+Cake' #StopMotion your welcome! I always wanted to see something like this! I wish they remate the prequels (not that I hate them, I actually enjoyed them, but they could be way better) and added plagueis.
Just imagine, you see Palpatine/Darth Sidious and his master Darth Plagueis scheeming throughout the movie. You see how Palpatine plans to kill his master, how he takes on a secret apprentice without him knowing. Have less Jar Jar moments, give him a less annoying voice (like in the anti cheese edit) remove the midichlorians and all the comedy relief and the movie would have been 10 times better!
Maybe you could do a stop motion movie of the phantom menace remade? Like not change the main story, just improve it :P I would pay to see it to be honest xD
You should also add voice acting to the videos. Whether its from the movies or custom made (I could help you with custom made ones, I actually make good voice impersonations of characters such as Palpatine, Darth Vader, count dooku, Jar Jar Binks, Yoda... etc. And I could help you with ideas too, I love working with people and pretty much helping out!)
Eitherway, the stop motion animations look really good, maybe a few frames more in between would make it flow better, but still, its really good! Again, voice acting is something it needs, and maybe instead of speechbubbles maybe put subtitles on the bottom of the screen with the name of the person talking on top or something.
Anyways, looking forward to future videos! ;)
By the way, how long did it take you to make this vídeo? Like overall preproduction, production and postproduction.

Imagine some guy coming to congratulate Palpatine, then just walking in on this.
This would have made Ep 1 a trillion times better. I think it shows that Lucas didn't have Eps 1-3 that well planned out in advanced. A saber battle between Sidious and Plagueis while Maul was engaging Qui-gon and Obi Wan would have been epic.
digitalgravity Darth Plagueis wasn't really developed until Episode III and then some concept art of the Force Unleashed.
But that's be a great fight to see!

Agreed on your last statement. As for planning, at least the recurring theme throughout the prequels was still consistent and well-maintained. Lucasfilm under Disney and KK, on the other hand, didn't have the sequel trilogy (Eps 7, 8, and 9) well planned out in advance, hence the obvious flip-flops here and there throughout.
I love Sideos' signature spiral saber leap attack he does. In this video it's at 3:59 but I swear he uses it against Yoda too

Now this is why I refuse to believe that Darth Plagueis was simply killed in his sleep and that he would've been smart enough to actually cheat death himself.

Okay, I hope this will explain:
Earlier when plagueis was still training sidious. Some man hired assassins to kill plagueis, and they damaged him so much, that he needed a life support system. So if he was electrified, then he would die. Also, he was drunk, and asleep.

The assassins were hired by the Gran Protectorate, not Sidious. He still needed Plagueis at that time, as his training was not finished. Sidious then went and slaughtered the Gran who had hired the assassins.

I think it’s not only more interesting to think that there was a duel instead of Sidious killing his master in his sleep, but I also think it was what actually happened and that Sidious wanted Vader to think he was more skilled than Plagueis. Plagueis, from what I can understand of him was far too clever and powerful to overlook his apprentice.
This would have been a far more favorable and logical turn of events... the Rule of Two dictates the apprentice to fight the Master when both are at peak capabilities, not merely to be more clever... I approve of this adaptation, as it shows that Plagueis was still formidable, and Sidious’ victory would have been more noteworthy

Love the added detail of including Plagueis' preference over Niman, using Jar'Kai with both his weapon and staff in the fight. Nice touch.
To be honest, i just wanted Plagueis to use Single saber / saber + stick in each hands / Staff

The fight scenes in this were incredibly well done, that double parry into a back flip off a foot on both obi wans and qui gons back was one of the coolest moves I've ever seen in anything ever!
Wow, this is incredibly well-done and gripping throughout. I believe the author of the Plagueis novel, James Luceno, was hoping to at least give Plagueis a lightsaber duel to close out his character, but he was mandated that Plagueis had to die in his sleep, and even then, it was in a drunken stupor. Here, it's cool to see how things could have gone if Luceno had his way. I'm confident that if he wasn't partly buzzed and taken by surprise, Plagueis could have fought him off, but even then, he still made Palpatine work for that win. A fantastic piece of animation all-around!

Seeing this makes me wish it actually happened in the movies and in canon. Definitely would have felt like Palpatine earned the mantle of Sith Lord, and was in fact the culmination of the Sith with his victory over the Jedi and the republic.

Darth Plagueis vs Palpatine duel is totally my headcanon now. Way more satisfying than in the book and glad we get to see "post assassination attempt" Plagueis going all out. He had grown considerably more powerful over the course of 20 years and it's cool to see it.

Sidious deceived Anakin on everything, why not how it transpired? Being a sith lord killed in your sleep is lame and wimpy and makes Plagueis sound like a bum. Having Sheev fight his master during the fight in TPM would be epic.
I also think to cover up the story of the act of yourself being more evil than the pure evil that Plagueis was would've swayed Anakin away from Palp's grasp
This was extremely well done. The changes made from the original story made it an interesting alternative. And the cut to the duel of fates was very cool.

OMG after 6 years only now I found this so suddenly. I personally love it!!!
A hung over Plageuis was barely beaten by a sober Palpatine. Think about how powerful Plaguies was.
And got shocked multiple times before attacking Sidious. Sidious really was very power and very talented, but yeah, couldn't beat Plagueis in a fair fight, hence why he has to resort to stuff like this.
That was amazing. The fact that all those events take place all at once gives ep.1 a new perspective

This is why I love Star wars
That was the one thing that I really hated from the novel, so much so, I probably would have preferred not knowing how it happened. I never really felt or got Palpatine's intentions to set up his master's death. All of those things he said about the the manipulation schemes seemed to come out of nowhere. My head cannon is that as he was about to leave, he was granted a force vision of the limitless power he would have, not needing Plagueis anymore, and a premonition of his master's death.
This actually makes more sense given that he was always surprised with Plagueis's more youthful appearance when he met him on Sojourn for the first time in a while. I like the idea that Sidious might underestimate him thinking that he would be an easy target while sleeping and shock Sidious with his renewed vigor once again.
The finishing move was so savage, so unique, and so chilling. Being held in place while a lightsaber pierces some of your hearts and then another coming in to finish the job. You could feel the vindication, and immense shock wave that erupted after he was killed. It does a wonderful job of calling back to the first section of the book where Sidious is still trying to comprehend everything that happened and what changed after his victory.

I like how despite being in a drunken stupor and being caught off guard, it's still extremely difficult for Sidious to kill Plagueis. I actually wish it was edited in The Phantom Menace somehow. It is better than just simply killing him in a stupor and in his sleep. Even though he attempted to do something in the book, I wish there was a full fledged fight, as shown here. Sidious would still need to weaken Plagueis because Plagueis is just too strong to fight head on, hence Sidious resorting to these methods.

This is very cool and major props to whoever made it, but I’ve got to say,
i think it’s very uncharacteristic of sith like sidious and plagueis to engage in lightsaber duels for any reason besides for training to fight jedi. I think the way it happens in the novel is much better. In case anyone hasn’t read it (you should), sidious attacks him with lightning and first destroys his respirator mask, causing him to begin to suffocate, and then continues to throw more and more lightning at him until it becomes a whole force storm within the apartment. Meanwhile, plagueis, initially caught by surprise in his sleep, is trying to keep himself alive by willing his midichlorians to stay in his body, because he literally thinks he’s too powerful to be killed. Obviously besides for being much more in line with how the characters would realistically act, this version of the story (from the novel) fits perfectly with “the tragedy of darth plagueis the wise” the way we hear palpatine tell it to anakin in ep. 3.
