- Title pretty much says it all. This is a simple mug from aspen sticks cast in a blue resin. It’s coated in a food-safe resin (Max CLR) so it can actually be used.
Thank you for liking, commenting and, of course, subscribing!
The bubbles are even cool I love it
My favorite view is watching the drinkware being made. I would definitely want a set of these in my special cabinet.
Oh wow! That is so beautiful. Absolutely love it 😍. Excellent work.
Wow. Beautiful color with the aspen sticks. I don't think I have ever seen a cup or mug hollowed out that thin, incredible. Job well done.
Stay safe and healthy. ❤😺
it was almost too thin. It needed the coating of food-safe epoxy to stiffen it back up!
Great
Super tare 💛👍💖☕🍦🍒
🖒стильно и красиво. Очень понравилось видео. Все Ваши работы сделаны с большим мастерством.
это очень любезно с вашей стороны. Спасибо.
Amazing CAS I thoroughly enjoyed watching you work
Glad you enjoyed it
Oh how wonderful. If it were mine I would display it on its side to show off the marvellous landscapes such as 5:08
thank you!
I'm wanting to get into turning I know it would be quite a while before I can do resin but I want to know things way ahead of time is using the pressure pot the only way to get the bubbles out also where do you get them that mug is beautiful thank you for sharing this and showing me how to do it
What polish did you use? Its a food safe epoxy but then you polished it out with.....? Does the epoxy stay shiny if used and said polish wears off? Thanks!
Nice very very nice
Thanks a lot
Dope!
thanks!
So CooL
thank you!
Superbe !
thank you!
I love all of your projects. Can I ask; do you use shellac as a sanding sealer?
thanks. I’ve used Mylands Sanding Sealer a lot in the past, but I’ve been frustrated by how much it was darkening my wood in cases where I wanted the wood to stay pretty light, so I made some of my own sanding sealer by dissolving super blonde shellac flakes in denatured alcohol.
@@CASWoodcraft awesome, thanks for the reply. I'm finding small frustrations with traditional sanding sealers also, so I've mixed up some super blonde as well. Haven't used it on turnings yet, but good to hear you are liking it. Thanks for your videos.
Thats very cool looking! Can you use that for hot liquids?
Yes, absolutely
What is the tool that you use to hollow out the center? I'm new to woodturning, and it seems so much easier.
It’s a Forstner bit. They come in all kinds of different sizes.
What kind of mold is that that you made it in? Been trying to find more of that size that are reusable
That was a disinfectant wipe container.
what products do you use
Just what is the pressure pot used for? I mean, what does it do for the resin? Also, could you do one in purple?
It pushes air bubbles out of the resin. And yes, pretty much any color can be used.
That is absolutely stunning! Is it for sale?
I’m afraid that one was for me! :)
@@CASWoodcraft I don’t blame you! It’s freaking gorgeous! ☺️
How wld I go about trying to purchase 1
When I have them available, they can be purchased at my Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/caswoodcraft. Unfortunately they don't stay in stock very long I'm afraid!
Woodglut has a lot of designs to choose from.
