My post that is going to take the receiver from the latch is concrete. Will it be possible to drill the concrete post and fit the receiver with raw-plugs? The holes in the post are already in use that takes the fence rails. I know that the posts have reinforcing bars through it, hopefully these can be avoided, just need to know if its possible without cracking or damaging the [post.

What would be the issue if a ring latch has a lot of play in the movement of it and feels flimsy?

It's almost like a droopy ring latch. Additionally, the pack didn't provide a keep.. is a keep a typical addition to a ring latch set?
@@PythagorasBoots Usually you would have a keep as there is nothing to stop the latch bar from dropping. If there is a lot of play then it could be a cheap ringlatch or if it has been on some time then could be a result of the gate constantly slamming and putting strain on the latch!
