Big thanks to Paige for helping Kelsey out! What other tutorial videos do you want?
Get Chris Clemens to teach you how to throw lefty
Honestly just the Forehand. It is so satisfying watching throwing a hammer of a forehand but when i try it, it either goes to the left or right... And i woiuld consider myself a decent thrower but the forehand is tuff....
much love :)
Oh dear haha
A round with just Paige and Kelsey with Brodie recording. Obviously with PP teaching KS along the way.
Paige had some really great tips! I'd love to see a tutorial on approach shots next!
This is one of the reasons Paige is a world champion. She thinks about her backhand form while in the grocery store. She is thinking disc golf when her competitors are relaxing.
Mamba Mentality
@@BLYFACTOR Fierce Pierce mentality
@@zachwoolard3260 #saltlife
She's also not content to be the big fish in a small pond. She wants to make the pond itself bigger.
She can rip which proves it's not a power game it's all about form
Big "thank you" to Paige. She corrected issues that clinics, lessons, and other CZcams videos had not addressed. Instead of saying your upper body timing must match your lower body timing, she broke it down and explained to how to make that possible. She deserves a million Christmas cards from disc golfers this year.
Truth! My husband was astonished my throw was SO much improved after ONE video. I watched this like 5 times and practiced the motions at home over and over then went to play with him and blew his socks off! LOL
I was thinking the same thing...
Actually they should not be simultaneous. Hip-shoulder dissociation
I have seen every discgolf tutorial on youtube, and this has to be one of the best out there, Paige is a master.
Totally. This explains the power pocket so well anyone from beginner to experienced will benefit because a lot of people don’t know this stuff, I know I didn’t know and I’ve been doing this for 2-3 years now
Forreal
My thoughts exactly. That elbow/hip hit demonstration made my jaw drop. 10/10 would buy a Paige Pierce disc golf training VHS. lol
@@LoveableDingus VHS? :D
She really did explain it super well, in simple to understand terms.
The guy putting in the back at 3:43 is my spirit animal
lmao

Haha he’s one of the few who disliked this video.
😂🤣😂
lol
These were some amazing tips from Paige that literally everybody that plays disc golf can learn from
ヘ(。□°)ヘ
Sometimes it's really helpful to hear from someone like Paige, who has had to figure out how to squeeze every ounce of power from her throw to get similar distance as the men. She's got probably one of the most technically sound backhands on tour because of that.
This is actually one of the best tutorials I’ve seen.
She's quite good. I saw a putting training with her and Ricky and he was doing all the talking and I just found myself skipping to the rare moments where paige was talking.
Paige is not only a world champion she is clearly a fantastic coach. Kelsey is a delight, and I love how she's such a large part of the channel. Also as a former dancer myself, her body control is going to help her so much as she learns proper form.
Definitely! Dance and gymnastic backround make other sports much easier to learn, because They have much better control of their body movement and exspecially the central body.
That's a good point, never really thought about that. That's really neat!
Based on her throwing style, i would think Jennifer Allen was a dancer, too.
damn brodie talked once!!! kelsey has really come so far as far as being able to hold a video and know what needs to be said. shes got a great instinct for sports!!!
watched this and instantly realized what I was doing wrong with my throws going to work on the change and see how it helps.
Same here!! I think I am definitely rounding with my hips before the release.
Same here.
@@stardustie Yeah same here I know for a fact that's what I do because I make a point to try and engage my hips more. Unfortunately in the wrong way though lol.
In the same boat
Im 100% rounding my hips pre throw.
This was my favorite breakdown to date of someone explaining the timing aspect of the backhand. I believe this will be more useful to me in practice than any other breakdown of the backhand shot I have seen, thank you Paige for this info!
This hip suggestion is huge. Cant wait to see the improvement from practicing it
I was thinking the same exact thing. The hundreds of hours and videos I've watched on form and teachings I've always been under the impression it was the spinning of the hips on the trailing side which gives power. Now to learn its a shift from behind to forward then rotation?
What happened after practicing

Best disc golf video you’ve posted. It’s one thing having pros show us how to throw but it’s an entirely different thing having them go over someone’s form who makes the same little errors all newbies do and showing how to correct it. Thanks Paige for taking time out to do it and thanks Kelsey for not being too embarrassed to do it. (And well done on your tournament. That was fantastic and I look forward to seeing more). 🤙
4 minutes of Paige talking and you can clearly see the transformation in Kelsey's stance and focus!
Bloody amazing work on both parts!
Paige once again proving how amazing she is, take the throw and break it down so simple into something Kelsey could grasp. Great work Kelsey!
I knew about the elbow when throwing, first I've heard about the hip thing, maybe this will help my timing issue... now to practice. Thank you Paige, Kelsey and Brodie for making this happen, love it.
Hands down the best disc golf tutorial I've seen on CZcams. Paige's pointers are very specific, actionable, and easy to imagine. We need more videos with tutorials by her!
Kelsey and Paige...A disc golf match made in heaven. Love seeing Kelsey get into disc golf.
Thank you for this. I have been watching tutorials for over a year now trying to figure out what I have been missing. The small tip of popping your elbow toward the basket is the best I have heard. Tried it today and my throws were going much further with better accuracy. Thank you Paige and Brodie!
Paige is a PHENOMENAL teacher. Best tutorial on driving I've ever watched. Thank you, Paige!
Kelsey is my spirit animal in this video. I had been bummed out for a few weeks at what seemed like a lack of a legit backhand breakdown video. This just made my day and week and probably far beyond that. Saved to watch it way more times moving forward. Thank you Paige!
Literally one of, if not the very best disc golf tutorials I have ever seen! I cannot wait to go try out these tips! Great video!
That’s super interesting. This is the first I’ve ever heard someone break down the hip motion that way.
Gonna have to give that a shot
Wow, this really explains certain ideas/concepts that so many teachers struggle to articulate. Right towards the halfway mark or 2/3 in she says it so well and concisely that I just wanna go outside and through some disc's even though its pitch black out.
Finally, advice on timing! I have watched several videos describing the elements of a backhand drive, but never understood how to combine them. Great tutorial!
I've seen a few tutorial sessions with Paige now and she's such a great teacher! Thanks
Only been playing a little over a year but it’s one of the major joys in my life! This game turns all my bad feelings into good feelings! 😂 all these videos have helped my game so much! Keep slingn’ those discs!
Honestly, that's one of the most helpful, thorough explanations of the disc golf motion I've ever heard!
Of all the explanations of the timing of the hips in relation to the elbow, this by far takes the top spot. Very informative, and well instructed.
This is one of the most helpful videos I've seen on backhand technique. Paige is a great teacher.
Hands down, THE BEST instructional backhand video for beginners I have seen! Good job, folks!
Her explaining of using your hips in the throw made much more sense than a lot of other videos. Practice time!
Unexpectedly more excited for Johanesburger's disc golf journey than Brodie's 🤣
This was the most informative video yet. I liked the break down of the steps!
Thank you guys!
Alot of useful information in a short period of time 👍👍. I love it! Good luck Kelsey!
I've watched a bunch of video lessons on youtube explaining how to throw. Paige explained it better than any other video I've seen, I really like how she teaches it.
Paige is a master. I’ve been a teacher for 3 years, and have watched 3 years worth of “how to throw backhand videos,” but this was by far the best video.
Great video Kelsey!! A different side of you for sure, cool to see some more of your individuality. Keep it up, tons of confidence in this one, one of the best in while
One of the best videos I have seen about back hand throw tutorial 💪🏻
Would love to see this become a series!! It would help so many women starting out!
Great job Kelsey!
Great players give great advice. Love these suggestions. Paige's form is among the best in the game and I'm so happy for this vid.
This video is super helpful. Thank you for posting.
That second point about the hip hitting at the same time as the elbow is a super super great insight that I don't remember ever seeing before. Really glad I watched this; I'm gonna be thinking about that next time out!
I’ve been YouTubing like crazy trying to reinvent my backhand the last few months. This has been the most helpful video I’ve seen. It’s like she touched on every point I’ve been stuck on. Awesome!
I think this is perhaps the best backhand instruction video i´ve ever seen! Brilliant as usual Paige!
Paige is so well spoken and does a great job verbalizing the technique she is discussing! Thanks y'all!
I have watched several videos on how to increase distance since starting disc golf in about June 2020, none of them made a difference, watched this one and now I can throw my backhand further than my forehand for the first time. Thanks for the video, and thanks for the tutorial Paige!
Really loving these latest videos, Brodie.
Super helpful!!! The elbow and hip moving forward like that. !!! Great job with everyone
Paige is so awesome! Always impressed with her as a competitor and a person!!
One of the best videos yet!
Paige is an amazing teacher! Hands down one of the best tutorials out there for both men and women
the details in the videos are really treasures. thx
One of the best instructional video's for beginners I've seen especially the tip about speeds for a beginner. Exactly what me and my wife did and couldn't figure out why the disc's went like they did. Now we know.
Seriously answered questions perfectly for me to understand! Top notch! Thanks Paige! Thanks Brodie! Thanks Janice!
Best backhand tutorial I've watched yet!
couldn't imagine a better person to teach her. Best production to size ratio in the game AND an awesome person as well!
Thanks! Clearest demo and explanation so far.
Paige is an amazing teacher!! Thanks for the tips!!
Loved it, really routing for you Kelsey and think it’s great that Paige Pierce give you a quick lesson, that was nice of Paige to give her time for a fellow disc golfer. “Throw em good”
Thanks for sharing this! I sharing it with our local women's league group. I like the visualization of the hip to basket. Very similar to what I used to use when working with our women's ultimate time. Don't lock that front leg/knee, keep some bend/flexibility to help with rotation. Locking always sent discs into the air. :D
Great tips, thanks a lot. Much more help here than most videos. Great teacher.
That was some great ground up instruction to throw a backhand.. can't wait to try it out.
Great tips from Paige!! I learned some stuff I've been doing wrong and I'm going to give it a try next time on the course to see how much better I am. Thanks for sharing Brotato chip!
Hey brodie.... Thanks for the upload. I always enjoy watching
Incredible tips. Breaking down the timing of the throw was so helpful for me
Thanks for the tutorial. Paige is such a great teacher. Very straight to the point, simple, clear explanation and instruction. I'm a newbie and I'm still learning how to throw mid-range and putter discs.
@Happy Katz thanks for the suggestion. Someone gave me a llight weigh Buzzz that was given out in the tourney. He didn't keep it because it's in 150's, too light for him. It's perfect for me and it has been my top favorite mid range so far. I'm thinking of upgrading to a bit heavier weight in 160's in the near future :D
I've been playing since I was 9, and this video even helped me. Great stuff!
Paige is too good. She is a legend. I'm fairly new to disc golf and this gave me some great tips and tricks. Awesome video!
What a great instructional video. I would love to see more videos from Paige.
Dang okay! I’m gonna stop trying to reach back all the way and start reaching back till my shoulders are parallel. Thanks, Paige! And thanks for the upload, Brodie!
Thanks, Paige Brodie and Kelsey. Great video with helpful hint and more to practice.
she is a natural teacher!!! excellent tutorial!!!
Paige’s pointers are fanfreakingtastic! The whole hip/elbow hit is so good! Thanks for the video folks!
She's a really good teacher, thanks for sharing this. This is super useful
I've watched about a 1000 tutorials and this one was seriously the best. Paige is just the best.
Its great to hear her thought process
Excellent lesson, helped me alot.
A+ Video! Paige has probably the most flawless backhand form I have seen! Thanks for this!! I am ABSOLUTLEY showing this to my wife
I have watched many videos and I have never heard the hips rounding explained like this. Great Video.
This is the best explanation I have seen online. She's a great coach.
One of the better backhand breakdown videos, thanks!
Paige is a killer coach!! thanks for explaining it so well and in depth. I can already feel applying this to my game will really help it. Need more tips from Paige!
Thanks for making this video man! My wife is just starting to play and she’s been wanting to see women practicing so she can learn from them!
Page is a great instructor......Kelsey is fortunate to have that 10 mins, she really got results right-a-way. I have also learned as I watched and heard the explanation. Thank You
Disc Golfer since 1978 and now I finally know...how to throw. Thanks Paige. Thanks Brodie and Kelsey. Keep slinging them discs!😎
Probably the best tutorial on CZcams. She is my favorite disc golfer
I'm a noob and have watched about 100 how to disc golf video & by far Paige is the BEST teacher!!!!!
Killin the channel game lately man keep it up!!
Super chill and easy digest. I just got into this yesterday so watching videos and she’s lovely very visual very detailed. I feel like I’m already just slightly better for watching this lol
Thanks Brodie,Kelsey and Paige this was a super helpful video < i had no idea and what great tips from all of you in the know
This was beyond helpful 🥺
absolutely amazing lesson
This is actually great advice for people like me. I played baseball my whole life and when hitting the hips rotating starts the motion, so learning that the hips basically need to be last is a major help
I loved this, it will help my distance on the drive shot. Thank you 😊
This video is freakin awesome!!! It makes so much sense! Thanks Brodie, Paige and Kelsey! Great content for beginner and intermediate players!!!
Great video! I love the body-mechanics breakdown
That was master class! Great lesson!
That was great and very helpful. My back hand is also non existent so i only throw fore hand as well. Thank you Paige and Brodie for the video.
Great tips from Paige, glad to see Kelsey adding to her toolbox.
