    I'm glad you made this video. Reading the comments and realizing a lot of people had the same experience as myself is confirming my decision to not go back to the convience of these brushes. I really enjoyed how fast and easy it was. But just like others, I have way more split ends than I've ever had, my hair has fallen out in chunks, and everytime I brush my hair, I have 2-5 inch long strands of hair falling out all over the place. I've been doing my own blowouts for 14 years, so I know the whole process of protecting your hair, and I apply the same principles with the revlon brush. I broke my third one in two years and I decided to save money and go back to using a round brush and blow dryer. The first time I used my blow dryer again, I felt how much less heat was on my hair and saw how smooth and shiny it came out. It made me realize the Revlon brush has probably been the issue with my hair for these past 2 years. I guess the only positive out of this is that my hair is thinner and it takes a lot less time to blow out my hair now lol.

  • @Jasowe
    @Jasowe Před rokem +21

    Guys!! Make sure you’re using blowdry cream before you use it. It’s a godsend and an absolute must whenever you blowdry your hair. Redken big blow out cream is literally the best product you can buy to protect your hair from the heat for fine/medium hair type. Also you need to put on heat protector stray if you’re going to straighten your hair afterwards as well as the blowdry cream. This should definitely help

    • @sklptdhair
      @sklptdhair  Před rokem +7

      No amount of heat protectant can protect from the heat of this brush. Straightening your hair after using this brush will just destroy your hair. You can use heat protectant before a blow out sure, but this tool is too hot.

    • @Jasowe
      @Jasowe Před rokem +9

      I haven’t had any problems with mine, my hair looks super healthy still and iv had it for months! Also I didn’t mean straightening your hair after using the blowdry brush. I was just explaining you need extra heat protectant after blowdrying normally if you was to straighten your hair after.

    I've been using mine for a year, and my hair is great! Hasn't damaged my hair at all! But, I do not use it when my hair is real wet. I make sure my hair is nearly dry, and I never tug on my hair. If you wait until your hair is almost dry, and only have to use this a minimal amount of time, then it's fine! Also, use a heat protectant on your hair! My daughter actually has been using her's for almost two years, and no damage at all, whatsoever! I love it, and wouldn't trade it for anything. I use it at least twice a week. I think many are using improperly!

    I can confirm as well. I have had type 2 thick hair all my life. I am 36 years old. My hair’s only drawback is it’s innate frizziness but it has been weathering my general lack of care and my 2 inch straightener for years strongly. There is always someone commenting about the length, thickness and strength of my hair any time I go out. And then I came across this twisted tool. I have used this only 3 times total and a week later after my second use, I noticed my hair starting to fall. And then more and more and then it was falling like I have never seen before. In just 2 weeks time, my hair lost half of its thickness. I followed all recommended practices: used a blow dry heat protectant, rough dried before styling, not touching heat on my hair at least 3 days after etc etc.. I am mad at myself for allowing myself to fall for this trap. I will not give it away or sell it as I do not think this is a healthy tool for anyone. As for convenience, I do not see this tool adding any to your daily life. I could straighten my hair in half the time it took to blow dry my hair using this device. It also did not remove all the frizz from my hair, but my straightener usually does. Total waste of money for me. And I hope whatever damage my hair endured isn’t permanent

    I tell you my experience. I always pre-dry the hair with a normal dryer, try to divide well my strands, I use a heat protector spray and I probably do this once or twice a week. Yes, can't tell you the hair isn't frizzier than before using the brush, but I have to give you the full disclaimer: my hair is very curly and porous by nature. I think it is not fair to expect that, after all the regular heat and pulling-tension of this blowdries, no hair would fall or break. It is the price for wanting salon hair, I guess. I'll keep battling the damage with olaplex and some nourishing treatments... C'est la vie!

    I'm so depressed about this. I suffered telogen effluvium and lost half of my hair around 2009. It never grew back as thick. With the pandemic I decided to treat my hair very delicately with minimal heat or products. Just trimming and tlc. Then, with all the hype about these brushes - I went against my better judgement (why would I want to air dry, blasting heat, from the inside out, not down and along the hair (re brush and hairdryer).... Said hype got the better of me because switching brushes and arm ache from brushing and drying with my hairdryer felt so tedious and painful. I have literally (I am sure) destroyed my waist length hair after using one of these brushes just 5 times. The first time it came out OK but subsequent times it's just worse and worse and now it suddenly won't hold a style or look smooth at all, even with lots of products and using my heated tools, it is frizzing right up and losing shape. What can I do? Honestly. I was pleased it dried my hair quite quickly but now I think I was better off even just rough drying with my hairdryer and then ironing. Is there no hope? Have I caused irreparable damage and wasted my money and undone all of my hard work?

    Listen I love high heat as it’s the only thing that gets rid of my frizz, but this dryer brush’s heat is too constant. And it’s not just the direct heat that’s ruining peoples hair, it’s the tugging that this inevitably causes. I’ve watched video after video before deciding whether or not I wanted to try it, and I decided against it just by watching other peoples experience. Even while raving about it, I’m watching as they rip at their hair over and over again 😩 It’s not the same as using a round brush and a standard but good blow dryer, there is no choice in technique like you have with two separate tools, it’s just one tool with one way to use it. No good for me. No thank you. If you practice like I have for many years, it doesn’t take an hour to give yourself a blow out with a round brush and blow dryer. Small sections actually dry pretty quickly. It takes far longer if your sections are too big. So while it might seem counterproductive to section smaller, it actually results in getting the job done faster. That’s why your stylist can do it faster than you, they know these little tricks to the trade, besides having more experience in doing it more often.
    Also this isn’t really a new concept, in the 70’s and early 80’s it was the rave to use brush attachments on blow dryers. Guess why it didn’t stick around? The damage they cause far outweighs any convenience of turning two tools into one.

      You are right it's not just the heat it's the insane tugging required to use this product. I used this during the pandemic to straighten my curly hair abd it was fine at first, but over time it destroyed my hair and caused significant hair loss. My hair was so bad that I couldn't leave in its natural state, so it was a viscous cycle of my straightening my hair to make it look descent. Ive now been using nonheat methods to straighten my hair and it's starting to heal. I can even allow my hair to be in its natural state again. This not a great product and shouldn't have been allowed on the market.

    Can someone suggest a healthier option? Some people mention the Drybar and T3 one... I want the 90s blowout look but I'm not good with round brush 😞 it's not my cup of tea unfortunately!

      You can try a professional one like Amika, but they are all very similar.

    Omg I came across this video because I have been using this and my hair is literally breaking bad. Smh!!! Any suggestions to help restore the hair loss? It’s literally inches shorter. I didn’t even see it leaving it’s like it happened over night 😢

      @@sklptdhairI’ve brought the Dyson hair dryer solely for their claim of preventing heat damage and 2 years plus and 400 bucks later, I can honestly say I’m really happy I brought it. My hair is pretty healthy and drying it doesn’t take forever.
      I only suggest buying it if you’re willing to shell out big bucks because it’s basically an investment

    These blowdry brushes are SO DAMAGING. Of course using heat is never a great idea, however this brush fries your hair. No amount of so called "heat protectant " is gonna save you.

    Weird way to use this brush in my opinion. Wash your hair, put on blow put cream, use this brush on damp hair. Leave your hair alone for a week. No damage.
