KEEP SLINGING THEM DISCS!!!
#DiscGolf #PracticeRound #BrodieSmith - Sport
This took me a really long time to grasp. Hopefully this helps you guys pick out discs perfect for your game.
Thanks for sharing and taking your time to help!
What if the disc is domey or flat? Stiff or flexible? Also does temperature have an effect? Appreciate the vid Brodie!
This video is amazing.
Thanks, perfect to see and great camera work from your better half!
I'll gladly take all the disc's that no longer work in your bag
Probably the clearest, best articulated explanation of disc flight characteristics on CZcams. Your description of wind speed is so on-point. Thank you for feeding our brains with delicious disc wisdom.
Couldn't agree more.

@@ericdunthorne1981 was about to post that channel super good content and most of it is almost 10 years old
This has helped more than any other video for sure... At a futher level and with some knowledge. Plastic messed me up. I have felt the difference, but wow. Poor people can't try out every plastic at once and this blows my little noodle. Thanks for the wisdom.
really? best articulated?
Shout out to Kelsey, her camera work is fantastic, she has adapted to Disc Golf filming so quickly! Seeing the video with your buddy in Vegas I was missing Kelsey's silky smooth camera operation.
@sTiTcH seriously. Aaron needs to get over it

I’m sure u know some of this already but each disc has numbers even tho some don’t print it on the disc you can find it online! Quick tip that I learned from throwing some of my friends discs! If you throw around 270-300 feet max try a “blizzard plastic” (makes the disc super light) disc by innova! I have a innova krait in that plastic and it’s 141g 11/ 5 / -1 / 2. The disc flies with such glide and power but it’s easy to get that speed because of the weight! For me I can throw it around 320-350ft. I suggest trying it out! They got some more as well in this plastic! Have fun out on the course bro
@@PoloZ34 Most bigger manufacturers make lightweight discs. Prodigy, Dynamic Disc, Latitude etc. Discraft doesn't have many of those. Discmania has those too.
I ditched Innova many years ago, because you never know what you get when you buy Innova. Very inconsistent. You buy two from the same mold and they fly totally differently. With that arm speed, I recommend to try Latitude's Sapphire if you like lighter discs. For the woods, e.g. Dynamic Discs Breakout for hyzerflips and controlled drives.
I like how they don't even have to edit or have jump cuts because Brodie is so smooth with his explanation that they don't even need to edit anything out. Even when he messes up his words at the end he just rolls with it! I love it! also great explanation, thus really helps a lot!
Your youtube background makes it that you have really comfortable and easily understandable explanations infront of the camera. Can't wait for more tutorial! Flick and backhand one day I hope? Also please do a backhand upshot tutorial.
To piggy-back on this, you could release a shot shape video for beginners. If you choose OS, S, or US disc and combine that with hyzer, flat, or anhyzer, what will the disc do?
that would be amazing! Add it to disc golf valley 😃
This is something that I think would be very helpful. It's one thing to hear the Jomez crew talking about it. It's another to be able to do it.
You are a natural educator. Been watching your ultimate tutorials from way back too
Best breakdown I’ve seen on all of the variables that impact stability!

As someone trying to get into disc golf brodie has been a huge help. Always easy to understand clear information. Dude thanks for the help and clarity to the terms we all hear in disc golf.
FINALLY! THANK YOU! I've been playing for a lot of years and I've learned a few things but, this 15-minute video is pretty much all any beginner would need to watch in order to completely figure things out from an enjoyable amateur standpoint! Great job!
Please keep these instructional videos coming! Being an ultimate dominate background, this breakdown really helps me understand what I'm doing wrong and where I need to focus my effort.
Thank you Brodie. You are very eloquent teacher. I've learned from 10-15 minutes of your video. What I couldn't and didn't learned in 10 years. You are very dedicated and disc golf loving G.
Once again, thank you. And keep on helping us to improve our game.
Easily one of your best videos. Clear and concise, with simple breakdowns as to what is happening with different throws.
Best explanation I have seen on stability. covering all the points, and showing how the disc, and user need to be matched for it all to come together. Thanks for the video! Its something I'll show others who ask me about stability.
Definitely the best video on this I’ve seen so far, helped out big time I sent it over to a buddy of mine that had a bunch of questions too!!
Thank you for talking about all this with a beginner in mind! The nose up and nose down part is what really stuck out to me. I have never considered this as having an affect on my discs!! Definitely something I’m going to work on since I mainly throw too nose up. Great video man!
I am new at disc golf doing it about a year now, my fiance's brother introduced me to the sport last November. I just love it! He's shared about stability but never really understood the concept but this video helps me alot I appreciate you brother!!! Keep slanging those discs!
Absolutely love your excitement about the game Brodie! Keep slinging them discs!
That was one of the best descriptions of how wind affects the stability that I've heard. It finally makes sense to me why the discs react the way they do in a head and tail wind. Also, well done on bringing all these concepts together in a way that clearly and concisely explains stability. I would love to see some more educational videos in the near future.
Awesome video thanks brodie. Throwing the different plastics was the best part. There are so many it gets confusing. Seeing you throw the same disc with each plastic helps me understand them much better.
Brodie, I can see you becoming a major ambassador for this awesome sport. Thank you for taking so much time to Inform and entertain the rest of us! Can’t wait to see what you come out with in the future. Thanks again!
Dude who the heck disliked this? This video was the clearest most understandable and best explanation of flight characteristics anywhere.
Agreed!
Excellent video!
Thanks Brodie 👊
Keep slinging those discs!
Thanks for all the info. Knowing what a beat in disc looks like and the relationship in flight is very helpful. Great content.
I had written my other comments before I watched the video, you did a great job covering all the basics that affect flight, nicely done.
Too many new players get confused over this as there are so many variables.
great video @Brodie Smith, one of the most comprehensive explanations I have seen
Thanks Brodie for all of these helpful tips. I have only been playing for a few months and now I really got a new outlook on how to throw. I have never really ripped a disc and will start doing it now. And also now that you showed that I should never see the stamp of the disc when throwing should make a big difference. I got to get my hands on a jawbreaker metro. Thanks dude!
This was so awesome. This type of stuff is what I was excited to see when you started disc golf!
2 months in so far, thank you for all your help it truly is great to be as good as I am because I watch your videos and others. Thank you
I learned so much from that. I love introducing my friends to disc golf and when they want to know how to get better it’s so hard for me to explain these concepts. This video will help everyone learning disc golf! I’m totally going to send this video to them. Thanks Brodie
This was actually the clearest explanation to disc stability and how outside factors other than just the mold effect flight. Awesome job man!
These videos makes me so happy. Need more disc golf content from u!
Probably your best video so far. As a 3rd year competitor i confirm everything you said 100%. The nose is probably the most important factor in determining a controlled shot. Keep up the great work!
Awesome, you captured and summarized it very well in this video. I thought using the same disc as you control was very smart and made it easier to understand.
Thank you!!! One of the best tutorials on this subject I’ve seen!!!
Once again you are the man! I really appreciate the knowledge you’re sharing. I’m tempted to not even tell my friends about the info you give out so I always have the advantage. Thanks again Brodie!
This is an incredible tutorial on these subjects. Great video.
I’ve watched so many videos on this and this is by far the most helpful. Thanks a ton man!
I was looking for this exact video yesterday! Great video and explanations. Keep the how to videos coming Brodie.
Thx brotha.. very informative. Watched a tons of videos so far. Luv watching the videos with you and Paul.

Brand new to the sport and I appreciate all the videos you post. It’s been a huge help to my game so far!
Gotta say I’ve watched a lot of informational videos about disc golf and this one I got the most info out of thanks Brodie! And great job presenting it!
Super helpful. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Brodie I am laid up with Bad sciatic back pain but this is the video that I’ve been looking for for the last year and a half thank you for doing a great job and explaining it it is the best I’ve seen
Love your videos Bro-D-Golf you learning has taught me a lot. Thank you man
Ive recently gotten into disc and even more recently wanted to see more improvement. Thank you for this
I started playing Disc golf a couple of weeks ago, after i stumbled on to your YT channel. Thanks Brodie :) youve given me a new sport, and thx for teaching us newbies about it. Kudos to you and your crew.
Awesome vid love all the info and I am enjoying seeing your growth within the game its awesome
By far the most helpful video you have posted . Well helpful to me. Thanks dude !
This is the most informative video on discs I've seen. And I watch a lot of videos. Well done keep up the great videos!
Thank you . I understand most of my disc's now. as a person starting from scratch i can judge where it will land and how far.. very informative and helpful as well as you explain it so well
I think this was the best video about this subject that I have seen. As a beginner I have looked all the videos and here's everything you need to know.
Dropped this vid in our group chat for our new players in our group. Explained perfectly.
Great job Brodie. Explained and demonstrated nicely.
This is your best video yet. Great content.
I’ve been a fan since the very beginning and I can’t tell you how happy I was when he went to disc golf.
Good stuff, really helpful to know what effects the flight of the disc, thanks so much!
Good post.
Hey man way to go on your play this year so far. Looks like you're figuring this game out🖖🏼
With all the new Disc golfers these explanations will help a lot of people figure it out easier. Thanks for your help to grow the sport.
Super helpful! I’ll be coming back to this video, and it’s a great one to share with beginners. Would love more educational type stuff, also one on how you fixed the nose up issue.
This is exactly what I needed!!! Thanks Brodie (and Kelsey for shooting the video :) )!
Great video brodie! For another video I would love your take on your snap/pivit. So not as much your grip, but how you go about getting the snap and there for the right rotation.
Keep up the good work
great video brodie way to go in depth on how each plastic reacts
Great content. All points covered are crucial.
This is exactly the information I and other beginners look for and need, but can never really find a good answer for, thanks and keep doing stuff like this please! 🙏
Great instructional video Brodie. When you first hit the scene I wasn't sure what to think; but you are winning me over. Good luck out there
Huge thanks Brodie for the great tutorial video! I'm a beginner and I have played for 2 months. I have begun to grasp the different molds, plastics and different kinds of disc. But my form is lacking, the thing you said about the "hula hoop" was amazing and the nose down, nose up part was really helpful too. Now I understand what I need to work on to improve my own game!
many thanks from Sweden! =)
Thanks bro... super helpful
Great video, Brodie! This is really helpful!
Yes...what a great explanation of this...there is so much to absorb and the terminology used in some other content is hard to grasp. Thanks!
Oh and yes, more instructional videos are great!
The absolute best possible explanation of this that I have ever seen on CZcams. Bravo 🎉 my friend and 🥂 thanks for the amazing information! Been trying to see it in these words.
This man is a hero. Great video!
Awesome video. I’ve only been playing about two months now but it’s crazy how many different discs I have bought in different types of plastic to put a bag together that works for my throw. I’m constantly experimenting with the same disc but different plastic, and different discs all together to find what comes out best for me. At first I couldn’t believe how much more my Champion Roc 3 faded than my DX Roc 3 when I first got them. Just got myself a basket recently and I bought a bunch of new putters to test out and practice with. Each person has to find what works for them.
This video is my new go-to for understanding disc characteristics. The new gold standard here. Thanks Brodie!
Great video Brody! Suggestion: when you edit an instructional video any chance you can add a disc tracer line to show the disc flight? it's tough to see the discs when you throw bombs like you do! Keep going man. I love your content!
Super helpful. Thanks, Brodie! Keep ‘em coming.
Thanks for the video. Excellent explanations.
Thanks! Helped a lot mentally, can’t wait to try it out on the course
Love these instructional videos! Watched this 3x back to back
Very thorough explanation! Thanks! Great demonstration too!
I've been asking these questions since I started (2 months). I is very helpful, but, I will need to watch this video several more times to get a full grasp of its meanings. Thanks.
So good Brodie! Thanks for this video!
Thanks man this info is gold
Man, you are probably the best disc golf instructor on CZcams. Keep up the great work!!
This is your best video to date. Thank you. Gotta try that nose down magic today.
Excellent job!! Very thorough. In such a short video too. Great commentary and good throws. Great edits too. And big shout out to Kelsey!!! Great camera work! How many times did y’all laugh doing this..😂🤣 The disc golf community is glad and blessed to have you, Brodie!!
Been playing for years and this definitely helps me understand some things that I didn't know before
Perfect video. Learned so much. Thank you 💛
This helped a ton ❤
Def a great video.
Keep up the great work Brodie.
This is one of the best disc golf tutorial videos on CZcams!
Honestly your best video so far, enjoyed your well spoken pace throughout the commentary. Keep it up!
Would recommend getting a tripod for your camera when filming rounds, your latest ones have been a bit shaky. Great job man
I already knew this stuff but still wanted to check out this video. you described everything to T. great vid!
Wow, wow , and wow ! Brodie this video is the answer to my new discs purchases. Ever since l have been playing the only disc that flys good for me are putters or some midranges . Now I’m going to use your advise and watch this over again a couple times and see if l can be successful throwing my stable and unstable drivers . I like how you explain and show us what works for you and that is a good starting point for me to work on and start using those discs that have stayed in the cart because l wasn’t sure how to throw them. Wanted also to thank Paul McBeth for being your mentor and l really enjoyed watching you and him play rounds together this year. Proud of you and please keep the videos coming, Dark Horse rules!!
Great video, something everybody new or not should watch. It took me a long time to learn this stuff. Keep em coming!
This was a great demonstration of the knowledge you've gained. I went through the same thing this past year. My last big question is how to control nose angle on forehand throws.
Love all the content, Brodie
Your thumbnail helped me more understanding the stability of a disc then most videos on CZcams
im really liking the discord app. liking the videos ive been throwing a long time but getting back into it full force again thanks for all the great videos
The Foundation Disc Golf server on Discord is Fire for sure
@@BrodieSmith yeah probably the best explained
