cause we are the greatest,truest,loyalist fans in the world.I bleed blue and white forever!!!!!
I was 10 when they last won the cup, I 44 when they last playoff series , since then alot of next year.
Finally after 19 years the hockey gods have shawn the light of winning upon them.
Best game of series! Best game of the many of the unsung hereos.
They slayed their nemesis, their demons! Most of all they won as a team determined a team with passion and heart !

Been a huge Leafs Fan for 10 years (from Pittsburgh so was raised a Pens fan until I could choose) and I almost gave up hope but last night just made all of the pain feel worth it
It’s times like these that make life worth living. I know that might seem crazy to some. I grew up in a Leafs household. My room was decked out with Sundin pictures all over the wall. My grandmother was the biggest leafs fan around. I wish she was her to witness this. I don’t care if it’s just a series win. This is huge for Toronto. Proud day to be a leafs fan.

Seriously though, I remember ‘93 vs The Kings and was so heartbroken. Then again in ‘99 vs Buffalo and in 2002 against the Hurricanes. I gave up on them for a decade or so until 2013 vs Boston and again, CRUSHED!!! (I think that one hurt the most). Last night, I had to sit my son down and explain to him why daddy was screaming at the top of his lungs after they finally advanced LOL - I know it’s only the second round and lots of hockey to be played but it felt so good as a life-long fan to finally cheer again… at least for now. #GOLEAFSGO

19 years of making to the 1st round and getting shutdown. But in 2023 they have made history. Lifting the 1st round losing curse. Tampa Bay is a ruthless and determined team, they put up a hell of a fight respect to them 👏

There is a man, by the name of "Steve Dangle" and he loves the LEAFS with all his heart. He works for Sportsnet and he went crazy when they won that last game and finally broke the curse. I was so excited for him, for the team and the fans who remained loyal all throughout the years.

But man oh man, us Leafs fans really been through so much trauma and this video is the perfect representation of hope. 😢❤ we got demolished in round 2 but at least we made it. I was in a detox ctr in Boston harbor on an island, it was the best comeback I can remember and I've been watching since 1963, it's 1 hr before game time and I've been walking the city streets since this morning, I'm more nervous than I should be.

The first part of this video is the most depressing, heartbreaking, gut wrenching video I've seen in a long time. Been a Leaf fan since I was 6. Saw them win it in '67 but I've lived through every disappointment, every heart break, every set back, all the ridicule since then and then some. The Pat Burns and Pat Quinn years were really good. But the playoff losses between 2017 and 2022 make my stomach turn over. Well, we finally broke the curse. Let's move on. GO LEAFS GO!!!
It’s finally happened, and I could not be more proud of the boys. Game 7, I was in Chicago, at a soccer game. I watched the whole game on my phone, and it was the last minute of the soccer game and the team didn’t get the result they wanted, and I confused everyone by screaming my ass off at the leafs game.

I was born the year the leafs stopped winning in 04 and late in the year so this is the first time that I’ve been alive(18 and a half years old) and they finally did it, I thought I was the curse on them but they’ve done it and I can finally breathe, this is no cup obviously but this feels like nothing else, truly special

The work that Tavares did in order to hold on to the puck, do a couple of laps around the offensive zone, and finally put it in, reminded of Gilmour's goal in 1993. And the way that Tavares celebrated while being mobbed. So happy for all those guys, especially the core and the GTA boys. And extra happy for Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph. It's also been 19 years for them since the last tie they called a series win for the Leafs. And they've been calling games since at least the early 90s.
