i feel like a lot of the exploration units like wanderer should be a little higher, looking from a meta perspective they’re not great but new accounts involve a lot of running around unlocking waypoints and exploration so having a unit that’s specialized in that is pretty nice (especially xianyun and wanderer for liyue 💀)

yea and he is not even bad as dps, i have been clearing with wanderer for so long no probolem, with shitty artifacts and 4 star weapons. he is so underrated. u just make sure to pull on his banner a lot, start with 0 pity, and keep pulling even after u get wanderer for a while to get c6 faruzan. i persoanlly think wanderer is a character whose value sky rockets if he is paired with a good 5 star. say u got nahida and wanderer, u pulled nahida, u got c4 faruzan, why wont u also get wanderer to get a good strong team for second side. A wanderrer with c6 faruzan can literally clear with any 2 random units. but if u got a bad 5 star pair then i think its skippable.
@@macle5007the issue is getting c6 faruzan is not guaranteed. If you could guarantee c6 faruzan in 180 pulls like a 5 star that would probably be worth, but if you need 300 pulls it’s probably not. On average c6 faruzan happens at the same time as c2 wanderer, and I don’t think 3 limited 5* is worth sacrificing for a good team. However, if you do get some faruzans while pulling for nahida it could be worth.
yeah i think that if you're a new player and want to eventually main wanderer this is the best banner to pull for faruzan cons rn, her being on the current banners means that wanderer probably won't be coming until at least 4.7 since he's definitely not rerunning alongside her so you might as well start working towards c6 and get nahida while you're at it since her hyperbloom team allows you to kinda focus all your resources on wanderer's teams @@georgezhang1573

Just by scrolling through the comments, you can tell hardly anyone read the title of the video
Nahida prevents any anemo reactions which basically blocks Kazuha's performance, it mediocre with Barbara, and Lisa, which Q not triggers blooms, and you need to hit it directly. Elemental mastery is very rare for artifacts. The only teams is so cool its Lisa aggravate. Or Kuki\Raiden. By the way, he put KIRARA to NO, when she provides shields, decent Dendro application and CAN CLIMB EASILY. Imagine beginner team with Kuki+Barbara+Kirara. It is most funniest team ever i could imagine. No need to dodge, no need to spam attack, you just 1E 2E 3E and circling around enemies. Nahida is for advanced players, which bothered by exploration, and need clear abyss 12 with hyperbloom team or aggravate. He also put Zhongli in No. When he downs difficulty simply to zero, as well as doing it Kirara.
Guys remember this is a SUBJECTIVE tier list. It's what he'd want. Some of these placements are absolute SHIT, but that's fine cuz you can't change how he feels about that character.
Also he says himself he hates xiaos playstyle and other characters as well, that’s why he said no for xiao and other characters

My first 5star was Nilou in 3.1, then got Nahida right after in about 20 pulls. I didn't understand how fucking lucky I was. I was disappointed I didn't get that cool Diluc character, I was told I could get him there.
Then I ended up using the team "Nilou Nahida Fischl Bennett" until like AR55 lmao.
My friends told me to use only Dendro and Hydro characters but I thought it was trash cuz I was damaging myself.
I downloaded the game in 1.0 but barely played it untill Hu Tao banner, got her on accident (was rolling on whoever was there) and as soon as I discovered she drains hp, found her uncomfortable to play and benched her for weeks, playing Geo traveler and Razor as my mains untill the end of Liyue main story 🤣
Also didn't build XL for months because after I realized how good Hu Tao was, I thought I wouldn't need another pyro damage dealer. Same reason I didn't build Fischl after getting Raiden.
The mistakes before understanding the meta are pretty fun imo, I hate optimizing teams and stuff since day 1.

That was very silly, I didn't know about wishing until like AR 30, I played a little bit early game on and off so I just missed it.
I fought Childe in archon quest using the first 4 characters only, they all died then I took 30minutes to kill it using only Amber by dodging and aiming 😢

That doesn't mean discussing your difference of opinion is the wrong this to do. If anything more comments will help this channel, which would introduce more people to his stream in the long run. The reason zajef only gets as upset as he does about this channel is that he knows it's free advertising.
I do not understand people thinking Furina is a must pull. She's a dead character for a new account. She needs ER to use her burst, which means with early game artifacts, she's just going to be halving your teams HP for little benefit. She's a character that has some account prerequisites before she becomes a powerhouse. Yelan and Xingqui are just objectively better until you have a healer and a way to charge her burst consistently.
Like, yeah, Barbara is free, but Barbara is also BAD. She generates no energy so she's basically dead weight in getting her OR Furinas burst back.
I'd say Furina is absolutely not worth it until you have at least a compatible healer + a Fav Sword on your account.
You won’t be in early game forever, and after wishing on other banners you will get 4 star healers and er stats, every 5 star unit will feel bad when you don’t build them, that’s just the reality.
I used Anemo Mc for most of the early game and just gotten Furina for my new account and she just sat there till I reached Ar 40 which took my 2 weeks, not that big of a deal
I started to play october and I think the only reason why I still play Genshin is that Neuvillette is so comfortable to play.

Xingqiu have a huge problem, he cant recharge properly if you dont have Fav or Sac R3 until C6, that would limit him a lot in which teams he would work, also i help some friends that are starting the game, and im going to say something: every account that does not have Fischl feels behind. In worst case scenario she is a flex tape.
Super interesting content, helping us to look at units in another way than META. And the use case is actually very relevant, which actually helps us to figure out our own way of building our account alongside all those META considerations. Obviously going for units we like is best, but how do you even know when you never played them (test run is not enough tbh), and once you get to 1-2 events that show you how great some units are, their banner are way gone already… you can always wait, but his considerations are great for the waiting phase!!!

You can clear with free 4 star units, so any character is technically a luxury pull
@@omarbirkdar5536 i guess you're missing my point. not everyone can clear with only 4 stars (assuming you meant abyss clears). i certainly can't. and definitely most people can't. abyss aside, having some certain 5 stars makes the game actually enjoyable for the early game. for example, i've never had venti and never got him during his rerun (i started at 1.5). but i can imagine how much more fun and time efficient it would be to be able to pull small enemies in the overworld whilst clearing the early content.
a character like furina on the other hand will only make your character deal more damage, but it's not like they will deal a lot more since they're not well built early on. and there is a problem of hp drain. you wouldn't want that if you're just starting out
@@lenfent You can also just swap into her ousia mode. She has a portable statue of the seven whereas Kokomi's jellyfish is stationary. Plus Bennett is not a bad option and its a lot easier getting particles in overworld to regen bursts
If this list is for a new account isnt overworld a huge factor to consider. I cant imagine all the exploration furina trivializes for a fresh account.
Ganyu and Tighnari would be higher too since she makes Overworld super easy. No need for any setups or burst, just charge shot
now take a look at wanderer which basically invalidates any difficulties in overworld

He doesn't play hsr, he tried doing a list for fun and it was comical 🤣 the list would be very surprising now that we have PF, Herta and Himeko are considered good units suddenly (i always loved Himeko but she hasn't come home 😭 I have to borrow from friends).

However, herta cannot, nor would you pull for her if she was, because you get her to e5 for free from simulated universe, so more copies are basically pointless. They didn’t give another herta with world 8, but I think they might for world 9 just to complete the full free e6.

I think ganyu is better then you put it, sure she isnt the best but her BIS (for melt) is an artifact set from bosses so you can passively farm it. In addition her ascension materials are quite easy so it trivializes early game, either that or im on hard copium as she was my first 5 star (ganyu baizhu banner) and im seeing through rose-tinted glasses

Maybe misguided, but nilou has a full team of guaranteed 4*s that functions well without nahida. I feel like the primo efficiency wasn't touched on. Maybe your point about abyss floors that dont work for her outweighs this.

Nilou, Dendro traveler/ Collei, Yao Yao, Babara are some free and strong units for a good Nilou team
They can easily clear out some abyss with just investment on Nilou and her signature.
Entire team is short model, not very mobile for chest hunting or traveling, which takes up majority of early game gameplay
The team also requires swapping different characters out constantly to maintain aura
So much hassle can be prevented by just pulling for a different unit like Yelan or Neuvillette

Nahida's 1.5U Dendro application is at its most important in Nilou teams, which is something people always underestimate.
@@episode4882 We aren't pulling for overworld. None of that content matters, this entire tierlist is just dedicated to clearing floor 12 as early as possible. Any other content just dies to the stat difference you have over the overworld content and story content.
@afsdfsadhasfh That could be said about any dendro team, and they may be more scuffed without nahida than nilou is.
My point was about primo efficiency. Nilou's floor is pretty high, her f2p team is guaranteed (one gets to be c6), and the resin efficiency isn't terrible either.
You're able to be way more flexible with your other team, and by extension, way more likely to have something competent.

Ngl wanderer must pool his pure exploration potential is actually insane… u can fly, it makes puzzles and exploring so much more fun even though he may not be the best fornspiral abyss. No other character can honestly compete for his exploration other than xianyun (not yelan all she does is let u run fast, not climb or go over gaps)

I started last summer, playing casually. Neuvi banner was the first I pulled on. Couldn't have asked for a better one. Love the comfortable play so much that I neglected to build Keqing, who I got from losing the 50-50. Tried for Furina, but lost 50-50 to Keqing again. Heard Raiden and Nahida were coming up, so used the pity+guarantee to get Raiden. Won 50-50 for Nahida. Got little clue who to save for next now. Still really want Furina. I haven't invested in my Rational team enough to do Floor 12, and am convinced that a hyperbloom team with EM Raiden would be better. Neuvi team having no problems. I feel resin starved enough from leveling new characters to put off artifact farming, so I want characters that don't need endless resin dumped into artifacts to be good. EM builds seem easier to get, so Alhaitham kind of stands out, but still not sure. I'm at AR55 with 426 lifetime pulls, with tons of content left to do, as I haven't been rushing/grinding. Got Dehya and a Skyward spine from standard banner pity.
I'm curious on what is the context of this ranking besides the 'For a new account' title. Basically, a lot of new account experience is going to be overworld and yet I am seeing him dismiss plenty of characters there that have so much value in that regard.
As a Klee main, I can respect the comment on her and the placement.
I enjoyed the character for bombings but Nahida, Furina, and Kazuha really makes team comps with her better.
I must be weird bc I love using a bow. Tighnari is my favorite character so charged attacking is fine for me. So I should get Lyney his next rerun.
Razor is good for a new account at low level.
Exploration passive, heavy strikes, knock back, nothing is immune to physical… these are all useful qualities in early game

wanderer as a first five star at low ar would be a godsend tbh, he deals good damage while being ranged and flying, is quite simple, can be played in a lot of team variations, has almost no counter, and is the exploration archon
I think sucros and rozaria should be above as u cant bue them. But if u buy the rest sucros tazzer/agrevate/hyper bloom all can be done by the starters and buyabe/ free 4* s and kaya rozaria xl beny melt comp is pretty awsom on abyss and u put sucros on team 2 and play ther rest of the team that is no national
Zajef has literally no idea about Nilou and it always shows when he thinks there is an ocean of difference between Nahida on the team or not. There is a difference, especially in ease of play, but it's not as big as he thinks it is. We have f2p Nilou completing every abyss easily.
That said she's not a high priority for a new player, as a new player will mostly be exploring the world and going through story. You don't need that much power for that, so mobility would be far more important. Like Yelan, Kazuha, Xianyun, Furina, Ayaka, Sayu, Kirara, Lynette, and Neuvilette (him sliding up hills, also because he's a self-sustained damage monster). Maybe Nahida for collecting flowers and matbe Zhongli for shield. Nilou is for mid-adventure or beyond players struggling with abyss.
Not having nahdia for nilou is like playing xiangling without c4, it’s fine but at that point just use any unit who does the job better.
Having to build 3 unoptimal units for a teams that barely competes with a hyper carry or national teams is not f2p friendly

For exploration I love Ganyu. I really dont care about perfect MOC clears, most of my gameplay time in Genshin is exploration and having a freeze archer for exploration feels SO GREAT.
If you're not a new player, but you're running a new account then sure you can pass on Zhongli which I did. However, as a new player and as the first 5* on my account, Zhongli was the comfiest pull by a mile.
Neuv is the closest thing to a must pull for a new account. He’s worth 4 units in the abyss, his best set is also the best/most flexible set in the game even at end game, and his best F2P weapon is a craftable. Supports still need other units to support, Neuv does it by himself. 🧠
To me he’s the best chara in the game. He consolidates every role and it’s impossible anyone will perform like his DPI blitz.
I’ll never pull him because I can’t stand simple gameplay…. And his gameplay, although effective, is the laziest and most basic gameplay of all the units.

Yeah, Kazuha just falls off for me. The only teamcomp that I still used him is in Freeze comp with Ganyu/Layla/Mona. And the last time I brought him to the abyss was against the Hydro Tulpa because I was using a mono Pyro with Benett/XL/Yanfei.
Bro forget put exploration capability for newbie/new account. Xianyun and wanderer deserve better I think,
I'll put wanderer to "would dislike on a banner" because he good for exploration kinda needed it for new account but hard to build
And lastly I'll put xianyun on the top, she make exploration more enjoyable, and she is a support so not hard to build her
Xianyun has very uncertain future worth, without Furina, her buffing potential is funny for non plunge scaling characters that’s not Xiao or Gaming or Diluc
We can expect a new plunge dps in future, but when, remember how long it took for Yae or Kuki to be relevant? Remember how people coped Dehya would be ‘useful’ in Fontaine?
I can only imagine how broken infinite walking on water would be early game, there are so many puzzles/annoying encounters designed around water. Not to mention he (and 90% of the player base) forgets that Furina IS a healer if you trade damage for it, a healer with infinite on field duration at that.

Inazuma is all about underground and boats
Sumeru is flying with those yellow thingy and dehydration, also tons of underground
Fontaine is about swimming UNDERwater, not above

@@episode4882 liyue has two areas with a fair bit of water, but Inazuma goes crazy with the amount of areas walking on water helps. The boats waypoints are sometimes far from where you need them, and very inconvenient since they are not teleports themselves for some reason. I'm using Furina on the new Liyue area and even there is helpfull. If you tried it I think you would agree.

Mona jean and keqing are in the bottom tier because they're standard banner and thus literally don't get featured on banner, the standard banner characters are bottom tier by default, not necessarily by quality
Furina is insane in the overworld though. Healing on demand, can walk across water, does lots of off field damage without much skill involved.
Good luck constantly sitting at half hp if u want dmg, or enjoy the hassle switch to heal mode and switch member out 1 by 1 to heal or teleport to statue

Getting furina is like getting c2 for your entire team .. plus her healing is insane plus her DMG is insane . Plus her ability to walk over water is crazy . I have c0 furina which comes in the top 3% ..

Speaking as someone who has a friend who just started Genshin last month, Furina is TOUGH on a new account. You need to build healers, her mechanics aren't easy to understand, and she needs alot of ER.

Basically this list only applies to your first few pulls, after which time your account is no longer 'new' and this list becomes less and less relevant.

Both Yelan and Kazuha are end-game characters. They have the longest "wait time" until you can ascend them properly: you need to unlock Inazuma and Chasm, which cannot be done until AR 30. In general, wouldn't even call them "must-pull" for the new account, I rather consider them a nice addition for well-established account.
Particularly Yelan: I'm not sure how exactly you are going to use her to win multiple required battles against the abyss herald, before you can even get to Inazuma, not to mention you also need to unlock the Chasm to ascend her.
Nahida is nice, but you really need other characters for her to work. Xingqui and Kuki are bare minimum for hyperbloom (and this is the only reaction you can really use against the most annoying enemies which jump and teleport randomly all the time). She is also really squishy. Basically, opt for Nahida when you already have the team to unleash her potential. She is not that great by herself.
And no, Furina is definitely better pull than Yelan for a new account, because she does not have this annoying condition on her abilities (Yelan require you to use basic attacks which is the weakest kind of attack in the game). Furina can be a bit annoying with her HP-drain mechanic, and she still can't do anything to abyss herald, but she at least can be your healer, and a good one too, because she does not require you to stay in narrow circle to heal. And you can ascend her no problem at any stage of the game, unlike Yelan.

There are plenty of 5-stars which are easier and better suited for new account than both Furina and Yelan - Zajef listed them all. The biggest problem with this list is that it doesnt account for unit's exploration and farming potential.
Both Yelan and Kazuha go up a tier, as well as any unit that has any mobility, but more importantly Zhongli skyrockets to the top as well.
I honestly cant imagine farming domains and bosses early on without him, and he gives you the best way to farm ore which you will be doing at the start of the game a lot.
I would also bump a lot of pyro units up a tier solely due to how crucial pyro is for exploration.

Ayaka will much more better than liney's teirlist. U move fast u can start up a ealy freeze / hyper freeze / melt ayaka comp with startars charater mc and the free characters in early abyss. As a new player versatility is key. With free xl i can play a shit melt ayaka but its someting. I can freeze ocinide to build xq and barbara , i. Can farm beth and electro cube ezly with ayaka. I can farm emblem deep wood and guilded with her there r the only woth farming early game as for new player gettin 2 atk set is huge.
For a new acc characters for adventuring is the most important
Getting oculus for stamina, collecting flowers and rocks, speed solving puzzles and challenges is majority of early game until you artifact farm at ar 50. I don't want to have amber in the party every time there is a pyro puzzle or traveling through dragonspine

Childe has cd issue if you stay too long.. but most enemies die within one skill and by the time you get to the next enemy your cd is over.. plus his hydro app is very high destroying shields quickly..

Childe requires you to learn to manipulate his field time, also his raw dmg is by no means good without reaction, there’s no need to emphasize on shield breaking, as in early game, most players would want a healer in team to be healthy, and guess which 4* healer is given for free and can also break pyro shield very well

@@episode4882I don't think you ever played Ayaka, you just tap the sprint and she gains more stamina than she lost because of her passive. She is basically a cryo catalyst with faster attacks (actual catalyst not Wrio who is a brawler in disguise). Freeze is horrible in abyss I know, but very good in overworld and farming, she does not deserve to share a tier with Klee.
And Zhong Li making the game too easy, doesn't Nahida and Neuvillete do the same thing but offensively? Streamers usually dislike him bc he removes the thrill of a12 and makes chat bored, but meta wise he is amazing. Cyno and Klee over Zhongli metawise is insane to me, he is just salty he pulled c1 Zhongli.
Childe CD is a learn curve, I personally hate it, but he is very strong with a very accessible 4* team too. He said he is tired of Childe so he is placed down. The list has to be either objective or personal, he switches between both. What's the deal with Diona too, she is not top pick but she is FAR from the bottom of 4*s too. He mentions hers before Xinyan ffs.

Okay guys, lets lay some ground rules: no 5-stars. I mean you can't seriously expect to get a 5-star in early game. So, 4-stars only.
The second point is, you need to avoid Inazuma characters, because you can't level them properly in early game. You CAN use them, but they will be at least 1 ascension lower than the others.
And finally, no high constellations. You can consider getting C1, but that's about it. There is simply not enough wishes in early game to go for constellations. You can't expect to get C4 or C6 even for 4-star at this stage in the game.
So considering all this, the most valuable character for me in early game would probably be Faruzan or Sucrose. Or Heizo, even though he is from Inazuma. I heavily rely on Xiangling too, but I can get her from the 3rd floor of the Abyss, so there is no variables here, you just get her anyway.

Ayaka is burst reliant, while Wrio isn’t, in early game when u don’t have a proper team or proper ER, characters that has dmg source mainly from their skill or NA are better

@@cocacolaman963no, Ayaka’s best team is not cheap, including characters like Shenhe, Kazuha and Kokomi, while 2 out of 3 of these characters are quite commonly used, but for new players to get all 3 would take a while, plus meta would’ve changed
Wrio on other hand can utilize melt, unlike Ayaka, so he has synergy with dendro, meaning along the pull path, you will end up getting Nahida, and Nahida enable dendro reaction to be stronger and dendro reaction is very good for f2p players, Wrio will indirectly benefit from burning reaction to do some freaky sh*t, although not as good, it’s enough to clear most content in game
This is really cope and explain in full details will take an essay, but main ideas are written, maybe someone else with free time can explain in full, but generally, Wrio is more flexible than Ayaka

Her old/AoE team consists of Kazuha, Mona, and Diona. Sucrose can replace Kazuha a bit but it won't be as good. Her current best team consists of 3 other 5 stars (Kokomi, Shenhe, Kazuha). All these issues stem from how she's most optimal when played in Freeze teams.
Wriothesley is a bit better than Ayaka for new players because he can use a wider variety of supports that are relatively more accessible such as Xingqiu, Xiangling and Bennett.

Keep in mind to do the vape plunge dps thing, both Furina and C6 Bennet are must, and even then, the team can get easily cucked by multiwave content or enemies that are not fiddlesticks which stand perfectly still in or near Bennet’s burst, haha funny dmg is not good dmg
Keep in mind current abyss floors are literally tailor made for Xiao or plunge playstyle as enemies spawn close to each other, does not get scattered from plunges, and they don’t teleport or stand perfectly still
Keep in mind you said nothing newsworthy abyss exist to sell the characters on the banner it's not even worth calling it the endgame at all
I didn't understand the Childe argument either, he only has one team really but it's a free one, specially on lantern rite. So you are not even affect by waiting for his comps aside Bennet in the store.

You don't need any characters to carry you in anything but abyss, and floors 9-11 are easily clearable with downright terrible teams. Back when I started playing, I've waited for more than half a year for a Hu Tao banner without wishing a single time - everyone's account is completely different, and this list might actually help some people pick the characters they would like to save for.

whats more crazy is not even between yelan or furina, but between ganyu and lyney when lyney NEEDS bennett for newer players since not using them together is a pain in the ass (his hp drain is scary for newer accounts) especially in overworld, while ganyu is easier to play in overworld solo, and still clears lower floor with just cheap supports like kaeya, barbara, and xiangling.

I'm so bummed that I missed the Neuvilette banner. Not only because Neuvilette is an awesome and super powerful unit, but also because the 4 stars on that banner were very valuable (both Fischl and Xingqiu, neither of which I have C6). That banner was such a good banner, sad I missed it 😅

Must pulls ONLY if you're fine with getting the featured 5*: Xiangling, Bennett, Xingqiu, Sucrose, Fischl, Shinobu, Yaoyao, Diona, Gaming***.
*Raiden is a must pull, but only if your account doesn't have Kuki Shinobu. If you do, her value drops significantly.
**Mobile players only. They already have it rough, might as well have a character that makes the game easier.
***Proven as an objectively good pyro dps. He does NOT need Xianyun, national is enough.
Extra: Units like Scaramouche, Xianyun and Yelan are must pulls if you plan on doing tons of exploration. Yelan + Lynette is fast and allows stamina regeneration to 100%. As a special mention, Furina can walk on water forever.
For a new account- Kazuha for 1st place- he makes moving around so much easier and even for abyss - he always has a use

His e is pretty overrated for exploration. You would rather get xianyun since she can heal + dps early game and her skill is insane

for extra height you have gmc and he IS mandatory for a lot of puzzles (which is more relevant for new acc).

With star rail, the gameplay is generally all the same for every unit, so optimal play is alot more easy than optimally playing in genshin

Zajef assumes her worst case scenario then holds her up to a high standard, but sort of doesn’t do that for other units. You try navia with no Furina and c0 Bennet/xiangling and gmc. You try haithem spread with no Nahida c0 fischl.
It seems like only Nilou gets the doompost treatment. Even the “get a lucky four star” concept works in her favor as she does like her Yao Yao and Collei cons. But at a baseline she’s able to clear abyss no matter how much he dislikes no Nahida comps, and she only gets better with random dendro/hydro five stars.
I've been having easy 36* with haitham/kuki/xq/yaoyao all c0 since forever tho...
