You are the best and most thorough watercolor teacher on the web. I've had it on my bucket list to get to be a somewhat adequate painter of watercolor flowers, and this year+ of quarantine, and being in the house seems the time. This one is the second of yours I've watched. Thank you for being so thorough! And your personality and lovely voice and accent just make it all more enjoyable. Thank you!

Thank you for this tutorial. I've just finished mine and quite happy with it. I've framed it to give my mum on Mother's Day. When I was little my Dad would take my brothers and I to buy daffodils for her on Mother's Day then we'd go home to make her breakfast in bed. (back when one bunch was 10 pence!). I live overseas and haven't seen her for a few years so I hope this brings back some memories for her and makes her smile.

I am SOOO very glad I searched here on CZcams for help in drawing/ painting daffodils in watercolor!! Your tutorial here is what I SOOO desperately needed, Harriet. I took two pages of notes. Tomorrow, when I get home from tests and Dr appt, I am going to draw and paint daffodils. I will need a good relaxing time after the hours at the hospital.
Thank you so very much for this, Harriet.

I learned how do layering with this video. I learned how draw daffodils and paint the trumpet. Also I learned how to blend the greens for the stems of the flowers. I felt like I took a good class. It's the second time I watched it. I will watch again as I paint the flowers. It's so nice to just stop n start and keep doing as you are. Hoping mine are half as lovely as yours. Thank you Harriet so much for the time and effort you put into your tutorials. Who is the person behind the camera? Good job to whomever.

I remember violets from my childhood. We'd pick them as a neighborhood woman, Sally, took a bunch of us on a walk.
There were purple ones, white ones, and mixed up purple-white ones. 😊

this is beautiful. I am a beginner watercolour artist and loved that you were left handed. (unless my screen is screwed up lol!) but as a new painter and left hander it was easier to understand the strokes and how you held your hand. I am constantly getting the side of my hand in my work. Thank you again lovely. - from Canada but born in UK.

After I looked at your flower paintings, I just wondered myself where are the daffodils.
They are absolutely one of my favourites. But know you have painted them I do think they are not the easiest.
I have often done that mistake with the paint brush having a much too bigger one and my stems get too thick. Thanks for that. And they are fast better that the real ones outdoors. You are such a good painter and a good teacher it's so calming to hear you. Bye

Just a question. I thought painting over pencil lines ‘sets’ it and can not be removed. How do you manage to do remove them?

Beautiful and delicate. I’ve seen so many that are far too ”heavy” and so lose that lightness of being and nodding gaiety so typical of this cheerful flower.
