  • For those of you who like to watch EVERY brush stoke of a painting exercise from start to finish, this is the long version of my watercolor daffodils painting. Sometimes a complete overview of a painting can help you understand the full process - so in this video nothing has been missed out, you'll see everything I did from beginning to end...
These are not the easiest flowers to paint. Here I'll show you the techniques and tricks I used for this watercolor daffodil composition.
    Enjoy !

Hello! I'm Anthony. An independent artist and illustrator based near Paris in France. Watercolor painting was my first passion. So a few years ago I took out my old paints, and rekindled my love for watercolors. I decided to start charting some of my watercolor experiences in the form of my blog, “WatercolorAffair.com” (and now through my CZcams channel). My objective was to start sharing some of my hard won knowledge in the hope that it will help and inspire others to paint with watercolors!
    Thank you for following !

This was magnificent I cannot see different layers of colour to be able to paint like this I suppose that’s because you’re an expert in your art. ❤

Gorgeous painting! One of the best daffodil watercolor tutorials I've seen! Excellent explanations. Thank you!

  • @teresamitchell-banks2286

How lovely to see beautiful joyous yellow daffodils rather than dirty grey ones. You have a lovely voice and I think the music was distracting. Thank you for sharing. I have subscribed and look forward to seeing and hearing more of you

It looks like you need to work fairly quickly in order to do the wet on wet. I’m tempted to do one flower (the one on the lower left) for practice.

I just bought my first Kolinsky sable watercolor brush, and what a difference! Since I’m in the U.S., I’m having trouble finding anyone here who carries Rosemary and Company, although it looks like I can order from Jackson, and somehow get free shipping! The one I bought was a Princeton, and I’m very happy with it, but I paid a lot because I wanted to support a local art store (it’s the only decent place around here). I bought a size 10, and it does everything I’d hoped. So much smoother and easier to get nice results. It was a major leap for me, but I’m glad I finally did it.
Another brush I’ve seen recommended that is about the same price as R & Co. is Escoda. Have you tried that brand, and if so, what are your thoughts. I want to get a size 8 next.

This video was very instructive. Thank you. Unfortunately, I found the background music really distracting.
