I think I may have drilled pilot guide holes all the way through, as thiose flat wood drill bits, tend to wander a bit, not that you went adrift, but it is a bit diffecult to keep it perpendicular, unless you have some one there to see the other angle,you have lots of experience, so no trouble for you, happy that you mentioned not to fit the lock, where the door jointing existed, as it would weaken it. your been very helpful, thanks.

Great idea with a small diameter drill bit. Say 2 or 3mm as you say to keep it on track. Your helpful comment is greatly appreciated. Best. JJ

Can I ask what is the size in description of the lock? 50mm/80mm etc, where in the frame or door should be measured in order to get the right size lock?
