These are not the easiest flowers to paint. Here I'll show you the techniques and tricks I used for this watercolor daffodil composition.

Hello! I'm Anthony. An independent artist and illustrator based near Paris in France. Watercolor painting was my first passion. It looks like you need to work fairly quickly in order to do the wet on wet. I’m tempted to do one flower (the one on the lower left) for practice.
I just bought my first Kolinsky sable watercolor brush, and what a difference! Since I’m in the U.S., I’m having trouble finding anyone here who carries Rosemary and Company, although it looks like I can order from Jackson, and somehow get free shipping! The one I bought was a Princeton, and I’m very happy with it, but I paid a lot because I wanted to support a local art store (it’s the only decent place around here). I bought a size 10, and it does everything I’d hoped. So much smoother and easier to get nice results. It was a major leap for me, but I’m glad I finally did it.
Another brush I’ve seen recommended that is about the same price as R & Co. is Escoda. Have you tried that brand, and if so, what are your thoughts. I want to get a size 8 next.
