Carlisle is a scent that needs to be worn multiple times to get the full effect. Each time I wear it I find something new to love.

It sux. I’m hoping it grows on me. Otherwise I’m out $200. Smells like green Jolly Rancher candy, vanilla, smoke, patchouli, and incense.

For a niche brand PDM Frags are really easy to wear for me, ( Kalan is a little tougher though) Carlisle is another one that appeals to the masses. I know when I spend my money I intend to wear my fragrances frequently and this house has a lot to offer even for the beginner.
Love this. It got me two compliments the first time I wore it out. Went to a brunch and two friends both smelled it at the same time.
Out of the previous Harrod's exclusives I actually Akaster to Carlisle. To my nose some of the notes clash. I will give Carlisle a few additional wearings come fall but I am leaning on purchasing Habdan and the two would be redundant as they both have that deep apple vibe.
Thanks for the review! Just got my bottle today and it smells less sweet than the decant I tested. Just curious does your bottle become sweeter and less harsh over time?

Parisian Oud is amazing off of my skin (I am a big fan of Christian Provenzano). Thus I have high hopes that I will equally appreciate FDB's other "dark" oud offerings.

Great Content even today. I have Layton, Percival, and Oajan. Layton and Percival have given me the most Visceral compliments from women out of All of my fragrances. I have the Herod clone as well as the Pegasus clones and Both of those are highly complimented. I'm on the fence about purchasing Carlisle or a clone of ( I have Tafakhar and its not giving me what I want.) Hearing good things about Perseus and The Exclusif version from Maison AlHambra. Any Opinions out there?

Definitely one of my favorite things to wear it’s definitely a cold weather hands down but girls wanna me when in wear it
I choose Red Tobacco over Carlisle because I LOVE the Tobacco note, I also own Herod Pegasus Oajan and Layton, and for me Oajan is the most cozy scent for me, Layton is like a Niche frag that was made to please the crowds even Aventus didn’t gave me so many compliments.

TroyD247Mall Thank you mate, I actually bought Side Effect for my best friends 18 birthday he is not a frag head but the loves it so much he said he hates me because i got him into niche perfume and he tried Naxos from my collection and said he has to buy it immediately haha

I got the 81% people say thats weaker than the batch before, but I think still strong
To me smells very similar to Valentino Coral Fantasy.
To me Coral Fantasy is softer, and I think Coral Fantasy is beast mode already, imagine this one.
Mr Troy does it smell dirty on your skin? When you spray it on your skin and you put your nose close to your wrist, does it smell dirty?

Herod is more versatile but Carlisle is better. Panty dropper %150 percent but there’s a window of the year you can wear it , for me it’s about 67 degrees and below weather because it is heavy.

TheRainMaker if you have a lot of different fragrance buy Carlisle if you want a workhorse buy Herod. If you were gonna do the seasonal 4 for life thing get Carlisle for winter ❄️☃️

Get it. You will love it. It’s a 50 shades of gray ..kind of fragrance. Tie me to the bed. Great for bar/club…cuddling too 😊 masculine, dark, seductive. I love to wear at night helps me sleep better and arouses me. 😂

Definitely Carlisle. It’s a seductive dark leathery bad boy bar/club ….great for cuddling too. It’s a tie me to the bed frag. Treat me like 50 shades of gray. 🤣😘

Does PDM make anything that doesn’t smell like vanilla? So bored with vanilla. Creed offers a variety of fragrances. PDMs seems like they’re all flankers of based around smoke and vanilla.
Yeah, their fresh scents have zero vanilla. Sedley, Percival and Greenley to name the popular ones.
Man this was a scrubber for me. Too harsh for me, something was off-putting.
Ya i thought it was time to bring this review out to warn people as well because it has that harshness. Side effect is crazier tho imo :)

PDM are overhyped, for their prices they have become weak with no longevity, a terrible shame.

Parfums de Marly has REFORMULATED Carlisle. I own an older formulation which has an alcohol concentration of 77%. The new formulation I see in stores has 81% alcohol. My formulation is a dark ORANGE / AMBER color. The new formulation is a very light, faint copper color. The new formulation does not last as long and it smells different. Parfums de Marly fragrances are ALWAYS much weaker than their ORIGINAL releases. Parfums de Marly HAS NOT been transparent when it comes to the reformulation of their fragrances. Herod, Layton & Oajan have also been reformulated and have 3%-4% more alcohol in newer batches.

@@TroyD247Mall Some stores have both the 2015 old formulation 77% alcohol & the new 2021 formulation 81% alcohol of Carlisle and the new & older formulations of Oajan, Herod & Layton. The Parfums de Marly reps in the stores do not even know about the reformulation but they have inventory with both formulations. I have been to 7 stores this week that carry Parfums de Marly

Carlisle is overrated. Thanks to Demi Rawling hype train that many guys jumped on. It's good but not amazing. I find Layton, Layton exclusive and Pegasus much more interesting. Herod was Ok. Still want to try Habdan and Oajan.
Is Layton the best for compliments in your opinion?
@@TheBryanrice1991 Haven't really had a chance to really test it yet with the pandemic. Everyone wears masks now. I just think it smells amazing, unique and rich. I'm sure it will get compliments. I'm gonna layer it 50/50 with Layton exclusive. I bought both. If I could just pick one it would be Layton exclusive. It's more mature and has more depth.
They are all compliment magnets...but that Oajan.... Wowwwww... It's like smelling an apple cinnamon pie... (Compliments Oajan 1a , Layton 1b, then Herod #2)
@@Gildhattie Just got my Oajan decant. You're spot on with the smell. Only thing downside is it limits you pretty much to a fall scent.
And yet she was a hype train on Layton....
